“Man Proposes, God Disposes,” Part 2

Both Virgil’s act of creation and the ambivalent act of destruction and recycling performed by the Egyptian populace were acts of remembrance; both were self-serving, and both were accidentally and unconsciously irreverent. Both had borrowed materials from a predecessor in order to apply them to a new purpose, and both had performed a service to people of the future and a disservice to God: They had profaned an image devoted to God and thus unknowingly salvaged it from oblivion. In time, this secret has been revealed.

In the mid-nineteenth century, on the east bank of the Nile, halfway between Memphis and Thebes, the ruins of an ancient and unidentified city, literally covered by the sands of time, were found by the army of Napoleon excellently preserved. Its outlines were mapped by the army’s engineers, and the reliefs on its tombs and temples and boundary steles were recorded by archaeologists. Later in that century, a poor woman of the house of Ishmael, who was digging on the ancient site for nitrogen-rich fuel for her hearth, accidentally uncovered a cache of three hundred letters written in cuneiform on clay tablets that identified the unknown city as Akhetaten and its builder as the then-unknown pharaoh Akhenaten. Today the sacred city of Akhetaten remains the only ancient Egyptian city whose internal plan is preserved in detail. During the twentieth century, three millennia after the mysterious and damaging enmity that arose between Egyptians and Israelites, more than one student of Egyptology has proposed that Akhenaten might be another child of the Hebrew scriptures, one whose name was also banned in Egypt and whose memory was buried in Israel by biblical redactors. Among the ancient adherents of this school are Lysimachus, Tacitus, Strabo, and Manetho; among the modern adherents are Sir Matthew Flinders Petrie, James Henry Breasted, Arthur Weigall, Alan Gardiner, E. Wallis Budge, Sigmund Freud, and Ahmed Osman. Breasted was the first modern scholar to recognize that the name Moses means “child” in the ancient Egyptian language (The Dawn of Conscience, 1934, page 350). Freud popularized this meaning to identify the Jewish figure Moses with the Egyptian Akhenaten or one of the heretic king’s followers (Moses and Monotheism, 1937). Osman went further and put this meaning into a theory with dramatic context (The Hebrew Pharaohs of Egypt, 1987; Moses and Akhenaten, 1990) by historical identification of biblical characters: All the kings who ruled from the sacred city of Akhetaten, the so-called Amarna kings—Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV), Semenkhkare, Tutankhaten (Tutankhamun), and Aye—are identified as descendants of the house of Jacob; that is to say, Israel, through Yuya, the vizier to Amenhotep III, who was, historically, the biblical patriarch Joseph. The usurper Horemheb is identified as the biblical oppressor king “who knew not Joseph” (Exodus 1:8); Akhenaten he identified as the biblical Moses. Osman proposes that after Akhenaten fell from power and fled into exile—when it became a crime to utter the name Akhenaten, the name that had been part of his royal and religious power while he sat on the throne—he was referred to unofficially as “the fallen one” or “the rebel of Akhetaten”; and his followers, faced with the accusation that their leader was not the real heir to the throne and being forbidden to speak his name, invented for him a nickname—Mos, meaning “the child” or “the son” or “the son and rightful heir”—to indicate that Akhenaten was the legitimate son of Amenhotep III and the rightful heir to his father’s throne. That nickname, claims Osman, has come down to us in its Greek transliteration, as Moses.

In 1907, after centuries of speculation, three British scholars published extensive findings and thorough research to prove that the prophetic Hebrew image of the Golden Age of the future had been grafted into Virgil’s Fourth Eclogue (Virgil’s Messianic Eclogue: Its Meaning, Occasion & Sources). A century of historical and literary clarifications followed. Our time offers a further point of clarification: The Divine Child who would fulfill the original intention of the oracle was born not around 40 BCE, as Virgil had hoped, nor nearly forty years later in Bethlehem, as medieval Christians believed, but in the year 1959 of our own age. The Child’s name was Jamil (See Jamil: Child of Light).*

THE SEARCH FOR THE SECRETS OF IMMORTALITY:
Solar Cultures of Ancient Japan

 

The work of PROJECT “X” is to search for knowledge of the ancient Orders who practiced a similar System of Spiritual Regeneration at varied places throughout time – knowledge that is the divine birthright of every living person. THE SEARCH FOR THE SECRETS OF ANCIENT JAPAN was one in a unique series of PROJECT “X” travel programs designed for travelers who want to follow in the path of those mystics who introduced the world to knowledge of the immortal soul and the Spiritual Sun by teaching the Way of Light. The 2011 research travel program to Japan focused on the solar cultures of ancient Japan on the islands of Kyushu and the south of Honshu.

In this report, follow the thirteen-day trip day by day and immerse yourself in the mystic heritage of a land where the past seems to blend seamlessly with the present. Come to know the ancient Mystery Schools as you visit shrines and temples vicariously through the experiences of Project X members who took part in the tour. Attune with the natural beauty of sacred precincts grown out of millennia of spiritual teachings in locales where the people have long communed with the sun and knew The Way.

