“Israel Suite” Now on You Tube

2013-SPM-GaryBuchanan_conducting1
Israel Suite was composed by Gary Buchanan in 1988. The Hebraic music was composed for a documentary film produced and directed by Gene Savoy, Mystery of the Essenes of Old Israel, a 1992 Project X release.

The 1991 Project X tour to Israel and Jordan visited a great many ancient sites—Jersualem and the Mount of Olives, Wadi Qumran, Masada, Beth Shemesh, Capernaum, Mount Gerizim and the excavations taking place there, Mount Hermon, Tiberias, and multiple cities on the coast of Galilee, Caesarea Maritima, and many others. The entire time in Israel the crew was filming and keeping records of their discoveries. Upon their return to Nevada, they began editing the footage and assembling the documentary. A great deal of the film was synchronized with the music Buchanan had already recorded in the studio.

Solar Teachings of Greece and the Mediterranean published

Reproduction from the Palace of Knossos. PHOTO: Gene Savoy Jr.

Solar Teachings of Greece and the Mediterranean, the ninth in a series of Project X Symposia lectures on ancient solar cultures, has now been published and is being made available to Consociates enrolled in or graduates of the Academy Program who wish to obtain a personal copy.

The lectures were originally delivered in 2009 by Bishop Gene Savoy Jr. on location in Greece during the Project X seminar tour that year. Later, during Convocation that year, technique lectures were revised and repeated for the general membership of the Community who were not able to attend the seminar tour. This collection of lectures is the first in the Project X Symposia series to be authored by Gene Savoy Jr. rather than by Gene Savoy Sr.

The transcript was prepared and printed only days before the 2012 Convocation opened and was made available first to Convocation attendees.

Gift copies are available to Consociates through the Jamilian University Press for a donation of $49.50.

Members of the 2009 Greece tour will receive a copy of the transcript with no further donation requested.

GOOD-BYE TO JAPAN

Final breakfast in Japan PHOTO Jim Elliott

“After breakfast at the hotel, we say good-bye to all of our dear Japanese friends and head out for the airport. Some of them, Yuki, Koshu, Miyuki, and Shinobu, accompany us on the train and to the airport. It is a sad departure, as they so much enjoyed having us with them for two weeks in Japan. Now, we are on our way back to the U.S. via the same way we came, i.e., Korea and a long flight back to LAX/Reno.”

“We have a box lunch at the place, then take a large vessel out into the harbor to observe the tidal whirlpools (vortexes) in the Naruto Strait. It is a beautiful and sunny boat ride, with everyone laughing and taking pictures. An afternoon on the water seems to be exactly what was called for … especially for me … to wind down from the activities of the previous day. . . .

“After the boat ride, we take a hike around the island, up and over the hills in a circle, observing the sites: ocean, forests, paths, small shrines here and there, and the village itself.”

KYOTO IMPERIAL PALACE

Imperial Palace, Kyoto. PHOTO: Jim Elliott

Kyoto Imperial Palace (Kyoto Gosho) is an imperial palace of Japan, although the emperor of Japan has not been in residence there since 1869. The palace is situated in a rectangular enclosure that contains gardens and numerous imperial halls and residences. The palace has been destroyed and rebuilt eight times; the version currently standing was completed in 1855 and attempts to reproduce the original Heian Period architecture.

SIGHTSEEING IN KYOTO

Notable sites in Kyoto are the canal-lined older streets, the Arashiyama District with its picturesque mountain lake, the Gion and Pontocho geisha quarters, and the Philosophers Walk, a cherry tree–lined pedestrian path that passes many temples and shrines and takes about thirty minutes to complete.

The Gion District, famous for the preservation of forms of traditional architecture and entertainment, remains dotted with old-style Japanese townhouses and teahouses where the patrons of Gion—from the samurai of old to modern-day businessmen—have been entertained by geisha in an exclusive manner for centuries.

“Gradually people begin to fill the room, and at around 7:00 PM we begin the presentation to a packed house. Yuki is translating for me, Jim Elliott takes photos, and we record the entire lecture. I sign copies of SONA, and the lecture appears to be a success, in terms of attendance, reception, and in helping pay for my trip to Japan.”
