Jackie Dion (July 19, 1963 – August 24, 2025) passed away at the age of 62 at her residence in Reno, Nevada.  A Memorial Service was held to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Holy Child.  In attendance were members of the Reno Church Community and many of her friends from Nevada and California. The service was officiated by Bishop Gene Savoy, Jr. He was assisted by the Right Reverend Father Robert Petrovich, the Reverend Canon Amanda Buchanan, and the Reverend Radheka Patel Savoy. The music was coordinated by the Reverend Mother Elizabeth Reece and the Reverend Michael McIntyre, and the Reverend Stephan Fuelling was videographer and photographer. A reception followed at Bishopstead on Carmel with food prepared by the Reverends Noriko Roy and Radheka Patel Savoy.

Jackie joined The Community in September of 2024 and passed before she had completed her first year of the Academy I Program.

She was a huge supporter of the Steamboat Hot Springs Healing Center and donated a great deal to the 2024 roofing project. She would use the sauna and the baths almost on a daily basis when in Reno. She loved the Sanctuary and sunrise services and always felt very uplifted when she attended. She studied each of the Academy texts in detail, asking many questions. And she felt the techniques were helping her to heal from the many scars from her past.

The Eulogy, delivered by life-long friend Tracy Templeton, recounted Jackie’s life from childhood to her introduction to The Community:                       

Opening

• Good morning and thank you for coming to Celebrate the life of Jackie Dion, My Lifelong friend & Chosen Sister

How We Met

• How many people are lucky enough to have a best friend for over 50 years? I am, and that’s pretty rare!
• Jackie and I met over 50 years ago at my father’s ranch in San Jose CA – She was 9, and I was 12.
• She rented horses at our ranch and later bought her 1^st horse Tumbleweed.
• For many years we rode our horses together every weekend & all summer long from sun-up till sun-down. We became inseparable.
• I did my best to protect her, taught her how to drive in my 69’ Firebird, look like a cool teenager and have fun (good times!).
• We loved like sisters, and we fought like sisters, but we always got through it because we had Mutual Trust & Respect for one another.
• We always had each other’s backs always, even when it was really, really hard.
• Her parents gave me my 1^st job at Dysan Corp when I needed it most as a 20-year-old single young mother. That kicked off the start of my career and ultimately secured my owe family’s future – I thanked Norm & Jenny for that whenever I got the chance to see them.

We shared many Adventures

• Jackie loved to travel the world seeing much of Europe, North & South America. We took many of those trips together. Next year we planned to start seeing parts of Asia. That will now have to wait…
• 1 of Jackie’s favorite quotes was, “Not all who wander are lost -They’re just on an adventure.” She loved adventures & making memories.
• She made memories wherever she went and always left an impression.
• We hiked big mountains around the world, skied, scuba dove, kayaked, drove cool cars & motorcycles (she did) and we rode fast horses.
• As teenagers we dated bad boys, grew out of them, married good men and raised children. We mutually loved each other’s children!
• We loved live music & going to concerts. We once attended an after party with the band Lover Boy and slept in the back of her yellow step side chevy truck so we could stay at the party well into the night. That was quite an adventure!  She always loved telling people that story!
• My daughter Amy recently introduced her to music from Jelly Roll. Jackie was inspired by his lyrics and loved his story. So, in July I took her to see him for her birthday along with my family. It would turn out to be the last concert we would attend together.
• Over our 5 decades of friendship, we shared lots of laughs, many tears, worked together, traveled and made so many memories that I’ll cherish forever.
• Our bond was stronger than family. We chose to be family and fought for our relationship. She had my back, and I had hers – and I always will. Even though she is gone, I still have her back and will continue to protect her.

Jackie renewed her Faith   

• It made me happy when she found her way back to her faith through Bishop Gene’s congregation & his friendship, but mostly because of his genuine friendship.
• This was important to me since I was also her Godmother at her Catholic school confirmation in 1975. This wasn’t typical given our age proximity, but at only 13 years old she chose me to be her God Mother and her parents approved. A few years later I chose her as Godmother to my daughter Amy and later she appointed herself as Godmother to my son Colton and Granddaughter Holly. She loved my children very much, like they were her own children.
• I’m thankful over the past few years she grew to know & love my fiancé Brian & approved of our plans to get married next year = This was a big deal since she thought either of us should ever marry again and wanted me to agree (make a pact) to that – BUT she saw what a good man he is, came to love him too and gave us her blessing.
• I only wish she could be with us on our big day!! But, I know she’ll be there in spirit, watching from a front row seat we will have set aside in her honor with the rest of my/her family.

