We will be concluding our review of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil over the next several weeks. As you can see, the commentary is one of the longer ones. I anticipate there will be about 20 parts in total. So, let us continue with The Man still speaking to the Companions of The Way.

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 13)

“‘Some people believe that God is everywhere, and that everyone is heir to goodness and will attain his or her immortality without any kind of effort, without any kind of legitimate development on his or her part. They believe that a person will become immortal and exist with God in the future. There is no proof, scientific or otherwise, for this. Man does have responsibility in the cosmos. Man is not as a dumb animal, allowed to do what he will when he wants to without consequence. Man is responsible for his acts, and any misconduct on his part will certainly be dealt with by the laws of God. You have all seen how the light of the sun, its brilliance, and its field, can be altered by the environment. If one is in an environment such as a bank, lawyer’s office, hospital, or similar places, and looks at the sun, one will find that the sun is very harsh. The result can be a headache. If you are at a temple, or in a park outside of the confines of a city, you will find that the sun is bland, easy to look at, and the result is a beneficial response of the sun. What does this tell us? It means that Consciousness, Intellect, mind, emotion – all of our states and degrees of life – affect us and our environment, and can affect our states of being.

“‘For example, the sun can be many things to many people. The sun can be very benevolent to one person in a benevolent environment and very adverse or damaging to another person in a negative environment. It is like looking into a magic mirror. You see the true image in reverse. This is a very important point to remember. Adepts learn, from the moment of their initiation into the Order, that they cannot fool the sun. They cannot deceive the face of God. They cannot look at the Eye of God without being observed for what they are. This indicates that Man is a responsible creature and dictates, in accordance with divine laws of the universe, what his destiny will be in this life and beyond.

“‘An evil person may see a Christ being as a very ugly creature that makes him very nervous and upset. He does not want that being around him. A spiritual person will see a Christ person for what he or she is. A spiritual person will see the Sun of Righteousness in all its glory and splendor. As if drinking from a fountain of Light, a spiritual person will be restored and invigorated by the beauty and brilliance of the Sun. An evil person who looks upon the face of the sun will see nothing but a brilliant orb that can blind him. Again, the Sun, God, and beings in Christ are not the same thing to all people.’”

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 12)

And The Man continued addressing the Mariners, saying:

“‘Light beings will always exist wherever there is Light. Wherever God points a finger, wherever there is a manifestation of Light, beings will appear within that Light. From such higher forms evolved Man. In view of what has been said, it is within the realm of possibility that our own earth evolved out of the sun, or portions of the sun. Higher beings, as part of this solar “stuff,” could very well have evolved down to a lower scale as physical beings of matter.

“‘This School has come forth at a time when the world is ignorant of these great Teachings, just as it is ignorant of Man’s heritage as a spiritual being. The world is truly ignorant of the real message of Jesus and now also of Jamil. It is actually ignorant of the power that rests with the mind and Consciousness of Man, and of the fields that envelop his material being. In spite of all scientific theories, and the many schools of metaphysics that claim to know the means, the fact remains that no institution or school possesses these secrets. It is essential that you, in our School, learn early to look beyond yourselves; and understand the meaning of spirituality, because if one views life from a selfish viewpoint, one will never understand the meaning of God and the meaning of the Teachings of this great School of Light.

“‘There must be a School in the End Times to teach a sacred body of men and women this knowledge so that they may preserve life on the planet and be responsible for creating a New Race of Man who, in effect, could halt the death of the planet and bring about its transformation into a spiritual world of Light. This is the whole concept of our Teachings.

“‘To a solar adept, the idea of the world changing into Light is not any more fantastic than the idea of an atomic explosion is to modern Man. However, because of ignorance and inability to understand, the concept of the world changing to Light is, to modern Man, as fantastic as the concept of atomic explosion would have been to a primitive mind. However, though Man has created the modern world, he is still at the beginning of what he is capable of creating.

“‘The very fact that matter can be transformed into energy proves that energy can be transformed into something else, such as intelligence, or as in this case, Consciousness. What I am trying to say, in so many words, is that when we enter into the realm of Consciousness, and when we project ourselves into the sun, we are penetrating dimensions of tremendous power and force.’”

I trust you experienced special benefits in and from the Light during this year’s Second Advent Vigil which commemorates the birth of the Sun of Righteousness and the New Advent of God that dawned in 1962. Let us now resume our review of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil.

