Let us now proceed to the commentary concerning the Eighteenth Saying of Jamil. It will take us several weeks to review. For those of you who are in the Second Advent Theology Program, additional commentary on this particular Saying is offered in Term II (Transformational Theology), Lecture 123.

The Eighteenth Saying (Part 2)

“With these words The Man replaced the scroll in the alforja whence he had taken it. Having done this, and hearing no response from The Mariners, he spoke a commentary on the Saying.

“‘This Saying teaches us that from out of the multitude of churches in the world that will teach Cosolargy, such as the Communities of Christ, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Brahmanism, and other religions embracing our concepts, something higher will evolve. We do not know how long this evolution will require, but it will begin in our lifetimes. A True Church will evolve which will be divorced from the popular religions of the day and age. It will be a truly universal religion in which men and women can express themselves as a race of spiritual beings. However, this will require a maturity which people today do not have. Therefore, the Teachings of Cosolargy will be given to the popular religions of the world as amendments and supplemental material so that they can be fulfilled as a higher religion. This church which will evolve out of all churches will be shared by all races and creeds without favoring any particular religion. This is what the Saying tells us.

“‘The first Patriarchs of this religion will be a select number of enlightened men who will follow in the footsteps of Jesus, Moses, Zoroaster, Buddha, Lao Tzu, and many of the other prophets of times past. And they will be known by their enlightenment. The office they hold will not be one that will be attained by earthly intelligence but by spiritual enlightenment which will be discerned by all. And these Patriarchs will divorce themselves from the world so they may be able to counsel the leaders of the world. The Patriarchs will lead Man as did the founders of the world religions in ancient times. They will represent a spiritual Order. And this Order will own no material thing. The Patriarchs will have naturally divested themselves of all possessions. While the churches of the world will, in fact, own buildings and possessions to serve their people, the Patriarchs will head a church that will not be an earthly organization at all. It will not be an incorporated body. It will not be licensed by the state. The spiritual leaders, the enlightened of each church, will form that church, that True Religion.

“‘They will not cease being part of the human family, nor cease being members of the other churches. They will continue to serve in their respective capacities, but they will be the founders of a truly universal church in which the knowledge of God will be impressed upon the heart of Man and not relegated to books.

“‘The spiritual maturity of Man today does not allow him to be able to conceive of such a religion. The True Teachings of the Church would not be, for example, called Cosolargy. We would not speak in terms of Christ, or in terms of God, or in terms of any terminology used by the religions of the world. There would be no need even to speak. Each would know the wisdom of God. Each would see the Image of God because each would be the Image of God; each would understand God’s Word and there would be no reason to use a language of mind and matter. But, as I say, this will take time to happen. However, the seeds of its beginnings are already planted in our own Church.’”

Our review of the Seventeenth Saying tells us that the sun is diseased and, as a consequence, the earth and the family of Man are likewise in a state of disease. The doctrines of our Community also tell us that the restoration of the human family, the planet, and the sun to health can only be achieved by proper reflection and inflection by enlightened men and women of The Community.

The Eighteenth Saying, however, deals with a different topic altogether. Let’s begin with the Saying itself and then move on to the commentary. The Eighteenth and Nineteenth Sayings go together and treat on the importance of certain men and women of The Community freeing themselves from worldly affairs and dedicating their entire beings completely to teaching and inspiring the human family. These Sayings tell us something of the way this is to be achieved.

The Eighteenth Saying (Part 1)

“The following day, The Man, in company with The Mariners, gathered again in the garden of the Kahunas of olden times. And, speaking in a voice as soft and scented as the sea breeze caressing the trees about them, he revealed another of the Secret Sayings of Jamil unto them.

“And these are the words of the Eighteenth Saying:

“Each of the religions of the world is to be given the Teachings by the Ordained. And by means of these Teachings, the older religions inspired by the Image and the Word of God given to the Prophets and Holy Ones in former ages will be regenerated and fulfilled. And from within these religions and the Ordained, the Enlightened of God will emerge to form a Holy Order of Patriarchs, an Order of Progenitors of a New Race of Man.

“And they shall be called Holy Fathers of the Church. They will emulate the Prophets and Holy Ones of ancient times, and take the necessary vows as a condition of this Holy Office. And they shall inspire the formation of a True Church, a universal Church, brought out of the many churches of the world. This True Church will live the new laws of God and, by so doing, restore the sun and the earth and the cosmos to goodly order for a New Creation in which God’s Image and Word will manifest openly as in the beginning of the First Creation.

“The Patriarchs will be those who, having fulfilled their obligation to their wives joined in holy matrimony, will cease to live as ordinary men in order to live as priests of God, each accepting his wife as a sister and spiritual Companion of the Way, thus separating themselves from all things of the world that they may be free to reflect the Image and the Word of God.

