Hello. I hope you are staying safe and keeping healthy. We are almost at the end of our review of the Thirteenth Saying of Jamil. This portion continues with the themes of pre-existence and the preordained but elaborates on arrogance versus humility and living the Life of Light to attain spirituality.

The Thirteenth Saying (Part 13)

“And The Navigator spoke again saying, ‘What you seem to have said in your answer is that none of us knows exactly where we came from, or even that we had a pre-existence prior to our entrance into this world until we are awakened by the call of Christ. Let me quote from the Gospel of John: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. But what of the laws of God? Are they not made obvious to us from the moment of our awakening as to who we were and where we came from?’

“And turning to the seaman, The Man answered saying, ‘Each of us must first accept that once awakened by God’s presence in the Light of Christ, we begin to live under supernatural laws. These laws bind us to a life of dedication. Our supernatural uniqueness means simply that we have become spiritual. We have used our free will to elect to live under the Laws of Light. This does not mean that we are better than other people. We are only different. We become servants of Christ. We are here to instruct the human family. Therefore, we cannot ever think of ourselves as superior. We do live under superior laws, true. But superior to other men and women, never.

“‘Arrogance defeats spirituality. It defeats the whole life of Jamil, and of Jesus. Jamil taught us humility as a child; Jesus as a man. Humility is a discipline. And the discipline of humility teaches us spirituality. Jesus identified with man; Jamil identified with natural phenomena. He lived off the breath of God. He was nurtured by it.

“‘To learn more about our pre-existence, we must withdraw from the world and try to understand God. Look at how Jesus experienced his human nature when hanging on the cross. He uttered the words: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me. Here was a suffering, natural man in a moment of despair. He was not fully in charge. He was not completely free from the natural body which was suffering terribly. He felt abandoned. He had failed his community, as they had failed him. But slowly he withdrew from his agony and forgave his tormentors saying: Forgive them Father for they know not what they do. Here was the supernatural Man speaking to natural Man. His superiority of reasoning allowed Jesus to be forgiving. In this moment Jesus became perfect Christ, incarnate in human form. And he triumphed. And when he cried out: Father into thy hands I commend my spirit, at this moment Jesus was freed from his human nature, and his Spirit merged with God.

“‘With his ascent back into the Worlds of Light whence he had come, Jesus then knew of his true, supernatural nature. He was free forever. It is the same for any one of us. We will not be truly spiritual, nor have a full understanding of who we really are, nor understand our origins, until we depart this world and merge with the source of our being. I think that the closer we draw to the end of our natural life, the closer we come to God.

“‘Jesus triumphed over the death of his natural body. He returned to his disciples in possession of a Light Body, the same Body to which all persons of Light are heir, as a testimony to the immortality of the human Spirit that exists once it is empowered by God’s eternal Light.’”

This theme continues next week and focuses on Jamil’s return to the Worlds of Light.

The Thirteenth Saying (Part 12)

And The Man continued to address the Companions of The Way aboard the Ship of Light – the Feathered Serpent II.

“‘As Jamil tells us, the only people who can oversee the New Church are those preselected and preordained people who have experienced an Immaculate Conception from the moment of their rebirth. In this respect, every person shares an experience similar to that of Jesus and Jamil – each has been touched by God, illuminated and made spiritual by a special act of the Divine. Like Jesus and Jamil, we are to discipline ourselves, live out the life God intended for us. Remember that Jesus went into the desert regions and prayed for forty days and nights. Life was not easy for him. He had to experience all the temptations of the world that afflict the natural Man. Such is the destiny of every man and woman dedicated to God.

“‘Remember Jesus on the cross. He had come to illuminate the supernatural Man, yet he walked with natural men and women and he taught them what he could through parables. They could not understand the essence of his teaching – that was reserved for his disciples and immediate followers who submitted to the disciplines. Yet he loved the common people, and healed them, and prayed for them. And they turned on this Illuminated One, this man of peace, and they hung him on the cross unto death.

“‘Jamil has instructed us to build a strong and unified Community. We are establishing this Church under new authority – the authority of the person of Christ. In this way the original teachings of Christ, lost to the Church for so many centuries, will be restored to us. It is our responsibility to safeguard them for future generations. Only in this way can they be perpetuated.