Jackie was Passionate, Energetic & Wicked Smart!

• She loved adventures and always growing & learning new things.
• She became a voracious reader, enjoyed many sports, Jordan Peterson (who I also took her to see along with my son Colton and Brian), Photography, Sketching, and Journaling ideas of all kinds.
• Jackie was fascinated by the Royal family and admired strong women like Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana & Kate Middleton, who’s pictures and books you can find throughout her home.
• She also loved characters like Rosie the Rivetter & Doctor Seuss.
• Jackie followed politics, economics and enjoyed healthy debates.
• She was a HUGE fan of Elon Musk, Space exploration, and his work with DODG.
• She was a conservative American Patriot who loved her country.
• Jackie had an Infectious laugh, was witty and had very HIGH energy – too much for some people! > Keeping up with her fast paced intellectual mind required patience and lots of energy.
• Her creativity led to restoring her beautiful home here in Reno, building businesses & creating Non-profit charities to help others.
• Animals brought her a lot of joy — her Cats were her babies, they now live with me as she wanted. And she loved horses – both domestic & wild. We were recently working on a plan to help protect the wild horses here in Reno. I hope to follow through with that plan for her.

Her Strength – Jackie was a Survivor!!!!

• She survived childhood illnesses & trauma.
• Jackie battled & beat Cancer, Bells Palsy, Limes decease, divorce challenges, and many other setbacks along her life’s path.
• In 2016 she lost both parents in less then 30 days. Shortly after that she lost her favorite Aunt Claire who she loved so much. These were really hard losses for her and she spent the next 9 years grieving the impact of those losses and some others that followed.
• But with determination she always pulled through, rose above it, and not only survived but thrived.
• Jackie loved thrift shopping with her friend Christopher who she felt was more like a son. He was good to her and she loved him very much. She always preferred to recycle and find good deals, often stating, “1 man’s trash, were her treasures.”
• She was wicked smart, creative and even when coming back from setbacks she bounced back and was unstoppable.
• Jackie was close to my mother whom she admired. My Mom often counseled her when she had struggles. One pieces of advice my mother gave Jackie which she cherished and often quoted throughout her life was, “Jackie remember, you’re as good as any and better than most”. That continually inspired her with confidence.
•  It was said to me not long ago by a close friend of hers, “When Jackie was at her best, there weren’t many better”. I couldn’t agree more.
• Even with severe dyslexia Jackie graduated from San Jose State University.  Then with tutoring support from our good friend Lisa Taiz, she went on to work on her graduate degree at University of Santa Clara. A very tough school to get into.
• Her 3^rd application included a paper she wrote called, “Why I ran away with the carnival & chose to live on the road”. Her Dad did NOT approve, but she did it anyway and this time her “creative & entrepreneurial” approach got her in!
• She studied Economics and would later go on to work for Merrill Lynch where she learned a lot about investing, applied it personally and was very successful at it.
• She always valued & respected money, knowing its benefits and the challenges that came with this responsibility > SO, she respected it, invested wisely, then used it to help others.
• She held many good jobs but was most proud of her personal start-up, Onsite Ergonomics, where she designed custom office furniture to help people stay physically healthy and be more productive.
• But her favorite job was working in risk management at the YMCA. Why? > To save children!
• Do you see a common theme? Helping others was a cornerstone throughout Jackies life.

• Her work helping others, helped her to heal herself by helping others.

Jackie’s generosity seemed endless, sharing her own success with others

• She Gave generously to family, friends and her church.
• She helped people who needed a little help that would make a big difference. Like, providing car loans so they could work or get to school, funding college education so they could pursue their dreams, paying for nursing facilities for elder family members, or, just providing a little extra help to make ends meet.
• She also decided to start a Non-profit and asked me to sit on the board of directors. We called it Mydar: “Make Your Dreams a Reality”.
• Our main mission was to help the Planet, Support families, provide financial support for children who worked hard but needed financial help paying for college, and of course helping to save Animals.
• A few major causes we supported were; Girl Scouts, Saving the Bees, her Church, and saving thousands of families in Ukraine, just to name a few.
• She donated to my son Coltons mission called Help People which led to evacuating families off the front lines saving thousands of innocent lives in the Ukraine. The Founder & CEO of Ukraine’s Help People is here with us today to honor her for her incredible contributions to his country.
• My hope is to continue her legacy of giving in as many of these areas as possible.

