The Seventeenth Saying (Part 8)

“After saying these words The Man grew silent. And after a space of time, the fourth mariner spoke. ‘Would you say that the collective consciousness of the world, of humanity as a whole, is at this moment unable to affect the sun in a positive way, that it is actually affecting it in a negative way?’

“And The Man answered him with a strong voice. ‘When we use the term consciousness, we mean spiritual Consciousness, the mind of the spirit, the intelligence of the spiritual person. Man has two spirits. By means of the Teachings of this institution, the spirit of Christ enters into the Light spirit, which generates a Soul. To have a Soul means a person is reborn in possession of a Christ Beingness, a Christ Form and a Christ Consciousness; which is to say, in possession of a Consciousness of God. When Man is reborn in such a way, he assumes his original Form, Being and Consciousness, even though he exists as a natural man or woman in the natural world. He is restored in the Image of God and can understand God’s Word spoken in the Light of the spiritual Sun. His Dark spirit is inflamed with this Light, and hearing God, he no longer listens to the Dark side of his nature, that unnatural man, for he becomes the supernatural Man as he was in the beginning of the Creation before the Fall.

“‘Therefore, those few spiritual persons who are following the Way to immortality by applying the spiritual science of Cosolargy are joined together into a new Order of God’s, True Church, seeking to restore the world and the sun to a healthy state, and this entails a transformation.

“‘While, according to modern physics, energy can be transformed into matter and matter can be transformed into energy, we move a step further and say that energy can be transformed into intelligence, and intelligence into energy. Thus we say that energy came from Consciousness, which is, in reality, a fifth-dimensional state. We therefore move beyond energy and matter, beyond velocity and motion, and beyond time into a state or level of consciousness which represents a higher level.

“‘Everything is kept in order by a law, and this law must have been created by intelligence. An intelligence superior to that of Man must exist. Since physics does not acknowledge Consciousness, or intelligence, as an integral part of the universe, it does not consider all of reality, and therefore it is a limited science.

“‘Consciousness, or superior intelligence if you prefer, is an integral part of the universe which overrides matter, form, being, motion, and also time. Possession of Consciousness distorts time as we know it. For example, a person who has developed Consciousness in this System can project that Consciousness into the sun and beyond, thus changing his whole concept of time: for he is able to bridge distances that enable him to be involved in space, time, and motion; he has an abundant use of energy, and thus a greater effect on form and matter.

“‘And again, if we leave out intelligence and information, we are only seeing part of the picture. What happens to the universe when scientists create a thermonuclear reaction? What happens to the universe when Man misapplies the energies of the universe? Are not the laws of the universe affected? To what degree we do not readily know, but I would suggest that the ill health of the sun can be traced in part to such events. The modern world of science has misapplied the energy of nature, not by any bad intention or evil thought, but out of ignorance. Man has rejected the concept of divine intelligence regulating the universe. Man believes he is the highest authority, answerable to no power outside of himself and his laws. That is why he uses these powers when forced to in the event of war. He also abuses nature out of greed for power or economic advantage over individuals and nations or peoples.’”

This portion of the commentary of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil discusses the all-important topic of origins – where did we come from as spiritual beings before our descent into matter. The Seventeenth Saying (Part 7)

“And the First Mariner spoke again asking, ‘Could Consciousness be considered as being the unifying field or force which unites all forces, and at the same time is the cause of all forces?’ The Man answered him saying, ‘We know from our theological studies that from Consciousness comes Being and Form. Form in its original state issued out of Being and was composed of pre-existent matter, which means a non-physical matter. It seems that there is a field around the physical body which is an organizing field and could be the outline of the pre-existent spiritual Form and should not be confused with Consciousness. Thus, knowing that Form issued out of Being, and Being issued of Consciousness, we go back to the first cause of Being and Form, which is Consciousness. This leads us to a spiritual, or non-material explanation of existence.

“Originally, Man existed prior to his material state. This means Man descended from a pre-existent form, that is, one that pre-existed the material form, into material form. Man was an immortal who dwelt in a higher world. He took on a mortal form, which was denied its original source of energy or at least only had access to a lesser source of energy. Therefore, there had to be a pre-existent world, a proto-world, in which Man existed as a pre-existent or proto-Man, an archetypal Man of great magnitude. This is contrary to the theory of secular science which holds that Man evolved out of a lower form, another animal form, fighting in a world of eternal struggle for survival of the fittest. This concept leads us back to your question on Consciousness and the unifying field; that is, a non-material envelope which sustains the material body. This idea is contrary to secular scientific thought inasmuch as it cannot be proven by material science.

