Dr. Tom Lee, NMD, APH, appointed Church Archiator

Dr. Thomas S. Lee, NMD, APH

Dear ICC Members and Friends:

I am proud to announce that I have been appointed to the position of Church Archiater (from the Greek: chief physician of a community) by Bishop Gene Savoy, Jr. I am honored to accept that post to assist our Community. I also serve in the capacity of Director of Health Services at The Church’s Healing Center & Spa at Steamboat Hot Springs, where I maintain an office. This letter is to clarify what my services are and what I can do for those who might seek my help.

I am a naturopathic doctor of a 25-year vintage, and that time has been mostly directed to general or family practice of naturopathic medicine as a licensed physician in Arizona and Washington State. My medical skills and experience include a variety of natural modalities, some of which are examination and diagnosis, physical manipulation, acupuncture, pain management, clinical nutrition, bee venom therapy, exercise rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, allergy clearing, and dermal screening energy medicine. I am an eclectic, general physician rather than a specialist, because patients really never have a single, isolated problem that they need to have “fixed.”

In Reno, we are blessed with excellent medical facilities, great urgent care, and skilled specialty practices of medicine. There are also many diagnostic laboratory and imaging services. Perhaps you have experienced these resources as expensive and somewhat confusing. I can help you to interpret test resources or even direct you to appropriate specialties at a more reasonable rate of expense.

The Healing Center’s website at www.steamboatsprings.org lists my services and time charges (which are discounted for ICC members). The front desk staff are also familiar with my services. As for insurance coverage, I work with licensed Nevada physicians and, depending on your policy definitions, I have been accepted as an out-of-policy provider for some plans. Please discuss these matters with your policy administrator.

I welcome you to come to consult with me at The Healing Center if you are looking for a sympathetic assessment of what to do, when, and where to act on your own health concerns. I get the best results with patients who are actively involved in their own health maintenance. If you are not a Reno resident, I am also available by phone appointment. Please call The Healing Center’s front desk at (775) 853-6000 or e-mail me directly at drtom@steamboatsprings.org.

I look forward to being of service.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thomas S. Lee, NMD, APH

Beyond Sungazing

There has been much interest in recent years on the practice of solar light absorption or what is popularly known as “sun gazing.” A quick search online will produce a myriad of Web sites advancing a variety of practices, many of which are highly speculative and misinformed. We know that many ancient cultures and civilizations held the sun in high regard. But in many cases, this, too, went far beyond the commonly held concept of “sun worship.” The great spiritual Masters and Teachers knew that the physical sun was a gateway to another world – a Sun behind the sun. They also knew that sunlight was the conveyer of Intelligence and Information. This Intelligence and Information was not only the source of all life on Earth but able to open or unlock latent spiritual faculties within the human being by means of certain Divine Factors streaming in through the physical from heavenly or Divine Realms. This was the teaching of the great Masters on which the noble religions and philosophies of the world were originally founded. These figures include Moses, Aaron, Jesus, Zoroaster, Buddha, Krishna, Viracocha/Quetzalcoatl, as well as Socrates, Plato, Akhenaten, Confucius, Lao Tzu and many, many others.

These ancient high solar religions were the basis of many of the traditions we are familiar with today, albeit they have mostly degenerated into forms that would be unrecognizable to the original founders and their high teachings, concepts and practices. One common element to be found among them, however, was that the use of the sun as a tool for spiritual awakening or enlightenment was accomplished through a Sacred System of Spiritual Regeneration taught by mystic Schools or holy Orders. This was the case with Jesus and the Essenes, the Aaronic Priesthood, Quetzalcoatl’s sun temples in the Americas, as well as for Plato and his Academy. But why was this? The reason was and is that the spiritual seeker employing the use of the sun’s vast energies must adhere to certain spiritual disciplines, ethics and codes in order to benefit in the best possible way and not cause damage – physical, psychic and spiritual – to oneself. Adherence to these disciplines, ethics and codes not only prevents the individual from using the power of the sun for selfish and destructive purposes, but also causes positive affects to the person, the planet, the Universe, and the spiritual Cosmos as a whole.