“And this Holy Order of Patriarchs shall lead the multitudes of churches of the world, inspiring them by their light and wisdom. And by these means the Patriarchs will become fathers unto the churches, joining the noble family of Holy Men of times past, protecting and safeguarding those in their charge with love and understanding, justice, sympathy, patience, tolerance, generosity, honesty, peace, goodness, and light as a unified whole, unseparated from one another; of one mind, one body, one spirit – universal and one.

“And the Order of Patriarchs will have its beginnings when, upon a pre-ordained time, you shall withdraw from the activities of Man and devote your whole life to God within The Community. And by the sign and color of your vestment, the holy members of the Order will recognize that the Order of Patriarchs has been formed. Once the Order is formed, you shall initiate disciples into it, and they shall subscribe to the vows after the passing of 52 years of age. And allow no men to take these vows and live a chaste life until they have provided for their offspring and pledged to care for their wives and family within The Community.

“And let the Patriarchs of the Church make their withdrawal from human society complete, dedicating their entire lives to the service of The Community as a glory and a power to God, seeking their origins in Light until their final mergence with God at the conclusion of their lives on earth. Let the Patriarchs live the Image and Word as did I, The Child, emulating The Way. Let the Laws and Statutes be impressed upon their hearts and minds and spirits, to be lived and not spoken, for the Word of God is neither found on paper nor revealed by the tongue. And by these means, the Holy Race shall be instructed and taught how to receive God in its midst.”

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 20)

With these words, The Man closes his discourse with his disciples at Aiea Heights on the island of Oahu.

“‘Earth is a closed system, as is the whole of the material universe. Every living thing feeds upon the energy of the sun, or upon one another in a cycle that endures for a time and a season, then ends. Until Man is nurtured by The Image and The Word of God, he is imprisoned in the world. Some have asked whether Man lives after death; we know that the spirit of Man comes from God, and endures in His Memory as a Thought. If the image of a person, the Soul, has not been filled with God’s Word, or never forms, that is the worst kind of death; for Man’s spiritual nature is as an unborn child that is denied life. The principle is the same in natural law as it is in spiritual Law. When a mon or a woman passes away on earth, nothing remains but their works and the memory of them held in the minds of the living. For all intents and purposes, a person is gone from the world of the living once the material image of his being is lost with its return to dust and the mind of God whence it came.

“‘A person’s material body or image is given life by its parents; the spiritual Body or Image is given life by God. The material aspect of Man comes from within a closed system; the spiritual, from outside of that system. This is important to remember. Everything on earth is a replica of another system in a higher dimension. As a shadow formed by a light or mirror image has no real substance, neither does the material body – it is but an image, not a real thing – only a reflection of something higher. If the spiritual Image is removed, the material image does not appear. Thus, what a person observes by the senses is only a mirror image, an illusion without real substance, that is perceived only by the perceptory senses and not by the spiritual senses. That explains why spiritual Beings have very little contact with people on earth. The natural scientists who boldly claim that only the material is real, that Man is an animal evolved out of lower life forms, who scoff at spiritual scientists who claim that animals are replicas of Man brought about by nature, are dealing with illusion, with images of real things which do not fall into their system because the spiritual is perceived only by spiritual senses.

“‘Since the System we teach is nuclear, the enlightened initiate is obligated to participate in The Community for the development of a new scientific discipline outside of secularism. Unless The Community becomes strong, The Teaching will pass away. Every individual applying this System has an obligation to work toward its material well-being so that it can function in the world. The Community of which you are a part, of which we are all a part, is a replica, an image, of something else that exists in higher dimensions. The Angels of Light are attempting to create an Image of the heavenly Community on earth so that the family of Man can restore itself to the spirit. It is important to remember that if such a Community were already in existence on earth, if the Teachings of Christ were being taught, there would be no need for our revealed Teaching. But, seeing the need, God has ordained that it be established with authority to teach in His Name.

“‘The Community is to consist of only those ordained to the spiritual body itself. Man can only be called a True Man when he has become part of God’s Body. Woman can only be called a True Woman when she has become part of God’s Body. Unless one has received God’s Word and awakened spiritual Consciousness, one can in no real manner reflect to the Sun of Righteousness and restore the sun of the solar system to a state of good health.’”

“And with these words, The Man looked upon The Mariners, silence written on his face. And hearing no further questions, he stood up, and they walked together for a while among the sacred plants that grew in the garden of the ancient Kahunas.”

This concludes our review of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil.

This Sunday, April 18th, is Second Advent, or True, Easter. This sacred day, fixed in the solar calendar of The Community, is recognized by us as the true day of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, since it is cosmically significant as the actual date of the resurrection. We also remember the events that transpired on that day in 1982 at the Sanctuary of Revelation atop the Seven Mountains of Metal when the Seven Revelations were received and the Seven Seals were opened.