“We know from scientific disciplines that a viewpoint is very important in determining reality, and that said reality can change based on one’s viewpoint or what is seen by an observer. For example, if one follows material teachings as secular scientists, seeing life only as material, then one is seeing a distorted and limited view of life. If one sees life from the spiritual view, one has an expanded concept of life. This means that Man is an animal only from a scientific point of view, but not necessarily because he is. The religionist perceives Man to be a spiritual being first, and a material being secondly. Scientists see the material being and nothing more. By this kind of reasoning, we can see that a person who has a materialistic point of view cannot possibly look at the sun with beneficial results. Only spiritually-oriented persons can achieve this effect through generated Consciousness – we know from our theological formulas that out of Consciousness evolved Being, and from Being evolved Form. Thus, in regaining our lost, pre-existent image of Consciousness, Being, and Form, we must return to the source of our origin. This requires a spiritual outlook. Any material outlook, like that of the material mind-body, is incapable of transcending the material world.’”

We are fast approaching the start of the Christmas-Epiphany Season. We of the resident Community will, of course, observe the thirteen-day sunrise vigil at the Sanctuary which commences on Christmas Day and continues through the twelve days of Christmas culminating on Epiphany Day, January 6th. Unfortunately and regrettably, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, The Community’s annual Epiphany Eve Banquet will not be held this year. This portion of the commentary of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil continues to treat on the state of health of our sun and moves into the realm of the cosmic battle between the Powers of Light and the Powers of Darkness.

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 6)

“And the Second Mariner posed a question: ‘Are the physical manifestations of the disease in the sun related to solar flares and increased sunspot activity observed for a number of years by members of our own Order and by secular scientists?’

“And The Man thought deeply for a long while, then answered saying, ‘Astrophysicists have observed regular blemishes on the surface of the sun as a result of solar flares in eleven and twenty-two-year cycles. In recent years these cycles have become unstable. Observers of our own Order have been measuring these solar disruptions for more than twenty-two years*, noting that the disruptions are the result of deeper causes within the sun which can be related to the earth’s state of affairs: or perhaps the reverse is true. In any event, the sun and the earth are interrelated, and sunspots and solar flares reflect this interrelationship.’

“And again the Second Mariner spoke, ‘Is the deeper cause of solar activity perhaps related to the allegorical celestial war between the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness; that is, the battle between the fifth- and fourth-dimensional levels of being as suggested in the scrolls of the Dead Sea that appear to describe the ideas and beliefs of the Essenes of Israel?’

“And The Man answered the Mariner saying, ‘The nature of the sun, or its state of health, reflects conditions upon the earth and within the sun itself. The Essenes realized this and wrote of it. Often our adepts look at the sun seeking light and energy, love and peace, and oftentimes they receive the opposite, which indicates that the sun is ill at times. It is like looking at a healthy flower that gives beauty to the eye and a pleasant aroma to the nostrils. If the flower is dying, it appears ugly and gives off a putrid smell.

“‘The best way to answer your question is by saying that adepts of the sun have observed that the health of the sun is affected by the Darker celestial beings that control the movements of the earth, or at least affect it with negative and disruptive thoughts which cause wars and social upheavals. Their influence upon the earth is enhanced by Man’s loss of the sacred teachings and inability to resist the Darker influences. Even if an ordinary person, who is not trained properly in how to combat the adverse effects, were to look at the sun, as do members of our Order, the sun would continue to be brutalized by the Dark thoughts generated by Dark beings within the sun who influence its life, and therefore influence all other bodies within the solar system that depend upon this energy for light, heat, and thus life itself. It would seem from all that has been revealed to us, and by what has been written in the sacred scripture of holy orders of ancient times, that a cosmic war between the Powers of Light and Darkness actually takes place within the sun and upon the earth. Sunspot activity has been related to economic upheavals, social unrest, wars, revolutions, plagues, famines, floods, and drought. The planet and Man are regulated by cycles and by forces outside of his world, just as animals and all other living things respond to the environment as determined by conditions not of their making.

