“’MRI’ of the Sun’s interior motions challenges existing explanations for sunspots”

A team of scientists has created an “MRI” of the Sun’s interior plasma motions, shedding light on how it transfers heat from its deep interior to its surface. In order to develop their “MRI” of the Sun’s plasma flows, the researchers examined high-resolution images of the Sun’s surface, shown above, taken by the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) onboard NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. Using a 16-million pixel camera, HMI measures motions on the Sun’s surface caused by convection. PHOTO: NASA

“A team of scientists has created an “MRI” of the Sun’s interior plasma motions, shedding light on how it transfers heat from its deep interior to its surface. The result, which appears in the journal the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, upends our understanding of how heat is transported outwards by the Sun and challenges existing explanations of the formation of sunspots and magnetic field generation.”

If nothing else, this article shows that we don’t know what we think we know about the workings of the sun.

“On the Trail of the Nostradamus Code”

PHOTO: drturi.com

PHOTO: drturi.com

After seeing Dr. Louis Turi on a TV interview, I was impressed enough to subscribe to his Cosmic Code website (drturi.com) to see his predictions for 2014 and to learn more about his type of astrology. He uses the “Cosmic Dragon” (the nodes of the moon) as a central feature in his astrological readings, something I have always considered more meaningful than a simple sun sign if you want to know a person’s path and personality, since in my experience it has often been more “on” than a sun sign.

Turi claims to use the form of astrology that Nostradamus used and that has proved very accurate. Personally, I think he has succumbed somewhat to the 4th dimensional forces that he uses (or that use him), and his ego can be a turnoff, but getting past that, I find his work of interest. I was interested in how to use Nostradamus’s astrology, which is why I subscribed, despite Turi himself. At any rate, he has given a number of predictions for 2014–2016, one of which I found very interesting. It goes: “A new breed of cosmic spiritual leaders made up of highly advanced spiritual human beings will be offered a voice and a national stage, offering clarification and preparing the way for universal brotherhood unification.”

As I have had a sense that 2014 is going to be a watershed year for the ICC, I thought that this prediction gave some confirmation to that. Of course, I understand that once we are in the sun we transcend the “fate” determined by our stars, so I don’t feel “subject” to his readings, and so that would have to be true for the Community itself as well, but remaining detached and “light” (pun intended) about it, I think it will be fun to see what happens.

“Earth’s Magnetic Field: Is it a Global Brain?”

 2014-REP-solar_system_pia06890_wide

“The Earth is affected by the planets around the Sun and their positioning, which is also associated with the sunspot formation and changes in the solar wind. Sometimes when a planet is relatively near Earth, and the Moon lines up with it, there is also a magnetic disturbance (Payne, 2008). Even the thoughts and feelings of humans, when synchronized, also affect the solar activity and therefore the GM field, (Payne, 1986).”

Could this be what astrologers have been trying to get across all along?

“Belief in immortality hard-wired?”

Study examines development of children’s ‘prelife’ reasoning

PHOTO: Natalie Emmons

Date: January 27, 2014
Source: Boston University
Summary: “By examining children’s ideas about “prelife,” the time before conception, researchers found results which suggest that our bias toward immortality is a part of human intuition that naturally emerges early in life. And the part of us that is eternal, we believe, is not our skills or ability to reason, but rather our hopes, desires and emotions.”

“Most people, regardless of race, religion or culture, believe they are immortal. That is, people believe that part of themselves-some indelible core, soul or essence-will transcend the body’s death and live forever. But what is this essence? Why do we believe it survives? And why is this belief so unshakable?”

Robert Anderson has this to say about the article and the research it presents:

“I think it is typical materialistic science that believes religion has “cognitive roots” and that intuition is hardwired into the brain—the brain being the source of the mind. They still have it all backwards and always will because their premises are erroneous; they’re concluding we are what we feel, desire, and hope. I’m so glad we’re not that, but they seem to be getting an inkling into the collective unconscious, the psyche, and concluding that that is our “eternal” selves. This is all that materialistic science can come up with in regard to both religion and the soul; it’s perhaps interesting because scientists are at least pondering preexistence, but they are proceeding from faulty premises so are always coming to faulty conclusions.”

“’Echoes’ of the Big Bang Misinterpreted?”

PHOTO: Discovery News

PHOTO: Discovery News

“Seeing is believing, except when you don’t believe what you see.

“This is according to veteran radio astronomer Gerrit Verschuur, of the University of Memphis, who has an outrageously unorthodox theory that if true, would turn modern cosmology upside down.

“He proposes that at least some of the fine structure seen in the all-sky plot of the universe’s cosmic microwave background is really the imprint of our local interstellar neighborhood. It has nothing to do with how the universe looked 380,000 years after the Big Bang, but how nearby clouds of cold hydrogen looked a few hundred years ago.”

This article proposes an interesting alternative theory and proposes a possible rethinking of how our cosmic neighborhood works.

