“The Artist and the Mystic Share a Dilemma”

2016-REP-Artist+Muse1

“The earthly artist, because perception brings with it the imperative longing for expression, tries to give us in color, sound or words a hint of his ecstasy, his glimpse of truth. Only those who have tried, know how small a fraction of his vision he can, under the most favorable circumstances, contrive to represent. The mystic, too, tries very hard to tell an unwilling world his secret. But in his case, the difficulties are enormously increased. First, there is the huge disparity between his unspeakable experience and the language which will most nearly suggest it. Next, there is the great gulf fixed between his mind and the mind of the world. His audience must be … caught us to something of his state, before they can be made to understand.” ~Evelyn Underhill

“Many people don’t realize it, but it is quite true that artists often struggle with trying to express the images or thoughts in their mind. We know that many great painters have actually destroyed some of their own works by painting something new over the original because they were simply not satisfied with it. Composers will sometimes rework their compositions over and over trying to get them just right, and some musicians will play a song over and over trying to get it just the way they want it. This is true of virtually all artists, and especially if they are inspired by a certain degree of spiritual awareness, or have a spiritual muse that they may not even be aware of. Georgia O’Keeffe was frustrated that others couldn’t see the beauty in the desert that she saw, so she blew up tiny desert flowers into giant ones on canvas. She continued to do the same with other flowers making those giant flowers her signature style (along with desert scenes).

“The mystic, or spiritual adept, has a similar dilemma to that of the artists, but more so as Ms. Underhill says. Not only is the mystic trying to communicate a spiritual vision that is uniquely his to other people , but he is often trying to do this with people who have no spiritual awareness at all.”

“A Second Sun Made of Mirror Matter?”

2016-REP-mirror-matter.3313794

“Renowned researcher Robert Schoch, Ph.D. has written, in a recent article (Atlantis Rising magazine #115 Jan/Feb 2016) about the possibility of a ‘mirror matter’ companion to our own visible Sun. Two months ago I posted a blog on this site about the possibility of our Sun having a twin star companion orbiting beyond (and sometimes through) the Oort Cloud. The evidence is there for a dwarf star or very large planet that we cannot yet see, but can assess the effects of.”

“The Divine Spark that Awakens the Soul”

Night sky praise

“The difference at this point between a Great Entity and a Divine Spark is one of degree but not one of kind for the Great Entity has experience of all the Rays. …
“Certain of the atoms ‘brought over’ from the Cosmos to the Universe by the work of the great Entity became the traveling Atoms of the Universe. … These atoms ‘brought over’ by the great Entity, which become the Divine Sparks are those which in their journeying to the center have their ‘track in space’ impressed with the Logoidal Image and influence. Thereafter these Divine Sparks become conditioned by the Logoidal Consciousness. …
“There are, therefore, two ways of considering the Divine Spark. You may look at it from the point of view of the Cosmos or from the point of view of Solar Logoidal evolution: but, in reality the Divine Spark is one thing having its origin in the Unmanifest from which it derives its existence and energy.” ~Dion Fortune

“There is a lot of information in the quoted text, and much of it is hard to follow, but we will concentrate on the important points related to the subject of this post: the Divine Spark. Actually, it is not completely clear what Ms. Fortune means when she uses the term, but to most of us, the Divine Spark is that which awakens our spirit and soul. It is the tongues of fire that appeared over the Apostles when they became enlightened. It is the flash of spiritual light that awakened St. Francis while he watched a sunrise from his sickbed, It is the bright light that reflected off a pewter bowl into the eyes of Jacob Boehme awakening his spiritual life.”

In the Presence of the Light

2015-REP-mountain2-BouletteH

“It is lamentable, that since the fall of Adam, we should be so continually cheated and befooled by the Devil, to think that we are not the Children of God, nor of his essence. He continually puts the monstrous shape or form into our thoughts, as he did into our mother Eve, which she gazed too much upon, and by her representing it in her imagination, she became a child of this World, wholly naked and vain, and void of understanding: And so he does to us also still continually; he would bring us into another Image, as he did Eve, that we might be ashamed to appear in the Presence of the Light and Power of God, as Adam and Eve were, when they hid themselves behind the trees.” ~Jacob Boehme

The first thing we need to get straight is the whole idea of Adam and Eve. Adam & Eve are an allegorical representation of the beginning of the human race in the material world, they are not intended to be literal, actual, persons. Next, we have to look at what their “sin” really was, and why they were kicked out of paradise because of it.

The sin of Adam and Eve was not in eating apples—which it never says they did in any version of the Bible that I have read. The bible does say they ate from the “tree of knowledge of good and evil.” That is not an apple tree. It is not a tree of any kind, at least not in the literal sense.

Sharing Frequencies and Energy

2015-REP-Energy-Vibrations-Lotus_Kirlian

“The more you match other people’s varying frequencies without returning to your own center and home frequency, the more confused—and confusing to others—you become. … When you match a field with a low vibration and feel worse for doing it, the action may be unconscious, but it’s still your choice. … Because we tend to match each others frequencies, you might make a game of becoming a clear space in the world. You might ‘strike your tuning fork’ to radiate high-frequency energy to everyone you encounter. … Also note that groups have inner blueprints, or morphic fields, created by the collective.” ~Penney Peirce

Just as a tuning fork will pick up the frequency of another vibrating one and start vibrating at the same frequency, or as close to it as it can get, so do we. When we are around other people, our vibration rate is affected by theirs, and theirs is affected by ours. But just as the moons gravitational pull on the Earth is much less than the gravitation pull the Earth exerts on the moon, some people’s frequencies affect us more than others, and to some degree we can control this.