“‘If the adepts are not taught how to properly combat the Darker influences from the sun, they are not going to be able to overcome them in order to restore the sun to a state of health. Therefore, the existence of our School has a reason – to train adepts in the proper way to bring about favorable changes in the sun. We affect the sun through Christ Consciousness – not by mind, or emotion, or the psyche, nor by the rational, logical reasoning processes – only by developed spiritual Consciousness. As we know from our study of theology, Christ Consciousness governs energy and light.’”

Please pay special attention to the last paragraph. It is of the utmost importance. We will continue with these themes next week.

We continue with the lengthy review of the commentary on the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil with The Man continuing to discourse to his disciples at the ancient Kahuna healing temple on the island of Oahu on concepts of self-awareness.

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 5)

“‘Let us return to the idea of self-awareness, the self which we measure ourselves by. Man believes he is a person and an individual; he thinks, ‘Am I going to be immortal? Am I going to be happy? Am I going to be successful?’ That is only one portion of his being speaking or thinking. This is his ego speaking; that part created by his culture or civilization. The animal man cannot speak; that is, organs, glands, nerves, cells, blood, or brain. His organism remains mute. It is only a level or a degree of self-awareness that says ‘I.’ In fact, the individual does not even know all the various entities that exist within him or her on the material, biological level, on the spiritual level, on the psychic level, on the emotional level, and on the mental level. There are hundreds of entities and intelligences within a person.

“‘So who is the ‘I,’ or what is the self? Man is nothing more than any other animal. He consumes specific kinds of food to prevent these kinds from becoming dominant in the ecosystem. He breathes oxygen, a process which in itself contributes to the functioning of the ecosystem. He defecates to fertilize the earth. He is actually being used to keep the planet alive. Man is like a microcosm keeping and sustaining this planet. In a manner of speaking, we are all valves of energy exchange.

“‘Again, what is the self? If you, the self that is talking to me now, were to be imprisoned in the frame of a bird, you would think like a bird. You would be automatically taken over by an instinct that would tell you how to hunt for a worm or for a cereal grain, how to find a mate, how to gather twigs to make a nest, when to mate, when to lay an egg, and how to take care of the young. It would not be you, it would be instinct. And what is instinct? It is a frequency to which you are attuned. If you see yourself as a radio receiver, you may see that you may be only attuned to a certain frequency, and that is all you can hear. If you were suddenly put into the body of a snake, the great ‘you’ would become that snake, and that is all you could become because that biological organism only allows you to think within the ability of that nervous system and brain.

“‘The sun, like other living things, is connected to other stellar systems and receives its energy from these systems. It is not self-generated. It is a carrier of intelligence and information. The sun is so vastly superior to terrestrial bodies that we cannot compare it to a person or animal. That means that the sun is a living creature which is more intelligent than we are. This is very difficult for Western minds trained in Western science to accept because Man, in his arrogance, truly believes he is the most sophisticated creature alive. Our religions tell us we are sophisticated, not our sciences. Science belittles Man. It limits his life span, and sickens him as it is sickening the planet. And this is not to be critical of science, but only to point it out as a limited discipline. Religion tells us that we were made in the Image of God. We do not know what God looks like. He certainly does not look like our transitory material body. In reality, we have secular religions that tell us little about our spiritual nature, our true image. Only a revealed religion teaches us of our true spiritual nature and how to awaken it properly in order to transcend our material nature.

“‘Once we become spiritual beings, we are then made in the Image of God. When we begin to think and function on the level of spiritual Consciousness, we go beyond what the mind conceives, beyond what the physical senses perceive. Once we are projected into the sun and the stellar systems, we transcend the limitations of the material planet. We are then influenced by other intelligences, particularly by the intelligence of the sun itself as a living being, and by those other suns to which it is linked. To be sure, the sun is a valve for energy exchange, just as is Man on a much smaller scale. But the sun is not a mechanical object. Knowledge of our religious science is so far advanced, so far beyond that of our popular, secular religions and churches, that it is difficult for us to explain it.

