The Tenth Saying (Part 17 of our series)

“When he had said this, they went up on deck to view the sunset. And when they returned, The Man spoke again: ‘Unless a person generates a Light body and generates Consciousness, one cannot experience immortality of person. Once a person accepts this fact and that life in Spirit is governed by spiritual Law and Order, that person is able to participate in the life of The Community. For spiritual Life must begin here in the physical world. Certain conditions have to be established before spiritual Life can begin. This entails a system of spiritual development within an order of an authentic, inspired and revealed religion.

“‘Any person is only as great as the philosophy that motivates that person. If it be a philosophy of love, kindness, understanding, tolerance and universality, then one is nourished by a beneficial energy. A person motivated by hate, intolerance, selfishness, actually lives off oneself. This kind of energy is self-destructive and destroys the mind and body. Persons who enter the order of The Community and look at the Sun properly receive a celestial energy filled with the Intelligence of God. Through the light of the Sun they are able to project their Consciousness into the Mind of God and into the Worlds of Light. By these means, they become more celestial than terrestrial, enjoy a fuller, richer and longer life, and are far more productive than earthly people.

“‘People read the Bible, they read scripture, go to lectures, hear marvelous words on the Spirit, they hear theories, commentaries, but seldom, if ever, do they hear the truth as given by an institution directly under the inspiration of God. We of this Community have the privilege of aiding God so that a new world order can be established to make the world a better place for present and future generations. Our System has been practiced by the great holy men and women of times past. Today, mankind can actually put The System into practice and become a more advanced, more evolved race.

“‘Every person has been created in the Image of God. Once the light of the Sun is introduced into the body, God’s Word takes on Form within that person. When people love God, they live off of a different kind of energy; it is self-sustaining, and self-generating. If a person rejects this System, and accepts a system which is not inspired or divine, then that person does not develop. I believe you will find as you voyage about the world and come in contact with members of various religions that all people seek the truth. Therefore, we have the responsibility of teaching the religious of the world the new Way revealed by God.

“‘To teach men and women to cease from jealousy, envy, greed, selfishness, and self-destruction requires a system that can replace those petty feelings with higher feelings. Those higher feelings can only be expressed in a community where people mingle with their own peers. You cannot be spiritual and illuminated living in the world with people who are materialistic, who do not understand God, who do not participate in the Godhead, who do not take the Light of the Sun of Righteousness into their Spirits, and who do not have the Word of God incarnate within their beings. You will be, of all people, most lonely. When one joins the Order, one becomes complete and useful. If each can find the Christ-force in life, and live within it, then Christ triumphs within us. And I would like to stress again, contrary to what some anthropologists and medical people teach, that Man has not ascended from the animal kingdom. Man has descended from the Godhead. And there is a method by which everyone can return to the Godhead and participate in their divinity.

“‘Think in terms of the difference among people – those of Spirit and those of Earth – they are distinct. Each is obligated to contribute to the establishment of The Community because it is important that spiritually-minded souls devote themselves to the restructuring of the world. Previously I have spoken about a condition or state of Man. A man and a woman unite, and by so doing a new person is born into the world. Similarly, when a person unites their Spirit with the Word of God present in the Sun of Righteousness, spiritual birth takes place and the person is reborn in Christ. And then when this happens, the panacea which has been striven for by all psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists and religionists, is afforded man and woman. With discipline, the antipodes which pull at us creating moods of despair, anger, sadness, negativity, sorrow, loneliness, anxiety, guilt, insomnia, fear, pride, worry, frustration, inadequacy, and insecurity pass away as that person takes on a new identity. A person can, within The Community, become Christ-like. It requires time and dedication, but that is the objective of this Community – to enlighten every member so that each can imitate Christ on Earth. Such persons will become brothers and sisters of a single family dedicated to the teaching of the brotherhood of Man living under God, not for the destruction of what God has given us, but for the construction of a new order on Earth.

“‘Each enlightened Soul assumes the responsibility of the unity of the Order which I so strongly stress at all times over and over again. For Man is by earthly nature rebellious and at odds with his own kind. Each is obligated to preserve the world for future generations. We all know that if mankind continues to abuse natural law, exploiting the natural environment, the cessation of all living things will come to pass. For mankind to knowingly deny his own immortality by turning from God is to commit, willingly, a crime which must be punished.’”

The Tenth Saying (Part 16 of our series)

“And after reading the words of Jesus, The Man said: ‘Here Jesus is talking about the final days of the world when the Light from the Sun of Righteousness will inflame the minds of men ad women. Those of Light will feed on the New Sun, while those of the world and of Darkness will suffer in the heat of that spiritual Fire, in which the world will be burned up.

