Sean Savoy was recently approached to write a quarterly column for the local magazine Reno Tahoe Tonight. The publisher and editor, Oliver Ex, wanted something new and spiritually oriented for his independent alternative publication, which he hopes to raise another notch in quality during the revamping process the magazine is presently undergoing. Reno Tahoe Tonight is already known for its excellent photography. Oliver Ex wants it to be known for excellent writing as well.

The title of the new column, The Light Factor, is intended to suggest not only light and enlightenment but also that there is something within the light, the “Light of light.” That is where the word “factor” comes into the title. The column focuses on matters of consciousness, science, energy, ancient mysteries, and adventures into the unknown.

Savoy says the reason he agreed to write the column was to “reach out to the younger generation about the new world consciousness and to provide suggestions for how a person might go about accessing it.”

Gene Savoy Jr., Head Bishop of the International Community of Christ and President of the Nevada Clergy Association, announced to the Northern Nevada interfaith community on April 3, 2012, that he and his brother, Sean Savoy, Chancellor of the Jamilian University, will be hosting a new radio program.

Gene and Sean Savoy have been hosting a local weekly radio program for the last several months called House of Savoy (99.1 FM Sunday 7:00 p.m.). Many of the interfaith community in Reno have been guests on this show, which discusses events and topics that are of interest to them and to the people of Northern Nevada. Gene said of the show, “We like to call it ‘conscious conversation.’”

Because the show has been quite successful, they have been invited to host another weekly radio program focusing on religion, faith, spirituality, and the interfaith work that they are part of. They are calling the show Higher Calling. The first show aired in Reno on Easter Sunday April 8, 2012 on 99.1 FM at 6:00 a.m. The topic is Passover, Easter, and their interconnection.

Gene extends a personal invitation to each of the members of the regional interfaith community to be a guest on this new show.

On October 8, 2011, a group including several ICC members will be leaving New York for South Africa, with a destination of the Global White Lion Trust in Timbavati and the Great Zimbabwe.

Additional funds are needed to cover the required amounts for this trip due to two supporters’ being unable to follow through at the last minute.

The 2nd Annual Conference on the Spiritual State of the World: Frequencies, Resonance &Vibrational Healing — Toward 2012,was hosted by Cosolargy International in Reno, Nevada, September 8-11, 2011.

On May 7, 2011, Head Bishop Gene Savoy Jr., Cardinal Bishop Sean Savoy, and a delegation from the Reno Church Community left for Japan via Los Angeles, where they joined other Community members from the United States. Once in Japan, Japanese Community members joined the group to participate in a 12-day tour of southern Japan, visiting holy shrines, temples, and other sacred sites. Informal talks on the ancient solar cultures of Japan throughout the trip, and a seminar on vibrational healing was conducted near the end of the tour. Most tour members returned to the United States on May 21. The Head Bishop, Cardinal Bishop, and a few others remained in South Korea for a few days to visit sacred sites in that country, returning to Reno on May 26.

Gene Savoy Jr. and Sean Savoy, known affectionately to the greater Reno community as “the Savoy brothers,” appeared on Reno local radio throughout the month of August to speak about regional religious matters.

In a series of five interviews with various radio hosts they have discussed the interfaith work of the Nevada Clergy Association, the explorations of Gene Savoy and the Andean Explorers Foundation, Cosolargy, and the September 2011 Cosolargy Conference to be held in Reno.

The first interview with the two was called “A Common Spirit” and investigated what the representatives of different religious and spiritual beliefs in Northern Nevada were doing to work together for the common good. For the show, radio hosts Richard Flyer, founder of the Conscious Community network, and Eddie Floyd of the radio show Nevada Matters welcomed to their show UNITE the Rt. Rev. Gene Savoy Jr. as president of the region’s interfaith organization, the Nevada Clergy Association, and Rt. Rev. Sean Savoy as the organization’s events chairman.

The shows to follow featured the two as guests of Eddie Floyd, “the King of Talk in Northern Nevada,” who hosts, produces, and records the show Nevada Matters on KKFT 99.1 FM out of Reno, a Fox News Radio show that airs across the country, usually on Sundays.

Award-Winning Documentary "Eat the Sun" DVD Release: May 11, 2011

Award-winning and controversial documentary film Eat The Sun debuts Tuesday, May 11, 2011, on DVD with a Documentary Channel Broadcast Premiere to follow on Summer Solstice (June 21) at 8 pm. The film will also release on iTunes, on VOD and in specialty retailers later this summer.