Archeological evidence places the first human settlement on the islands of Japan around approximately 10,000 BCE, but little is known for sure about human activity in the area before the sixth century CE. One of the purposes of the Project “X” tour was to investigate this past in order to present on-site information on these early times, including the little-known influences of the “Luminous Teaching” and teachers of the early Church of the East (called Keikyo in Japan).

 

THE JAPAN PROPHECY

“After Heaven’s Gate is open, and all the islands of Japan are connected, a Golden God will appear in the years of the Ox and the Tiger and be seated on the Throne.” These cryptic words foretell a spiritual event currently in the making, one in which the islands of Japan play a vital role.

Literally meaning “of the sun’s origin,” Nippon or Nihon has an ancient and mystical solar culture legacy, one which we will learn more of during the upcoming Solar Mysteries of Ancient Japan lecture tour. We will share the rich histories and secrets of the Shinto priesthood, solar Buddhism, and the little-known legacy of what has been called Nestorian Christianity – a remnant of the True Church that made its way from Syria, Persia, and India to China in the fifth century C.E. and then to Japan a century later under the esoteric spiritual master Kukai, also known as Kobo-daishi. The sacred shrines, temples, and other sites to be visited will shed light on the mysterious Luminous and Illustrious Religion and reveal the hidden meaning of Japan as a spiritual nation.

It was the purpose of the 2011 trip to Japan (May 9 – May 21, 2011) to gather further evidence of this ancient solar culture and share our research.

Saturday Message January 9, 2010

On Saturday, January 9, 2010, Bishop Gene Savoy Jr. closed the Communion of Fellowship Service with a homily to announce the first collaborative activity of the International Community of Christ with the Satya-chetana Movement and to discuss the significance of the event. (See the article Satya-chetana Intervention Service in SPECTRUM.) A summary transcript of Bishop Savoy’s message follows:

“Tonight, as part of our collaboration with our Brahman/Hindu brothers and sisters, we are conducting a special prayer for peace ceremony. Now, the members of Satya-chetana call it an intervention – we could call it an intercession. I also use the word ceremony because it is not a service, per se. But I would like to discuss a little bit about what the purpose of our coming together this evening is for, although more will be explained later tonight.

“Many of you are familiar [with] and knowledgeable in the importance and significance of cycles and signs. And to introduce this concept more clearly, I would like to read a few passages from the First Prophecy to the Americas [Chapter 2, “The First Prophecy Proclaimed,” pages 54-60 is read]. You may read further on your own.

“Now, it has been observed that on New Year’s Eve – December 31, 2009 – a lunar eclipse occurred in the Eastern Hemisphere. This lunar eclipse is to be followed by a solar eclipse on January 15. Vedic scripture states that if a lunar eclipse occurs and is followed by a solar eclipse within two weeks, it is a sign of coming devastation, destruction, and hardship, as our Second Advent scriptures states. The last time this phenomenon took place was three thousand years ago. Again, more will be explained tonight. I might also mention as a side note that our calendar has the sunrise reflections beginning on January 15 – nine days after Epiphany.

“But basically what we are participating in this evening is that we intercede on behalf of the world and Mankind, not that we can stop many of these events from transpiring but that we can minimize them, especially as they affect and relate to areas of the Earth that we seek to be protected, as well as individuals that we pray will not be harmed by the coming tumult of these times.

“As we know, there is a cosmic battle being waged in spiritual realms , and we seek to counter the psychic darkness that is being projected into the world. We can do this by not only employing our techniques of Cosolargy but also using other techniques and ceremonies from ancient cultures – sacred imagery and the like — and appealing to the Angels of Light – called siddhas in Sanskrit – to transmit their positive energy and power to us. Of course, we know that the best time to do this is in the predawn hours when their divine energies are at their zenith. This time of day is called Brahma-murta, the definition literally meaning ‘sun of the resurrection.’

“Many of you may remember [that] many years ago, we participated in a similar intercession or ‘intervention’ at the Rectory when my father feared that the world was on the brink of a major war, and that we used the power of ritual, crystals, and fellowship to counteract a devastating event. Rice and water also have these ‘communicating powers,’ if I may use that term.

“We are going to be instructed tonight to send our healing energies to those whom we know and to those who are close to us. This coincides with various techniques in our System by which we inflect and reflect divine love, allowing Christ Consciousness to fill us and permeate the Universe. We also are familiar with our Technique of KU.

“So we are participating with our brothers and sisters of Divine Mission and Satya-chetana because not only must we extend a hand of collaboration, friendship, and fellowship, but we have been specifically asked to participate with them. It is also good reminder for us to keep in mind the deeper insights of our Prophecies and Revelations.

“So I ask those of you who can participate to do so. It certainly is not a requirement, but our goal is to gather fifty-two individuals collectively this evening. Please keep an open mind. The Chapel will be arranged somewhat differently tonight. There is no obligation to wear canonicals unless you wish to. Also, due to the nature of the ceremony, it is requested that you arrive at 6:15. The Chapel doors will be closed at 6:30. Also, it is requested that you not eat one hour before and 30 minutes after. The service should last about half an hour. I thank you for your indulgence and look forward to this evening as we enter these interesting times.”