Gregory Sams Interviewed on His Book Sun of God

2014-REP-Sun-of-God-COVER

Ancient Origins recently interviewed Gregory Sams on his book Sun of God, and the interview appears on YouTube. Gregory Sams is the inventor of the “veggie-burger” and the propounder of other revolutionary ideas.

Here are a few words from the blurb for the book on Sams’ web site:

“In Sun of gOd, cultural pioneer and philosopher Gregory Sams takes a fresh look at our solar benefactor. As Sams sees it cultures throughout the ancient world were right to recognize the Sun as a living, conscious being. The implications of a conscious provider in the sky are startling, though often obvious — and in harmony with science, logic and common sense. Sun of gOd explores exciting new ground, adding a crucial piece to the jigsaw-puzzle picture we have of the cosmos. In the light of a conscious Sun, Sams looks at our hard-wired tendency for religion, notions of god and divinity, our place in the firmament, star formation, intelligent light, electromagnetism, feedback, chaos theory, free will, the four elements, and the near-universal self-organization of systems from the bottom up.”

In the Ancient Origins interview, Sams states that the sun is a conscious being and that, while moderns have a hard time admitting the concept, ancients founded their religions on it. The concept is not new to us, but it is seemingly revolutionary today.

Read the introduction, watch the video, and tell us what YOU think. What would you as a Cosolargist say to Mr. Sams? And what could you add to his comments?

(Please note that the book discussed above is not to be confused with the book familiar to many Community members, Jesus Christ, Sun of God: Ancient Cosmology and Early Christian Symbolism by David Fideler (1993). Jesus Christ, Sun of God reveals many of the sources for the early Christian Gnosis and places special emphasis on the Hellenistic doctrine of the “Solar Logos” and the early Christian symbolism that depicted Christ as the Spiritual Sun—the illumination source of order, harmony, and spiritual insight.)

“Breaking the limits of classical physics”

In the quantum optical laboratories at the Niels Bohr Institute, researchers have conducted experiments that show that light breaks with the classical physical principles. The studies show that light can have both an electrical and a magnetic field, but not at the same time. That is to say, light has quantum mechanical properties. PHOTO: Niels Bohr Institute.

“With simple arguments, researchers show that nature is complicated! Researchers from the Niels Bohr Institute have made a simple experiment that demonstrates that nature violates common sense – the world is different than most people believe. The experiment illustrates that light does not behave according to the principles of classical physics, but that light has quantum mechanical properties.”

Even though this article is a year old, it reveals in summary form some new and groundbreaking information.

“Can You See Your Own Brain Waves?”

PHOTO: Discover.com

PHOTO: Discover.com

Consociate Michael McIntyre, who sent us the article, says, “It has been the legacy of this Church, for over sixty years, to ‘meditate’ with open eyes. We forget that this is unusual. In the arena of higher consciousness disciplines, this practice is one of the many things that make us unique. It clearly draws a distinct boundary.”

“Jungian Active Imagination or meditation practices have a preparatory stage. This transitional stage nudges dominant brain wave activity into the Alpha range, which is related to calmness, more optimism, and a sense for creative flexibility. Usually this involves slow deep breaths, evoking calmness and closing the eyes. When the eyes are closed, Alpha waves increase and are strongest as scientific literature has long suggested. But are closed eyes really necessary for meditation? A recent study shows an association between viewing certain visual images—especially flickering visual images—and increased Alpha wave activity. Can visual contact with geometric archetypes help us prompt active imagination or meditative states?”

Michael suggests that we check out the review of the 2013 research study.

“Bosnian Pyramids in the News!”

Throughout 2013 we have been hearing about the massive pyramids recently uncovered in Bosnia.

Below are some of the most substantiated and interesting posts that Community members have sent us.

To begin with, here is the link to the archeological organization that is working at uncovering the pyramids (without much outside help, I might add): www.bosnianpyramids.org.

One of the most interesting articles on that main site is this one: “Artificial Concrete Used to Build Pyramid Walls.” Concrete on a building supposed to be 25,000 years old!

In the article below, Houston anthropologist Dr. Semir Osmanagich, who is heading the efforts to explore and uncover the Bosnian pyramids, declares that irrefutable scientific evidence exists of ancient civilizations with advanced technology that leaves science no choice but to change our recorded history:

“Acknowledging that we are witness to fundamental proof of advanced civilizations dating back over 29,000 years and an examination of their societal structures forces the World to reconsider its understanding of the development of civilization and history,” explains Dr. Semir Osmanagich. “Conclusive data at the Bosnian Pyramid site revealed in 2008 and confirmed this year by several independent labs who conducted radio carbon testing dates the site at 29,400 +/-400 years minimum.”

And here is another rather well-written general article on the find: “Massive European Pyramids Discovered.” This is how it begins:

“The existence of an original civilization on the continent of Europe which predates the civilizations in the Middle East, has to a large degree been ignored by traditional history writers, particularly those who wrote during the dominant Christian era in Europe.”