“‘Jesus prophesied the state of the world in the final days. He talked about the Second Coming of a Messianic Age, a final age in which the world would be inflamed with God’s Word. Thus God has appeared in the Sun as a Messiah. People are to be redeemed by God’s own Light – His Body and Mind. It is natural that all the immortals and all of the Angels of God are manifesting with God in His Sun of Righteousness. So let him hear who will hear. All are free to acknowledge or reject. People rationalize. Because they cannot understand they reject. Many will ask why they have to be saved from matter. They wish everyone to be saved without effort, as if it is a divine right. Such is not the case. And because of this state of affairs, people would judge God and His right to judge the world. Man is arrogant, puffed up by his own intellect. Man still wishes to disobey God’s law and order because it is in conflict with his understanding of the Universe. It was such rationalization that made the Angels fall from Grace. Men and women of goodly rule and order labor for salary; they support the state and pay their taxes, respecting civil law and order. But rebellious people expect reward without taxation. They wish to live at the expense of productive men and women. These same kind reject God’s Law and Order. They seek benefits without just compensation to the state which is the foundation of the world. Such individuals serve neither God nor man honorably.

“‘It is Man’s justice that such are judged by the law and punished. It is the same with God. If Man wishes to be wicked and disobey God’s law and order, he too must suffer the consequences of punishment. Such is the natural order of law and order. People cannot see that without goodly law and order, be it civil or religious, anarchy triumphs and society falls into disorder.’

“The First Mariner spoke again saying: ‘Will all the pre-ordained, whether they hear The Teaching or not, be called out to The Community by the solar Logos in the end anyway?’

“Hearing him, The Man said: ‘There are pre-ordained here that will hear the Word but perhaps ignore it. We don’t know. Remember that God says in the final days He will send His Angels into the world to gather the people. There are Angels working in the world, inspiring the people. Jamil appeared to me before his birth in physical form; there is a very good example of pre-existence. Jamil lived as an Angel of Light, a majestic Angel of Light who recognizes and acknowledges God the Father. And he appeared and said, “I will appear in the body of a child. The child will come and teach.” So he occupied the physical body of a child for three years. Thus the indwelling Spirit or the Word was incarnate in the flesh, which demonstrates the human nature of The Child as well as the spiritual nature that co-existed with the body. This teaches us that Jesus had a human nature and a spiritual Nature. They crucified the man, but they could not kill the Spirit. While Jamil, The Child, died, the Angel was immortal.’

“Then the Second Mariner spoke: ‘How are the Angels working in the world now?’ And The Man replied saying: ‘God speaks to Man on Earth in the Light of the Messianic Sun and through the voice of Angels who manifest to Man in dreams and visions, and Man hears their words within his own being. The Angels awaken Man by these means and intercede for God who is beyond Man’s comprehension. According to the old gnostic teaching, the Angels attempt to awaken Man’s spiritual Consciousness. We are told in the Bible that in the last and final days of the Earth God will send His Angels to assist Man’s spiritual Awakening.

“‘This is one way that our Community is unique. We accept that Man requires outside help in order to develop. In many years of teaching, I have found that people are very insecure. They lack confidence. And they lack self-identity. Most are fearful and feel inadequate. Today Man needs to know who he is. The majority are not certain just how to fulfill themselves. They are afraid they are going to grow old, be alone, poor without friends, disliked. This insecurity causes disease and mental breakdown, emotional strain, anxieties and physical ills. Their insecurity makes them question their own immortality. “Am I immortal or not?” is a common question. Their fears and their guilt begin with the idea of original sin. Because they have been taught the concepts of an inferior god who is very human, one who is jealous and may cast them into Hell, they are fearful. Many people are religious only because they do not want to go to Hell. So, they worship God not out of love, but out of fear. And they feel inadequate. They lack confidence in themselves and slowly they lose identity. In short, people are lost and alone, existing without hope.

“‘Once a person makes spiritual development the main goal of life, the material world becomes less important because that person is able to handle materialism without becoming a slave to it. I learned that everyone is seeking answers to the eternal questions. People came to me in Peru from all over the world. And I discovered that while they wanted to make a better life for themselves, they were not interested in changing their lives, nor in joining a community They were far more interested in alleviating their own ignorance without wanting to alleviate the ignorance of mankind. I decided there were very few people really prepared for the spiritual life in Community. And I decided to concentrate my efforts on those few people – the pre-ordained as I came to call them. I learned by observing that when the Word of God incarnates in people, each experiences a freedom from ignorance. Each seems to feel that he or she has been forgiven all sins and is no longer judged. Each is illuminated. After this, each wants to live a new life. And I learned that to have meaning, a community life must teach new tenets, new concepts, new precepts, and make a practical approach to solving the needs of its members. A theoretical religion is of no value to anyone. Thus, it became important that a community of like-minded souls be formed wherein each could live the Teachings and bring about the restructuring of the world.’”

As we approach the commemoration of the 58th anniversary of the passing of The Child, Jamil, next week at midnight on the 29th/30th of January, I am pleased to announce that a new Service of Remembrance has been created that will begin the Second Advent Sunrise Vigil. This new service will be held on the evening of January 29th in the Chapel of the Holy Child and will usher in the eight-day Sunrise Vigil which will commence the morning of January 30th and culminate on the morning of February 6th . Of course, these sunrise services will be held at the Consecrated Sanctuary.