Jackie’s has left a Legacy of Giving

• Her work helping others, helped her to heal herself by helping others.

• She called me her hero. We protected each other, challenged each other, set proper boundaries and loved each other without limits even when it was hard, all the way until the very end. So, she was also my hero too.
• Jackie was working hard to be more patient, kind and “unapologetically authentic” and she was doing all 3 very well.
• Jackie is at peace now, dancing like the diva queen she always wanted to be, even though she admitted a childhood illness left her with two left feet – BUT, she danced anyway!

Closing

• Jackie will live on forever in my heart and all the hearts she touched, and there are many, so many more than she even realized.
• When I’m faced with important decisions I ask: WWJD, “What would Jesus do?”, but I now also ask, “What would Jackie do?” It often came with some very good advice. She was wise beyond her years on earth.
• I invite everyone to ask WWJD when it feels appropriate & carry a little piece of Jackie forward with you.
• I will miss Jackie so very much but as my son Colton said, “Life is still beautiful, this is the hard part”
• So, my sister-friend, I will carry on as you would want and expect me to do and I’ll miss you greatly.
• But, I will see you in heaven my friend, and WE WILL dance again!!!

“Things that make you go Hmmm…” *

Sometime in early 1988, I was reading a Psychology Today magazine article on the secrets of immortality. It was about an explorer named Douglas Eugene Savoy, who had discovered ways of prolonging human life. He mentions that these ways were the causes of why the ancient people lived to long ages. He had published a book on his finding, so I sent off for it. The book was called: Project-X THE SEARCH FOR THE SECRETS OF IMMORTALITY.

Savoy explains in his book that the human body is engulfed with an existing electromagnetic field, like the magnetic field of the earth. Scientists now believe both fields do exist around the earth and body, and it is believed that the energy fields are sources of life and have the potential of surviving death. Savoy states that if somehow this field could be energized, human intelligence could become heightened. Savoy further states that looking at the sun increases one’s field energy and that could increase health and youthfulness in a human.

After reading his book, I wondered if all that I had read was true and why everybody was not looking at the sun and increasing their energy intake. So later, I decided to send off for more information in hopes of getting a better understanding of his theory (or beliefs). In the period in between, I tried looking at the sun. Well, each time I tried, my eyes filled with water and became very pained. I thought there must be something about looking at the sun that could help people.

I remembered reading about a kid in New York who had rickets. After the first diagnosis of the problem, the kid was placed in the rays of the sun for certain periods of time. The rickets eventually showed signs of regression during the first week of solar exposure. My daughter and son were placed under a white light right after their birth. Both were diagnosed with jaundice. No other medicine was given, only the light treatment; and both children’s conditions improved. I knew that we get Vitamin D from the sun and playing in the sun is good, but is it better inside the body also? These and other thoughts passed through me daily.

I received the information along with a letter from Gene Savoy. In his letter, he said he had researched the subject of light intake for about 30 years, and it had taken him to the countries of Israel, Africa, South America, and China. He also said that his research had caused him to form a church, which he called THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY OF CHRIST, THE CHURCH OF THE SECOND ADVENT. At that time, I was puzzled by the fact that his research project should have led him to start a church. He said his church was not a belief system based solely on the acceptance of Jesus as messiah and savior, but it was a System based upon the application of an ancient oral gospel which made a unique species of man possessed with spiritual attributes given by God. The people or group responsible were called the Essenes — those who protected Jesus from Herod were all under the same System. All this information was interesting and increased my curiosity. However, I was under another belief and a devoted Baptist. I was reared with the idea of Jesus being my personal Savior. Savoy was declaring that my religious beliefs were not right, and this was hard for me to understand. I wondered how his System could be the only one that God recognizes and not the Baptist religion. Besides, a large part of the world population believed as I did, but worshiped in diverse ways.

At that time, I just could not handle what he was saying, but I desperately wanted to further understand how the sun increased human health.

There were two ways of entering his program. One was to join in his research of the Sun as a team member or join his church. I did not want to join his church at that time, so the answer was to join his research team. I joined his research group and later received information and techniques for looking at the sun. He told in the letter that I would not be able to tell or show the information to anyone because done any other way [looking at the Sun] could cause destructive forces to harm those individuals not trained in the proper way.

I still didn’t fully understand what he was saying, but blinded by the fact of increased health and longevity I was willing to keep it a secret. I also was to keep notes and listen to tapes for the Process to work. And from time to time, he would send me special techniques and projects that needed my immediate attention. Additionally, I was to send the results back ASAP. I agreed and started the techniques on January 25, 1990. The techniques consisted of not directly looking at the sun but keeping my eyes closed while I did funny things with my hands. I thought, these techniques were very silly, but I continued to do them.