“‘The Consciousness of a man like Jesus, the Consciousness of a Moses, the Consciousness developed by the great prophets of times past, was so vastly superior to that of theologians, scientists, economists, politicians, statesman and businessmen of the world today that they cannot be compared. The reason most of the great religious leaders never wrote about what they knew was that there was no way to put it into the written word. There was no way to tell people about it because it is beyond the reasoning powers of the mind to grasp its message as conveyed by a written or spoken language. Once one develops Consciousness, one is transported beyond the range of the mind and senses. One becomes allied with the higher intelligences of the sun and beyond, and of those spiritual intelligences beyond everything material; in other words, we become allied with other dimensions and intelligences which are more akin to God. If we conceive ourselves to be only animals, only as material creatures, then we limit ourselves. We become no more important than a squirrel or an elephant or a dinosaur. We can perish the same as so many species did if we do not keep pace with the environment, or if the environment changes.

“‘Because this planet will go on living, it can go on living without Man. If it starts to die, Man can go, and other systems, perhaps plants and microorganisms can keep the planet alive on a more simple level. The planet itself has a purpose in the cosmos. If we think in terms of the planet as being a smaller living organism within the structure of a greater living organism, as a small electron spinning around the nucleus of the sun, the solar system itself being a small atom of a greater living organism, we can see ourselves as rather insignificant. To discover the purpose of the planet and of the material universe as a whole, we must enter into the realms of a greater intelligence and go beyond our material minds and bodies which pass away after a short life. The sun and its intelligence level are the means which can make this possible.’”

“‘We have been told in the sacred scripture of our church that Man has two natures. Ancient scripture declares that Man has two spirits. One is influenced by Dark beings. The other spirit is related to the Light. Therefore, Man has a dual nature. One nature strives after intellect; this nature motivates secular science. It strives after knowledge of the material world. It uses knowledge for power and for control over others, or for gain, and not necessarily for its own good or the good of the world or for the cosmos as a whole. It is this nature that is causing the illness of the sun. The spiritual nature strives after knowledge of God, and the desire to express a higher nature, to serve God and humankind, to make the world Good. This nature sustains the spiritual or Good side of the sun. So, when we speak of the sun becoming diseased, we see it is due to Man’s Dark nature opening the gates of the fourth-dimensional creatures which can bring about the death of the sun.

“‘The great schools that bred adepts of the spirit and taught them how to reflect to the sun to keep it from becoming ill are gone. As a consequence, there is no earthly agency to combat the fourth-dimensional creatures. And there is no way for beings of Light to aid humankind, or to gain access to the material world, because the adepts are a vanishing race. Thus, our sun is dying, which will result in the death of the planet.’

“The Third Mariner asked of The Man saying, ‘When we speak of the sun as a living being, can we say that it possesses, as does Man, a self-awareness or self-consciousness? Or is the sun just a valve, a mechanical thing, that distributes energy in accordance with God’s Will and laws of the interstellar system? Could we perceive the sun to be a living being, like Man as a human being, with self awareness or self-consciousness which distinguishes Man from the lower animals?’

“And The Man answered his Companion of the Way, saying ‘We think in terms of Man as being the highest creature on the planet, which is true. This is not because he is the strongest, the fastest, the most aggressive, or even the most beautiful. It is because he possesses intelligence. This intelligence is what sets Man apart from the animals. The secular scientist stresses Man as being intelligent, and sets him apart from the animals. Yet, our medical sciences often call Man simply an animal. This contradiction on the part of secular science is the point that most spiritual adepts find strange.

“‘As an animal, Man is inferior to many animals. The elephant lives longer than Man, as a general rule. Parrots and turtles can live longer than Man. How does one measure who is the most important, the most sophisticated, or the best animal? By size, by speed, by strength, by long life? If a turtle lives to be one hundred and fifty years old and a man lives to be seventy, why is a man greater than an animal? He is not. It is his intelligence that sets him apart from the animals, not his animal body.’”

We continue with the substantial commentary of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil. This portion of the commentary moves on from curing the material sun to the concept of the multi-dimensional intelligences residing within it. I find it quite fascinating, as I’m sure you will.

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 3)

And The Man continued:

“‘Returning to the concept of the cosmos as a dimension, we need to consider the following points. Are there living intelligences in the sun? Of course there are. One might inquire at this point whether these intelligences are fifth-dimensional or fourth dimensional. One might speculate that these intelligences are fourth-dimensional, or should be fourth-dimensional, because the sun is material, and we know that fifth-dimensional beings inhabit a spiritual world. But since we are discussing the distinction between material and spiritual, let us speculate somewhat.