“‘We are the Church of the New Advent. We have come to fulfill Christianity – to make it the Church that was intended by Jesus. The Church has been awaiting a Second Coming for centuries. Christ has come!

“‘This is an important event in the history of the world. When Man gives it the importance that it deserves, by using his free will and intelligence, he binds himself to a universal Order that allows him to take the Teachings into the world of natural Man. And Christ will transform natural men and women into supernatural men and women. And out of this supernatural phenomenon, we will eventually have a supernatural world, a world of Light creating, of its own accord, a new human condition.

“‘Too much emphasis has been placed on Man’s free will. Man’s use of free will has been reduced to selecting the kind of employment that will give him funds with which to purchase those things which that same free will says he needs and wants. Since when has free will been used for meaningful and cosmic undertakings? If we allow the natural Man’s kind of thinking to regulate the Church, we would create its own downfall.

“‘So, my good fellows, the preordained are known by their own enlightenment. Because you recognize the Teaching for what it is, you instantly know that you have been preordained for this work even if your reasoning powers cannot tell you why it is so. You are unlike other people. And being unique, you must take great pains to unify yourselves together without argument and not be as others who follow the natural ways of the world.’”

Last week’s message treated on the Second Advent, or the Second Coming, and it is important for us to understand that we are a continuation of the True Ministry of Jesus, as well as being representative of the Second Advent of God itself. The portion of the Thirteenth Saying quoted below is concerned with divine enlightenment and the extraordinary Man, as opposed to the ordinary person, as well as charisma in its truest sense.

The Thirteenth Saying (Part 11)

“‘When Jesus came there were many religions in practice, as well as the old Hebrew form of religion under the Jerusalem priesthood, to meet the needs of natural men. Jesus came to make ordinary men and women extraordinary – to make natural men and women supernatural. This transformation of being can come about only by initiation into a divine Order and through the spiritual power of God.

“‘The Community is like a good ship in the rough seas; without it we would be lost, for the fury of the tempests of life would surely destroy us. Like a new ship of unique design requiring a specialized crew, our New Church requires newly-authorized leadership under God inspired by His Word. This Community will be guided not by Man’s free will and reason, but by divine enlightenment which is not the property of natural Man, but only of supernatural Man. Thus only supernatural Man can guide our Church forward and make of it a great world religion; not by numbers perhaps, but by spiritual standards. Its doors will be open to people of all faiths, be they Muslim, Buddhist, Jew, Hindu, or of any religious belief. They need not give up anything; neither their beliefs nor their prophets and holy ones. This religion gives; it does not take. True spiritual unfoldment is the benefit of this religion. To reject it is to deny oneself this benefit.

“’This New Church, with its one founder and apostles, is independent of all other priesthoods. Thus, as first members of this Church, we must be spiritual, wise and dedicated enough to be able to take this teaching to all people, regardless of their philosophical or religious beliefs. However, though we must make our belief available to all, Man must use his own free will and intelligence, and decide for himself whether he desires to follow the Way of Light or remain in Darkness.

“’In order to teach, each of us must possess a charisma, each must be filled with the Holy Spirit — The Word. The Hand of God must rest on our shoulders. Each must wear the Robe of Christ. Each must exemplify the life that Jamil led – he taught us The Way – and by so doing we become members of the Order of the Child. As Jamil is Christ’s Christ, the Son of Christ, we, as members of this Order, become members of the Family of God. The nucleus of The Community will be those dedicated few who have elected to become the Guardians and Teachers.

“’Those who do not wish to serve The Community as Ministers may assist The Community in many other ways. However, they must never be allowed to dictate to The Community. It must always be under the command of the totally dedicated, those under the necessary oaths in order to serve as instruments of the living Christ. If we allow natural men and women of the material world to rule the Church, the Spirit would be removed. Undoubtedly, this is what happened to the Christian Church. It became so materialistic; that, to keep its material wealth, it had to make compromises and the Great Teaching became lost to it. This explains the need for the coming forth of a new Christ Teacher to rebuild, restore, and regenerate a New Church united with heavenly powers. Thus, when we go forth to instruct people of other religions, men and women of philosophy or science or politics, or from any level of human society, it must be as spiritual Teachers. We must be universalists of the first magnitude. We must be tolerant of the ideas and understanding of the beliefs of others. We must labor not as natural men and women with intolerance and selfish motivations, but as supernatural men and women under the inspiration of Christ.’”