Today, we are privileged to live in a special Age. It is a time when an old cycle is passing away and a new one is coming into being. This time, whether we call it a New Solar Epoch, the Age of Consciousness, God’s Second Advent, or the dawning of a Golden Age of Light, is ushering in and bringing forth cosmic and spiritual changes never before experienced by the human family which is changing life as we know it. It is “now” that has been longed for and awaited by spiritual aspirants and seekers for millennia. As a species, we must learn to adapt to the profound changes taking place and the energies that have manifested within the sun which are impacting all living forms. Some might call this new sun the Sixth Sun; others might refer to it as the prophesied Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:2). It is my belief that the world will not perish, but it will surely be transformed. The question is what shape will that transformation take. Will it be for Good? The advancement of Truth Consciousness? And the emergence of a Golden Age of Light and a new race of Light Beings on Earth? I believe it will.

The transcendent System of Cosolargy, a modern word for an ancient spiritual discipline of becoming, has been practiced by solar mystics and spiritual seekers the world over for nearly 60 years. It teaches the individual how to use the light of the physical sun to enhance not only physical attributes but dormant psycho-spiritual faculties, as well. The Force Centers (chakras) are enlivened; they begin to spin and take on personality. Importantly, they are developed in harmony with each other, which is so often not the case. In time, the practicing solar adept penetrates beyond physical sunlight into Worlds of Light, a place beyond the physical but from where it emerged. By the application of Cosolargy, an ultra-organism is developed – the spiritual Light Body of which so many speak, but of which so little is known. The process takes one on a personal journey where one can retrace their origin to the Godhead and escape the cycle of life and death. It is a magnificent experience, and one which goes far beyond mere sun gazing.

What’s Wrong with the Sun?

The Communiqué staff thought this article on sunspots published in the Washington Post, and the images that accompany it, may be of general interest to Community members: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/21/AR2010062104114.html

The article, “Absence of sunspots make scientists wonder if they’re seeing a calm before a storm of energy,” by Stuart Clark, is abridged and adapted from the full article, “What’s wrong with the sun?” which appeared June 14 in the New Scientist and can be read in full online (with a subscription) at www.newscientist.com.

Preparing for the Mission to India

At the end of April 2010, Jamilian University chancellor Sean Savoy sent a letter to all Community members to ask them to perform a special technique for the protection of the head bishop and his companions, who were traveling to India on a journey to visit with members of the Satya-chetana Movement, who are collaborating with us to bring the Teachings of Light and Cosolargy to India and into the Hindu-Brahman-Vedic tradition.

The small group of travelers were also there on a quest to visit with other Hindu and Buddhist leaders, most notably His Holiness, the Seventeenth Karmapa, who is the Black Hat lama of Tibet; and to pave the way for a future pilgrimage of The Community, which Community members will be invited to participate in.

During the group’s visit in India — from April 22 to May 20 — members of the Community at the Center in Northern Nevada, as well as Cosolargists throughout the world, were asked to commune with them through the sun and pray for their protection. (Details were explained in the homily delivered by Bishop Gene Savoy Jr. on April 17, 2010. See the transcript of this homily in FROM THE PULPIT.)

Valentine’s Day Weekend At Spa Huge Success

As you certainly would have known if you were working there Valentine’s Day weekend, the Spa was very busy. The red roses given out to clients on Valentine’s Day were met with delight and pleasure, and they imparted a touch of class worth fostering.

The revenue numbers told that Sunday February 14, 2010, was the most profitable day in the Spa’s history. For the entire Valentine’s Day week, revenue was up 7 percent over the previous year. In the current economy, this is especially noteworthy. The crowds may have been responding to the TV spot done on the spa as a romantic destination earlier in the year. (See story and video in February 1, 2010, postings under “Special Reports, Steamboat.”)

The massage therapists were booked all day, as were the tub rooms. While everyone working at the Spa felt considerable fatigue at the close of the weekend, they were able to take pride in a job well done.

Hot Springs Featured as Romantic Destination

Steamboat Hot Springs was featured as a romantic couples destination in a five-minute spot on CBS Channel 2 in Reno. TV-host Jenifer Rose interviewed Sean Savoy, president of the Healing Center & Spa, for the Valentine’s Day episode of “The Plush Life.” Watch the video here as posted on the healing center’s Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=105173906188285&ref=mf

New entity formed to promote Sonatherapy

In early November, members of the Sona Working Group — The Reverend Gary Buchanan, together with Sonatherapy researchers Erik Larson, Adam Reed, Steven Satra, and Richard Skalsky — met to discuss formation of a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) to oversee their research and development projects. The group formed the corporation in Nevada to undertake further research and to develop new equipment. The corporation, named Holosona Group, was incorporated on November 25, 2009. The new LLC discussed final preparations for the new Sonatherapy unit and applicators being developed for Steamboat Hot Springs. A DVD for the company is also in the works.