“‘The fourth dimension, as well as the fifth dimension, must occupy a place in time or space. This place must be within our perceptory range, either by means of our physical or spiritual senses. The only place in the known universe where this could occur is the sun, and when we go to the sun by means of our sense of vision, we immediately enter stellar systems because the sun is interrelated with other sun systems. Let us suppose that solar beings or solar intelligences are representative of the fourth and fifth dimensions; that is, both Light beings and Dark beings exist within the stellar systems. This would indicate that energy radiated from the sun would be filled with intelligences of both Light and Dark beings, and that all information streaming down to earth from the sun in the form of sunlight, and other forms of solar radiation, is ultra-dimensional. Therefore, when we, as solar adepts, look at the sun, we become involved with intelligences higher than our own and that of our planet.

“‘These concepts open up new vistas for the human mind, and especially for our spiritual Consciousness which is a higher faculty of cognition that does not have its origin in the third-dimensional world. It has its origin in a higher dimension which is a dimension just briefly removed from God. We can assume that the higher intelligences and the intelligence of energy from the sun and the stars nourish Man’s true being, which by necessity is nurtured on ultradimensional forms of energy and intelligence. Man’s true being does not live on blood or living creatures; this true being lives on intelligence and energy not generated by the planet. In other words, Man is an ultradimensional being that has his origin in ultradimensional worlds. When he desires to transcend the material world, he must generate, or cause to come into being, a new nature that has direct contact with higher worlds.’”

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 2)

And The Man continued to say to the Companions of the Way:

“‘As adepts we look at the physical sun, believing we can bring about its cure. We do it not by focusing on the physical sun but on the spiritual Sun of Righteousness. We do this not by means of our mind, will, or emotions but by a developed spiritual Consciousness. This is to say that an adept who has learned to apply the formulas and rites in the proper way can influence the spiritual Sun and have a positive effect on the material sun, whereas secular persons would only contribute to the death of the material sun by infecting it with their negative and materialistic thoughts, thus resulting in the death of the planet.

“‘Spiritual solar adepts are cognizant of the spiritual Sun behind the physical sun, and of the True Earth as it exists in its original form, not just of what is perceived by the perceptory senses, or of that which is registered by the mind and emotions.

“‘Secular scientists account material phenomena and discount spiritual phenomena. They look at the result as opposed to the source, to the effect as opposed to the cause. They judge the solar system by what they perceive with their senses or by means of their instruments or machines. Secular science is just what its name implies – material science. The sun nourishes the solar system with energy in its diverse forms. Scientists look at this energy as a source of energy to be applied in a practical manner. They do not acknowledge the existence of an intelligence within that energy. When they use energy they discount this intelligence factor and the laws governing it. We, of this religion, being spiritual scientists, consider that the sun is a source of intelligence or information – this was recognized in ancient days by the Greeks, Romans, Persians, Chinese, Indians, Mexicans, Peruvians, and peoples of many other cultures who recognized and conceived the sun to be a living being with an intelligence as opposed to an inanimate object, such as a ball of fire, and that the human race with all of creation evolved by this solar intelligence and by the Intelligence of God.

“‘All living things on the planet are influenced by the intelligence of the living sun and the planet, and these intelligences are stronger than their own. This concept clashes with the modern world’s idea that every person possesses free will. So the cosmos, being filled with energy radiated by the sun and star systems, holds sway over the sensible world and the intelligible world, to use the old Roman terminology, by the intelligence factors within the energy or radiation. The cosmos is a material dimension which is governed by energy and radiation. The material world is governed by the radiation and intelligence of the sun in the same way the physical sun receives its energy and intelligence from other suns or star systems. Thus, when we consider the material universe, we must consider that it is more extensive than the small globe we call Earth. Our planet Earth represents only a small part, an insignificant part, of what constitutes the material universe. The material universe is endless if perceived by the senses. If measured by the perceptory senses or studied by the mind it cannot be finite because it has had no beginning and therefore can have no end. Thus, the material universe is beyond the logical or rational mind. The cosmos has no beginning or end for us because we cannot perceive this beginning or end; it is beyond our capacity to do so. If scientists were to examine the end of the universe, that point where it appears to end, that ending would be a beginning because light expands out in all directions at a speed faster than our senses can perceive it. For this reason, the material universe cannot be measured or even understood by a materialistic science that excludes the origin and very nature of the universe.’”
