We continue this week with the Commentary attached to The Tenth Saying of Jamil.
“And the First Mariner spoke again saying: ‘Then the baptism of fire is not the shedding of the flesh which takes place at the end of a lifetime?’ And turning to the seaman, The Man answered saying, ‘The baptism of fire is likened unto the baptism of water by which you are received into an orthodox church. A minister or priest will pour water upon your head and give you a special blessing. With that you are received into the church. In this Community you receive a baptism of fire, not of water, before you are received into the church.
“‘It is a natural thing that man’s body dies of old age. We as mortals will experience decaying and the wearing away of the body as a natural course of events. But our bodies will be consumed, as it were, by a fire at a certain time when God calls back the spirit. It is as if the spirit will have vacated the body. And the shedding of the flesh, like a cocoon, will take place when Man occupies the spiritual body. Of course, the spiritual Body is occupied prior to death. So it is as if Man exists in two worlds at the same time. The Light body does burn up the physical body. The Sun destroys the body. That is why we have death on this Earth. The Sun kills it through the fire of the energy. Because Man is regulated by the coming of light and the going of light, his life span is predetermined, like the seasons. A person’s life is but threescore and ten years as dictated by the Sun. If Man were to experience a change in which the days would grow longer, or if the Sun’s radiation were to change, Man could live as the ancients to hundreds of years of age. All is determined by the Sun.
“‘There is a spiritual Baptism when man and woman introduces the fire of the Sun into their body. The spiritual Light of the Sun of Righteousness conceives the Light body with a spiritual Consciousness. The Word of God incarnates in the flesh, bringing forth a new life. But we must learn to eat the fire of the Sun so we may pass through the Sun. In other words, one body is consumed before we are able to occupy the spiritual Light body and pass through the physical Sun into the spiritual Worlds of Light.’
“Then asked the First Mariner, ‘Is the baptism a symbolic consummation of the flesh?’ And The Man answered him saying, ‘The baptism of fire is not symbolic. The baptism of fire is a real baptism in which Man enters the fire of the Sun. He actually merges himself with this fire. He learns how to absorb the Sun. Some people look at the Sun a few minutes a day. In my own experience, in the early days, I looked at the Sun for many hours a day, up to twelve hours. My body was being consumed by fire. I became very light, that is, more transparent. This is why I had to control my intake of sunlight. Jamil was extremely transparent at times because his body was more akin to fire than to flesh. Had I not ceased from the long exposure I believe I would have been consumed by fire. We pioneer workers in this new Community must refrain from overexposure to the Sun. We remain behind in order to build the Church. This overexposure must be regulated wisely.
“‘Jamil passed out of the world by eating the Sun. I watched him do it. He no longer had any use for the body, the physical body. He had no interest in remaining on the planet. So he began to look at the Sun. He stopped eating food, and he left.
“‘And in the Community we have a special technique for those who wish to leave the Earth, at the time of their calling, by these same means, emulating the technique, or the method, used by Jamil when he passed out of the world. But this should come in later life when there is no need of the body. Eventually the body must be consumed by sunlight. You must burn up the body, so to speak, so that something greater can come into being. This is the path taken by adepts of the Sun.
“‘There was an old saying among the Aztecs that Quetzalcoatl’s priests looked at the Sun until they lost their physical vision so they might bring into being spiritual Vision. Now, we know that the Yogins of the Himalayas did the same thing. This is not what we are trying to accomplish in the Community. Ours is a spiritual unfoldment with the aging of the physical body. You will all find after you have taken the Sun for a number of years that you will become extremely sensitive to the Sun, and you will find that when you are ready to leave this planet, you will be able to consume a tremendous amount of light and leave, almost at your own will. We of this Community have the advantage of working with the Sun of Righteousness which was not available to the ancients. Our path is a more noble one.’”
We will, of course, continue with the Tenth Saying commentaries next week and in the weeks to follow. In the meantime, you will be receiving a personal letter from me very soon. The letter, which is self-explanatory, has to do with an important project we have undertaken, and which I ask for your and everyone’s support in. Please give it your utmost consideration. Thank you.
Once again, if I may be of any personal service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