On February 12, 1990, my wife held my newborn son up towards me and I instantly felt a tingling sensation all around my face. (One of the requirements, Savoy explained, while doing the techniques, was to notice how you feel during the day after and completing the techniques.) This would happen each time I was near him. This feeling was very calming, and I thought that my sensitivity was increasing.

At this time, I was employed by a major oil company working seven days offshore then seven days at home. I worked in the Gulf of Mexico as a Lead Production Operator at the time. I supervised several operators that ran four production platforms. These platforms produced oil, water, and gas. The water was treated and dumped overboard, and the oil and gas were sent inland through a pipeline and sold.

On the night of February 19^th, 1990, I was offshore lying in bed slightly sleeping when I felt a strong breeze of wind blow across my face. I instantly woke up and wondered where it came from. There were no door or window open at the time. While I continued to try and figure out what had   happened, I knew a platform in my field had just shut-in and I knew what caused the shut-in, and it was not a natural event. The night man knocked on my door and (the nightman stays up all night while everyone else is asleep and watches the quarters’ platform and teletype.) he came into my room to inform me one of my platforms had shut-in and stopped producing. He wanted to know which operators to send out and return the platform to production. I told the night operator to wake up two of my operators to go. When the operators returned, I was having breakfast. I listened closely at them describing the problem of what caused the platform to go down; however, I believed they were purposely lying. Later that day I went to the platform and proved they were lying. They basically rigged the platform to go down to get some overtime. I reported the incident to my supervisor, and both was disciplined.  I figure the techniques I was doing was causing these changes in me, so I continued to do the techniques until around February 21st when the weather was extremely bad offshore.

The weather report said that severe weather would continue for several days. This particular day was crew change, and everyone wanted to go home, but this weather was delaying our departure. Suddenly, I got a strong feeling that the weather would clear up that day and we all would fly in on a helicopter that day. I did not know why or how to describe it, but I knew. I told everyone not to worry; we all would fly in today because the weather will get better. They all laughed and started kidding me. I started to feel bad, but that feeling of knowing just would not allow me to succumb to their kidding. A couple of hours later, the sun was out and the weather had mysteriously disappeared. As soon as the sun came out, everyone stopped laughing and you could hear a rat walking on cotton. No one could look me in the eyes. I started to notice an enormously powerful surge of feeling good. It was hard to describe. It was like a great amount of energy flowing into the center of my being, and I felt great. I know this sounds crazy, but this is what I believed was happening to me at that time. This good feeling stayed with me for a couple of days. I made love to my wife a couple of times that night when I returned home. She wanted to know if I took something.

I continued doing techniques and answering questions from the School. I was becoming very annoyed at the techniques and how they did not allow me to actually look at the sun. I wondered if I would ever be able to look at the sun. Little did I know that things were changing in me at that time and I was not aware of it. The techniques were repairing me and my eyes to receive direct sunlight.

On Saturday evening, May 19th, 1990, I took a drive in the countryside near my home in hopes of being alone to do my sun techniques. It was cloudy. I hoped the sun would come out and stay out. Before I started any techniques, I became silent and prayed to God to open me up and relax me so I could do the techniques properly. I started doing techniques but became extremely disappointed when the clouds kept hiding the sunrays. So, I opened my eyes and look directly at the sun behind the clouds. As the clouds moved by, I began watching the sun appear when the sun suddenly crystallized for a few moments and then it was all out from behind the clouds. I could see its perfectly round shape shinning very bright. It was not the kind of blinding brightness that I was familiar with. I noticed it did not hurt my eyes. At that moment, I felt a wonderful feeling. I was looking at the sun and there was no pain in my eyes. I did notice a feeling in the back of my head that only lasted a few moments. I then thought about the apostle Paul who looked at the sun and became blinded. I wonder if I could go blind by not following the techniques properly as given by the School. I then looked away from the sun, and my vision was still clear. Again, in that moment another thought came across my mind — “never alone.” I knew then that my prayer was answered. I continued to look at the sun until it went down. I later went home feeling incredibly good. I called the School about my experience and was informed not to view it for that long of a period because I could become extremely negative.

