A private ceremony was held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at King’s Beach, Lake Tahoe for the scattering of the ashes of Kim Kinsey, a friend of the Church. ( SEE Communique article on Kim’s Memorial Service.)

Presiding was her life-partner, John Stewart, who scattered Kim’s ashes into lake Tahoe. In attendance were a dozen people, including John and his two sons, Henry and Austin; Gene, Radheka and Helena Savoy; and Kim’s mother. Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Light,

For those of you who feel you are destined to reach out and share this Teaching, here is beginning that might help you realize that destiny. We would like you to submit some of your “Experiences in the Sun”—visions, realizations, epiphany events—so we can post them anonymously on the Cosolargy International website. Every single one of you is proof that this System is more dynamic, more real, more phenomenal, than anything else the world has to offer. Everybody in this Community has something to offer in this respect.

I would like all of you to have clear and direct avenues in which you can express your love for this Teaching and bring it to the world. This is a door for you. A place to start. A first step. So, submit as many accounts as you would like. I think the energy you invest in this will be returned in ways that will eventually become apparent.

You may send your “Experiences in the Sun“ to: editor@communitycommunique.net

Or you may use standard mail:

Snow White Arias Premiered with Full Orchestra

2014-SPM-Snow White Score Cover2

The Reno Pops Orchestra premiered two arias from Snow White: The Opera; For Young People of All Ages on November 8, 2014 at the University of Nevada-Reno’s Nightingale Concert Hall. The full-length three-act opera was composed by music students of the Jamilian Parochial School during the 1991–1992 school year under the direction of the Reverend Gary Buchanan. This performance was the first time any part of the opera was performed by full orchestra.

At this premiere, the two arias from Snow White: The Opera were sung by Steven Meyer (Baritone) and Jennifer Probst Hilderbrand (Soprano) with the Reno Pops Orchestra.

Steven Meyer sang the part of the Huntsman who in Act I is sent out by the evil Queen of Fall to take the Princess Snow White into the wood, kill her, and bring back the girl’s heart to the Queen as proof of the deed. In the wood the Huntsman finds that he cannot bring himself to kill Snow White and tells her to run away into the dark forest. Following her departure, the Huntsman is at a loss as to what to do because the Queen expects him to return with Snow White’s heart. Suddenly, a wild board runs out of the forest in the direction of Snow White’s departure. The Huntsman rushes to throw himself upon the boar, cuts out its heart with his dagger, and sings that he now has a substitute heart to present to the evil Queen of Fall.

Jennifer Probst Hilderbrand sang the part of the Queen of Fall at the moment near the end of Act II when the Queen discovers, in conversation with the mirror on her wall, that Snow White still lives and makes her plan to kill Snow White with a poison apple.

Nearly 300 people of various faiths and backgrounds attended the 29th Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Reno on Wednesday, November 26, 2014.

The event, themed “Thanks in the Midst of Adversity,” is sponsored by the Nevada Clergy Association (NCA). This service, a much-revered tradition in the Reno-Sparks community and largely unique nationwide in its scope and diversity, includes prayers, readings, and music from a variety of faith traditions. Food and monetary donations were made to the Volunteers of America Shelter Programs.

In attendance from the International Community of Christ were Gene Savoy Jr. and Radheka Patel Savoy, Sean Savoy, Sylvia Ontenada-Bernales, Stephan Fuelling, Gary Buchanan, Robert Petrovich, Elizabeth Reece, and Barbara Whitney. Radheka presented a Hindu prayer with Rajan Zed. Sean, as head of the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast Committee, announced that the Nevada “Coming Together” quilt produced by the Committee under the auspices of the NCA was accepted as one of the Nevada 150 Commission Legacy Projects. Gene, NCA President, provided the closing Benediction Prayer, a reading form the Thanksgiving Hymn of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Previous hosts of the past five years were The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2013), St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cathedral (2012), St. John’s Presbyterian Church (2011), Trinity Episcopal Church (2010), and Sparks United Methodist Church (2009).
