“Listen to Eerie Sounds from Echoing Black Holes”

How black holes can swallow stars

Millions of elusive black holes hide in plain sight across the Milky Way galaxy, only giving away their presence occasionally through bursts of X-ray light when they feed on stars.

Astronomers have been able to pin down the locations of eight rare pairings of black holes and the stars orbiting them, thanks to the X-ray echoes they release. Previously, there were only two known pairs emitting X-ray echoes in our galaxy.

Black hole binaries occur when these celestial phenomena are orbited by a star, which they sometimes use to siphon gas and dust as a snack.

The echoes have been converted into sound waves that just may keep you awake at night.

“The Sunshine Makers”

“In 1935, Ted Eshbaugh directed The Sunshine Makers, one of the most popular cartoons ever created. It was played in theaters across the country. Audiences loved it because it lifted them out of the emotional depression of the Great Depression. In the early days of television, it was standard fare on Saturday mornings. I remember, as a child of four, watching it for the first time. It left a deep impression of optimism in me, a conviction that evil people were afraid and sad, and, that if they could be infused with the light, they could be transformed.”
– Excerpt of a review of the cartoon by Wayne Purdin from The Sun Gazette, newsletter of The International Sun Imbibers’ Society, Winter, 2007 (Vol. 1, Issue 5)

“Nalanda: India’s ancient university rising from the ashes”

Founded in the 5th Century, India’s Nalanda University is believed to be the world’s first residential university. Established more than 500 years before Oxford University, at its peak Nalanda hosted over 10,000 students from around the world and was considered one of the greatest centres of learning in the ancient world.

The university was destroyed around the end of the 12th Century, its legendary library burnt to the ground and much of its ancient knowledge lost. It wasn’t until the 19th Century that the ruins of Nalanda were rediscovered, and now, around 800 years after it was lost, the university is being relaunched for the modern age.

“The empire the Aztecs couldn’t conquer”

Image credit: Brian Overcast / Alamy Stock Photo

The P’urhépechas were one of the only indigenous groups in Mexico the Aztecs failed to conquer – but despite that feat, they were nearly lost to history.

“This is the legacy of our people,” my uncle said as we gazed at the pyramids. We were not in Egypt, but rather in the town of Tzintzuntzan, in Mexico’s south-western state of Michoacán. The pyramids, or yácatas, looming in front of us were uniquely round and made of volcanic stone – perhaps the most intact relics of the P’urhépechas, a pre-Hispanic indigenous group that once reigned here, but that most people have never heard of. In fact, I’d never heard of them either until a few months ago, when I found out that I was a direct descendant.

“Shock result in particle experiment could spark physics revolution”

Scientists say they have found “strong evidence” for the existence of a new force of nature

Scientists just outside Chicago have found that the mass of a sub-atomic particle is not what it should be.

The measurement is the first conclusive experimental result that is at odds with one of the most important and successful theories of modern physics.

The team has found that the particle, known as a W boson, is more massive than the theories predicted.

The result has been described as “shocking” by Prof David Toback, who is the project co-spokesperson.

The discovery could lead to the development of a new, more complete theory of how the Universe works.

“If the results are verified by other experiments, the world is going to look different.” he told BBC News. “There has to be a paradigm shift. The hope is that maybe this result is going to be the one that breaks the dam.

“Archaeologists say they’ve found a lost 4,500-year-old sun temple in Egypt”

Archaeologists have uncovered what they believe to be one of Egypt’s lost “sun temples,” dating from the mid-25th century BCE.

The team uncovered the remains buried beneath another temple at Abu Ghurab, around 12 miles south of Cairo, mission co-director Massimiliano Nuzzolo, an assistant professor of Egyptology at the Polish Academy of Sciences’ Institute for Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures in Warsaw, told CNN on Monday.

In 1898, archaeologists working at the site discovered the sun temple of Nyuserra, also known as Neuserre or Nyuserre, the sixth king of the 5th dynasty, who ruled Egypt between 2400 and 2370 BCE.

Now discoveries made during the latest mission suggest that it was built on top of the remains of another sun temple.

“Winnemucca Petroglyphs | Were The Oldest Rock Carvings in America Created by Giants?”

During the 2019 Convocation, a group of the attendees visited the petroglyph site near Winnemucca Lake in Nevada. The previous year, the investigators of Megalithomania in the United Kingdom visited the site as well and created a video of the site and commented on the petroglyphs.

In June 2018 Hugh Newman and JJ Ainsworth investigated America’s oldest petroglyphs near Winnemucca Lake in Nevada and were astonished by the size of them, the deep carvings and complexity of what they saw, and how similar they are to ancient rock art in Ireland and other areas of the ancient world. They are located in the vicinity of legendary red-haired giants and could well have been carved by these prehistoric titans. Researchers at the University of Colorado, Boulder conducted a study that dated the rock carvings to between 10,500 and 14,800 years ago. Larry Benson found that the rocky outcrop was exposed at both these times from the water in the lake so the giant petroglyphs could have been carved during either of these periods. The carvings include the earliest example of ‘cup marks’ that are also found at Gobekli Tepe in Turkey (9,600 BC). Hugh also discovered something remarkable on the nearby dry lake bed, a huge geoglyph of spiralling circles, that has never before been reported. Please take notice that permission was granted from a Paiute elder at the Pyramid Lake Visitors Center, who, with his grandson, showed us exactly where the site was and we followed the car to the site.

“ANCIENT DEFORESTATION AND BABYLON / Tartaria Exposed!”

In this video, the people at Mind Unveiled on YouTube cover the recent deforestation of Ireland and Britain and the effect that this had on magic:

“The trees inspired us in many ways through spirit, music, and wisdom. This music developed into a magical language that allowed the user to obtain a magical consciousness. The language allowed for powerful magi to affect the material realm in ways that aren’t fully possible now. An ancient peoples spread this knowledge of language, music, and spirituality around the world leading to the commonly known story of Babylon. The prime example for the intellect. This all changed after a psychic cataclysmic event that resulted in the confusion of languages.

“The elite Hebrew priests knew the power that words contained so the ancient Phoenicians edited this ancient magical language and began suppressing the knowledge of magic. Our words have become out of tune, out of alignment and now more then ever we need to reconnect with our higher faculties. We must break away from the constrictions of modern language and strive to develop our inner being.”

“Five ways the world could end”

According to physics, the end of the world is inevitable. Heat death, the big crunch, the big rip, vacuum decay or ‘bounce’ are all ways it could occur.

Physicist Katie Mack explains how likely each of these scenarios are.

“Some Scientists Believe the Universe Is Conscious”

PHOTO: PM IMAGES GETTY IMAGES

  • Is the universe a conscious being, like a gigantic widely dispersed human brain?
  • Scientists have long questioned how consciousness and science mix.
  • Two mathematicians have turned one theory into a crunchable math model.

In upcoming research, scientists will attempt to show the universe has consciousness. Yes, really. No matter the outcome, we’ll soon learn more about what it means to be conscious—and which objects around us might have a mind of their own.