After that particular experience, I could tell when the sun was rising or setting. Even if the clouds were out or I was in a building, it did not matter. I knew. I continued looking at the sun following the proper instructions given by the School, everyday sometimes twice a day. On July 24^th,1990, just before I went to bed, I decided to do some deep breathing exercises to try and calm my self down. I then laid down in bed. Somewhere between being awake and falling asleep, I felt a rush of energy that started from my groin area and went through my body to the top of my forehead. I felt a strong pulling sensation directly at my groin. It felt like something was trying to get out of me. I instantly felt fear. And as soon as I felt fear, it went away just as fast as it came. It did leave me with a headache. I called the School and asked to speak with Commodore Savoy, but he was not available at that time and so I could not talk with him.

I wrote a letter to him, and he answered saying that my spiritual force centers were starting to develop. He also said I had eight centers that governed my body, and all together made up my body energy field. He said not to worry, but I could slow down the development with less sun intake. Later that day after reading his letter I was washing my hands. I looked in the mirror and saw myself as an old man. I got afraid again and wondered if I should stop doing the techniques altogether.

As time went on, I occasionally felt extreme heat in distinct parts of my body; but when I touched the area, it was cool. I constantly checked my body temperature, but there was no abnormal reading. Sometimes it was hard for me to go to bed. My body felt like it was constantly moving. I also noticed my sex drive increase tremendously. I always wanted sex. Even right after lovemaking, I still wanted more. I also noticed I did not have to look at my baby son to get the tingling feeling. I would feel him anywhere in my home. He was in his crib one day when it looked like he was on fire. I started to worry until I looked at him smiling at me. He did not seem to be hurting.

On October 1, 1990 while doing a technique, my body felt like I was moving towards the Sun. I could not understand this and wondered what and why all these things were happening to me. Something told me I needed to meet this man and find out more about his research. I thought for a while after getting that feeling. I wanted to visit a man in another state and leave my family and talk to this man, and this did not frighten me at all. I am black, 35yrs old, and never associated with any whites other than those at work, reared in a Black community, attended all Black elementary, all Black high school and all Black college. And here I was wanting to go visit this man. It was like something inside of me was pushing to go to Reno, Nevada. So, I decided to go.

When I arrived at the School, I did not expect what I encountered. There were only a few buildings and a small number of students. He had lectured each day, and I was more sensitive there than in Louisiana. I did not get a chance to talk with Commodore Savoy; his schedule was very full. I decided to leave early before all the lectures were complete. I had to get back home and return to work.

On Oct 15th, 1990, five days after I got back, I was sleeping alone in bed dreaming of others and myself in the Commodore’s class lectures when suddenly the Commodore touched my lips. At that moment, my entire body started to vibrate. And I mean vibrate. I felt like the body of a helicopter upon startup. I awakened from the dream, and the vibration did not stop. I was above the bed, slowly and slowly the vibration calmed and eventually stopped. My experiences continued. Sometimes I would be talking to people, and I could tell if they were telling me the truth. Once when my daughter was four years old, she came up to me and said, “Daddy I am ready to go to school.” Again, a sudden surge of energy hit me, and I knew she was going to school. Her mother had filled out paperwork trying to get her in a specially funded state program for 4-year-olds, but school officials said I made too much money and they could not allow my daughter in this program. I convinced my wife to attend the final meeting with other parents and officials when they announced one hundred students would be interviewed and twenty would be chosen to take part in the program. Well, they allowed my daughter to be interviewed (thinking she would score low).  Her score was the highest of all interviewed.

I continued to do the techniques and my abilities increased. I could give people solutions to their problems instantly and would not have to ponder over answers before telling them. I soon found out that my life and all life on earth was govern by the cycles of the sun, and that there are certain times in the year when being in the sun and fasting could increase your health dramatically.

These are some of the events that occurred in the year 1990 when I chose to look at the sun. Since then, other experiences have happened to me and now have caused me to look at the world much differently than when I first started looking at the Sun.

I would not advise anyone to look at the sun without specific instructions being given by a knowledgeable individual or group. There are now many websites on the internet that give a person instruction on how to look at the sun or sun-gaze. I have reviewed several of them, and you can be harmed by following the recommendations of these websites. What they do not mention is that the Sun has a Dark nature and can affect you in a terribly negative way. There are ways to get around the Sun’s Dark nature and it’s not given on any of these websites. There are a handful of secret schools in the world that can give you the proper instructions. If you wish to contact one, I recommend that you pray and ask the lord to lead you to one. I guarantee you will not be sorry. I recommend the school in Reno, Nevada.

May the fellowship of the Holy Spirit rule and abide in you as you journey into “The Light.”