The Great Destiny of Man

Concept illustration of positive energy and enlightenment

“O Great and Bountiful One, … You prepared a compatible place for the spirits of man, a place wherein man rules under the decrees of you everlasting and unchanging Law. … The spirits of men rule in the mysterious domains governing the sun and the moon, the stars and the nightwatchers, the mistmen and the hidden caves of power. … You have created man in the likeness of an original conceived in your mysterious abode, and the manner of his life is fixed according to your plan. Great and wonderful is the ultimate destiny of man, who as yet, has progressed but a few steps along the road towards the goal of life. Yet, you have opened his ear to mysterious and wonderful things.” ~The Kolbrin Bible (SCL:20)

This particular chapter of the Kolbrin Bible seems to be confusing and mixing spiritual things and the non-spiritual world of matter, yet a spiritual student can glean some useful information from it.

We are told that God has prepared “a compatible place for the spirits of man.” That is absolutely true, but the place for the spirits of men is the spiritual realms—often called Heaven—not the physical or material level. Yet, it is true that God’s Divine Law governs the physical realm just as much as it governs the spiritual ones, the only difference being that in the physical world, the laws of nature are in between those of God and man so it may seem like God’s Law doesn’t rule here, but it does. Although Nature’s Law is dominant on the physical plane, Nature’s laws must always conform to God’s Law and therefore God’s Law is still in control on the lower levels.

Center of the Light of God

Woman stands in praise before a beautiful night sky.

Woman stands in praise before a beautiful night sky.

“Dear Children, consider, how mightily and powerfully, with wonders, miracles, and works, the Spirit of God went forth in word and deed in the times of the Apostles, and after, till Antichrist and the spirit of self-pride, with his invented laws and astral wisdom broke forth. … And so the man of pride makes as if himself had Divine Power upon Earth, and knows not in his blindness that the Holy Ghost will not be bound. …
“But if any would attain Salvation, he must be born again, through the water in the center of the birth of life, which springs up in the Center of the Light of God, for which end God the Father has by His Son commanded Baptism, that so we might have a Law, and a remarkable sign or remembrance.” ~Jacob Boehme

Yes, in the Time of Jesus and his Apostles, the Holy Spirit was strong in the world and materialism was kept in check while true religion and spirituality was allowed to thrive. But as Boehme indicates, that soon changed through the work of the Antichrist and his minions.

Whether you think of the Antichrist as an evil person, a spirit, or just a force that encourages evil and anarchy, doesn’t really matter. What does matter is that this Thing has, for thousands of years, interfered with any attempts by man to climb out of the hole of matter, the cave of materialism, and communicate once again with the angels, the Beings of Light, and God Himself.

God Isn’t Punishing Us, We Punish Ourselves

2015-REP-LawNature

“The Yogi teachings related to the law of Karma do not teach us that sin is an offense against the Power which brought us into being, so much as it is an offense against ourselves. We cannot injure the Absolute, nor harm It in any way. But we may harm each others, and in so doing harm ourselves. The Yogis teach that sin is largely a matter of ignorance and misunderstanding of our true nature … The Yogis view the sinning soul as the parent does the child who will persist in playing with forbidden things [until he is injured]. The injury is not a punishment for the disobedience … but comes in obedience to a natural law which is invariable. … The parent sought to save the child the pain of the burn, and yet the child-nature persisted in experimenting, and was taught the lesson.” ~William Walker Atkinson

Many people believe that God Himself is punishing us when we do something wrong or something stupid. As Mr. Atkinson points out, that is neither true, nor necessary. God simply has laws, as does nature, and those who insist those laws can be violated quickly find they can’t.

Recollection of Our True Self

Hope

“You will have noticed, as with practice your familiarity with the state of Recollection has increased, that the kind of consciousness which it brings with it, the sort of attitude which it demands of you, conflict sharply with the consciousness and the attitude which you have found so appropriate to your ordinary life in the past. They make this old attitude appear childish, unworthy, at last absurd. By this first deliberate effort to attend to Reality you are at once brought face to face with that dreadful revelation of disharmony, unrealness, and interior muddle which the blunt moralists call ‘conviction of sin.’ Never again need those moralists point out to you the inherent silliness of your earnest pursuit of an impermanent thing: your solemn concentration upon the game of getting on.” ~Evelyn Underhill

Recollection can result in this reevaluation of priorities, just as Ms. Underhill wrote. This is not just ordinary recollection, of course. Remembering where you left your car keys won’t have this effect, nor will remembering the name of your third-grade teacher. The type of Recollection Underhill is talking about is the recollection of your true nature: who you truly are, where you came from, what is the purpose of your live, that sort of thing. Mystics and adepts call this “showing your real face.” In this case, showing your real face to yourself, not necessarily to others.

Divine Music

Violin with wings

Violin with wings

“I will rejoice and sing songs of praise with a full heart; I will shun the hypocrisy of moving lips. I will be joyful in the fullness of spirit at the beginning and at the end of the appointed seasons. The decrees of God are fulfilled at the appointed times, and the days of labor pass one into the other. … I will raise my voice, and my hands will move with the music, I will pluck strings and send sweet musical sound rising to my God, and my breath will fill pipes with tunes to His Glory. When the sky blushes in the dawning, I will lift up my voice in gladness, and when it reddens in this evening, I will not remain silent” ~The Kolbrin Bible SCL:18:9-11

This is a case where scripture is meaningful as allegory, but also when taken literally. We will look at both, starting with a literal interpretation.