As promised, we continue with our review of the Thirteenth Saying of Jamil. This portion deals directly with the Second Coming, or the Second Advent, which was prophesied by Jesus Christ and which this Community importantly represents.

The Thirteenth Saying (Part 10)

And The Man continued speaking to the Mariners of the Ship of Light.

“‘As we all know, it is fundamental in Christian teaching that there will be a Second Coming, or a return of Christ. What do we mean by the Second Coming? The average interpretation of the natural Man is that Jesus Christ will come in the flesh and teach us. Here we have a material conception of the Messiah – like the Jews who wanted to restore the Kingdom of Israel and triumph over the Romans and the world. This is what the Jews expected of Jesus: the establishment of a world political power. They were disillusioned when Jesus announced that his Kingdom was not of this world and that he wanted to create God’s Kingdom on Earth. It was out of frustration and disappointment, and the fact that he criticized the Jerusalem priesthood, that the Jews put Jesus to death.

“‘What Jesus refused the Jews, he will refuse the Gentiles who are very materialistically oriented. They see his risen body as flesh; his blood shed as an atonement for their sins. They expect him to govern the material world. Thus, they see the Second Coming of Christ in that manner. They do not know that Christ’s coming is a spiritual event of which the natural Man can never be a part. When we speak of light we really mean Light. Christians read the Gospels, which stress light, but do not understand what is meant. One has only to have a proper interpretation of scripture to understand that Christ is always linked with Light. How better could God affect the world than through the source of all light in the solar system?

“‘We see, then, that Jamil the Child and prophet-messenger gave to us a divine knowledge of God’s presence in a new Sun. A spiritual world can only be created by God. It can only be inhabited by spiritual beings. Thus the guidelines and directives for the creation of such a world must be regulated from the spiritual abodes of Light. Man does not have the faculties, or the free will and Intelligence, to build such a world on his own. He needs inspiration, transformation. The regenerative powers of God are required. Thus God sends forth His Angels of Light – His Will and Thought – in the Sun of Righteousness through which the pre-ordained are raised up to assist in this great work. Thus The Community is to be built by divine inspiration and direction, step by step, like the construction of a house: first a foundation, then the walls, and finally the roof.

“‘The Community had its origins in the Mind of God. This was foreordained just as were the workers who have been sent here to do the building. They are a chosen people. Once the house has been established it can benefit the whole family of Man. We thus see that The Community is a divine act of God. Each of you is the chosen one.

“The Sayings of Jamil tell me that our Church represents the Second Advent and elevates the Christian religion to its rightful position in the cosmic scheme of things. This New Church will be as different from popular Christianity as the early Church under Jesus was different from the religion of the Pharisees and Sadducees. The New Community will not be so much a social institution as it will be a spiritual institution. The New Church will divorce itself from materialism and the emphasis of the old church on salvation in Jesus the man, and the blood sacrifice and the atonement of sins. These were not the teachings of Jesus. He did not come to Earth for these reasons. Ordinary, natural men and women could not grasp the high teachings of Jesus, so they misunderstood and misapplied them. Thus natural Man claimed Jesus for his very own perverted his teachings.'”

Believe this. Trust in the Light, and all will be well.

I am writing to you today with an important message, and I urgently need your help. An unexpected emergency has arisen at the Chancellery. One week after we resumed Saturday Communion of Fellowship in our beloved Chapel of the Holy Child, the main water line broke. I do not believe it has been replaced since The Community acquired the property 41 years ago in 1979.

For the past several days the water has been turned off, and we have had to suspend chapel services, as well as much of our work as there is no running water whatsoever. We have been in discussion with three plumbing companies and have finally decided on one that can do the work in two days this week. However, the cost is approximately $7000.