This new remembrance service will include readings from the book, Jamil: Child of Light, as well as beautiful music compositions not heard for almost 40 years. This music, which was composed by our Reverend Dr. Gary Buchanan, was performed by the children of The Community in 1983 and has not been heard since. I have included two of the original recordings here.

The Tenth Saying (Part 15 of our series)

“And the First Mariner spoke: ‘Is it written in the Teachings that the Logos radiates to everyone? I believe there was a parable by Jesus on this theme in Matthew, chapter 13. It was about the sower who came forth to sow. I think this ties in with the previous question.’

“Remembering the passage from the New Testament, The Man quoted it from his own copy of the book: ‘Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he had sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth; and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But others fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.’

“‘And Jesus explained the parable by saying, to paraphrase it, “When anyone hears the Word of the Kingdom and understands it not, then comes the wicked one and carries away that which was sown in his heart. This is he that receives the seed near the rocky path. The one who hears the Word on the rocky path is the one who receives it with gladness and joy. But such a person is without roots and he has no strength of character. Let problems and tribulations befall him because of the words received, and he falls away immediately. He that receives the Word among the thorns is the person who hears the Word, but the worries of this world and the pull of materialism and security chokes the Word so that he gains nothing of value. But he that receives the Word in fertile soil is the man who hears the Word with understanding, and he is the one who yields it, who yields the harvest of one hundred, sixtyfold, and thirtyfold.’”

“Then The Man said, ‘Unless a person generates the Light body by means of the Messianic Sun, they will in no way survive the heat from God’s Sun. We in Community must- needs dedicate ourselves to the spiritual path and turn away from the world that occupies so much time and energy. Those of the Light will understand the Word of God; those of the world will not understand it. Another passage from the New Testament deals with the parable of the tares and the wheat.’

“And he reads from his copy of the New Testament again: ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went away. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, there appeared the tares also.’ Of course you know the rest of the story.

“‘And Jesus explained that by saying, ‘He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; The good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Allow me to convey my very best wishes to you as we enter a brand new year, as well as a new decade. I am optimistic about the future of our Community. I hope you and your loved ones experienced a special and blessed Christmas-Epiphany Season. We in Reno concluded the sunrise vigil with a spectacular Divine Service on January 6th, which was preceded by our traditional annual banquet and festivities at the Rectory-Abbey on January 5th.

This month, we will be concluding our review of The Tenth Saying of Jamil and then be going on to the Eleventh Saying. So, let us continue with commentary from The Man.

The Tenth Saying (Part 14 of our series)

“‘In our religion we profess a belief that holds God to be the cause of all living things, one who occupies no place in time and no particular space. He is greater than Being, or Form, or even Consciousness. This religion teaches that in order to overcome death of the physical body one must generate a new body of Light which is nourished on the Light given by God through the Sun of Righteousness. Within the Light of this Sun dwells the Word of God, the Logos. The Logos incarnates within Man’s Spirit and gives him new life. Therefore, this religion is one that believes in the True God – the One God – which is manifest in all living things. We teach our members how to generate this body of Light and how to communicate with God through higher powers of Consciousness. If Man is to return to God and participate in his divinity, he must-needs generate a spiritual nature as was taught by the holy teachers of revealed religions. We share with these religions the Way of Light and return to God. This religion has come forth into the world because The Way has been lost to the old religions.

“‘Man is free to believe in whatever he wishes to believe. It is the right of science, or materialism, or technology, or secular religion, to claim that it has the only way to Man’s salvation. But the fact remains there is only one way to generate a Light body – just as there is only one way to propagate children. The way is self-evident. Such is our System.

“‘All of us here want our families to live. It is because of our dedication to this Teaching that some day we may be able to help our families. We hope to be able to help all people, as Jesus and Jamil and great holy men and women of times past are helping people today because they want people to know God. But Man must taste of death, he must know the Darkness before he can walk back to God. In this respect, perhaps death need not be permanent.

“‘Either our Teachings are right or they are wrong. Either the religions of the world today are teaching The Way or not. Each has to ask himself that. I can only say that I cannot worship a god that demands blood. I cannot worship a god that would throw any person into Hell forever because that person sinned out of ignorance. I believe in the goodness of God. I believe that God offers redemption and salvation for every creature on the face of the Earth. This is what I have dedicated my life to. And I am sure that you believe the same thing.

“‘We must have faith. We must have hope that God will redeem all men and women. This is all we can do, nothing more. Each is free to give their life to what they believe in; either country, or church, or religion of whatever denomination. No member of this Church will ever accuse a person of being wrong because he or she belongs to another religion. It is not for us to think that Man is going to taste death, and that we are going to taste life everlasting because we are a very special breed. It may turn out that way, but it is not by our own wish. It is perhaps by the Will of God or by the laws of nature that this will happen, but not by our choice. We know there is one way only by which to generate a Light body and spiritual Consciousness. God has given us the manner by which to accomplish this. Our mission is to instruct people in this system.’”