You will be hearing from the Chancellery staff in the coming days asking for your pledge of support. This is quite an urgent matter, and the company insists on being paid promptly in 30 days. Of course, they required a 50{1fa2ef75e2e78439128d99df03acfe1d8ee3047374abe3d4676fe3470ff8b909} down payment. Please give this matter your utmost attention.

Returning now to The Thirteenth Saying of The Secret Sayings of Jamil, this part deals importantly with the New Church and those disciplined and dedicated individuals who live within it and who lead it as part of the evolutionary process. It also treats lightly on ascension and descension and touches on Christ both as Form and Force. Finally, that Christianity is being fulfilled by the New and True Church, which leads into some commentary on the Second Advent, or Second Coming, in the next portion of the commentary. These are short readings but very powerful.

The Thirteenth Saying (Part 9)

And The Man continued.

“‘As part of the evolutionary process, Jamil came to create a new Church. He knew that the Church had to be organized, institutionalized, governed, and regulated by men and women totally dedicated to this Teaching. Ordinary natural men and women would not have the intelligence nor the spiritual dedication to understand these teachings. Therefore, pre-existent beings are like the fishermen of Galilee who have been here as fish waiting to be netted. When they hear the Word of God – when they look at the Sun – they are quickened in a way beyond the comprehension of natural Man. If a turtle, a snake, a bird, or any other animal looks at the Sun, there is no spiritual evolvement. Only Man evolves. It is the same for the builders of any great world Religion of Light foreordained by God to come upon the planet. Certain pre-ordained respond in a higher manner than ordinary individuals. Yet Christ can quicken the Light spirit of any person. Just who we are will be answered when we commend our spirits unto God when leaving this planet and pass into the Worlds of Light.

“‘Jesus, being a Rabbi of the Essene Order, a third order of the Jewish religion, was a disciplined man as were all the Apostles who followed him. They did not go out and teach independently. They did not interpret his words differently. All the Apostles allied themselves together into a single, living Community, accepting Jesus as the founder. And after the death of Jesus and the Apostles, even Paul, the self-professed apostle, constantly stressed the need for church discipline, even though he appealed to the natural Man. Our Church is not a church for the natural Man to join on his own terms. The nature of natural Man is to be at odds with his fellows. The supernatural person automatically fits into cosmic patterns as part of the evolutionary process of growth. One does not need to be told why it is necessary to live in accordance with higher, cosmic law and order. When one evolves, that is, becomes conscious of the supernatural state, one simply falls into step with The Community out of spiritual instinct. Therefore, Man ascends to higher worlds and descends into lower worlds.

“‘Concerning the matter of descent from higher worlds into material worlds, we have discussed from time to time the concept of multiple Christs; in other words, Jamil in relation to Jesus. This concept has caused considerable debate. We teach that Jamil was a highly evolved, spiritual being who descended to Earth from the Worlds of Light as did Jesus before him. Jamil was a messenger of God who announced or revealed the coming of a New Age under God’s Messianic Sun of Righteousness that was earlier predicted by Jesus during his ministry. Jamil proclaimed himself to be the last Holy One to come to Earth. There is finality in these words.

“‘Because he was sent into the world, Christ’s servants are being collected together by this calling out in anticipation for the final age when Light will conquer Darkness forever. Jamil, like Jesus, has left us. But his spirit remains with us in the New Sun filled with God”’s Will, called The Word, as a source of illumination. He has given His Light for Man’s use to attain immortality. It was because of Jamil that we know of this source.

“‘Many ancient peoples – the Mexicans, Peruvians, Persians, Romans, Greeks, among others – believed in a solar religion. Each culture approached the matter of salvation in a different way. But, for whatever reasons, these religions came into being,; they degenerated into material teachings. It seems that religion, like Man, is born, flourishes, becomes diseased and then dies. During this process they all become materialistic. Thus, Jamil came to Earth from a higher world to reveal the coming of a New Religion to be nurtured by God’s New Sun, and by great Beings of Light who will all together aid men and women of Light working on Earth. Our own Christian religion, being bound up with the Sun, has decayed into a material power. So we teach that the coming of Jamil fulfills the religion of Christianity through the Messianic Sun filled with God’s Image and Word. Thus Christianity is fulfilled. Jesus is fulfilled. Nothing is destroyed.’”