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 11)

“The Second Mariner asked another question saying, ‘Is Man’s negative effect on the sun then an indirect product of his ignorance and desire to follow intellect as opposed to a direct effect on the sun by beings or powers of a Darker nature? Or are both occurring?’

“And he answered The Mariner saying, ‘It is both. For example, Jesus spoke about the Essenic concept that the earth and the cosmos would be destroyed by fire. This same idea was taught in ancient Egypt, Greece, Persia, and Babylonia. And according to the ancient concept of Quetzalcoatl, the sun had to be kept alive by sacrifice or it would die. The perverted version of this idea was that blood had to be shed to keep the sun alive. This misinterpretation was also present in the Hebrew concept of sacrificing blood to Jehovah, or the Christian concept that Jesus shed his blood as an atonement for Man’s sins. It is all the same basic idea. Christians will argue the point, but basically, it is the same concept.

“‘The higher concept of the Essenes was that Man had to sacrifice a pure mind and a pure heart to be able to restore the sun. The Essenes believed that if they did not continue to do this, the sun would die and the end of the world would occur. Of course, the Jewish world did more or less end with the destruction of Jerusalem. The early Christian or Messianist Community believed the whole world would come to an end; however, prior to this occurrence, Christians would come out of the Church in apostasy to prepare for the Second Coming of God who would recreate the world and restore it to its original form before Man’s fall in the Garden of Eden.

“‘All living things have a predetermined life span. Man’s life on earth is predetermined to be three score and ten years, more or less. The planet has a specific life span because it is a living thing. How long will it live? We do not know, but if it becomes diseased before its normal life span is completed, it can die prematurely. That is logical. This is the condition that we find ourselves in today. People can say, “That is ridiculous. The world will not die. It always has been and it will always be.” It is like saying, “I will never get sick and I will never die.” Most people really like to believe that there is going to be an exception in their case, that they are going to live forever. But nobody ever does – the planet is not going to, and the sun is not going to. The human race, like the planet and our sun, is doomed to extinction. It is inevitable. Without a planet, the race could not be sustained. Without a sun, the planet could not be sustained. When the sun dies, the planet must die and all life must cease. That spells the end of Man. Does this mean the cessation of all life in the solar system? It certainly means the end for what we know as Man.

“‘Therefore, a person who is concerned about this end, who wishes to go beyond the limitations of material existence by means of higher forms of Consciousness, and who wishes to explore those dimensions wherein dwells his or her higher Consciousness that survives bodily death, is, above all persons, very realistic, practical, and intelligent. The world today is basing its whole reality on bodily existence, and is not concerned about the world of the spirit, that is, about non-materiality. The world of modern Man is occupied with politics, economics and survival. He looks to nothing beyond this life, for his materialistic attitudes tell him there is nothing more to look forward to after death claims the body.

“‘Man, especially a secular scientist or a materialist, would say that there cannot be any kind of a revealed religion because there is nothing to reveal – there is no other source and no other higher authority except the state and the institutions of the world. This is a very limited point of view. What happened to the Roman authorities or the Greek authorities or to the authorities of Persia or of Egypt? They all passed away, yet people today think that their institutions of learning and their own great civilization will endure. Of course, this is not true. We should learn from history that nothing endures, nothing.

“‘Someday our scientists and our sciences will all be dust. There will be nothing left but “life” continuing on the planet. We do not know what species of living forms will inherit the world tomorrow. We of this School teach that it is not going to be Man as we know him today, that material Man is going to become extinct, whether he likes it or not because he is destined to destroy the very system that sustains him. Imagine the consequences if Man polluted the oceans and cut down all the trees. There would not be enough oxygen to support life as we know it. What would exist? Some form of lower life that would evolve and inherit the earth? It is inevitable that that creature would become heir to all of the knowledge around us. Now, would that lower life stand up and walk like a man? Probably not. Secular sciences would have us believe that that is what would happen according to their ideas of evolution of the species. On the other hand, Man’s spirit would not be destroyed by a lack of oxygen any more than Man’s spirit is destroyed by the loss of the body.’”

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 9)

“‘I might add that in the world today, a person may say, “I am beyond religion. I no longer believe in organized religion. I have a personal relationship with God, based on my self-awareness.” And the person prides himself or herself on this concept. This is all well enough if one is measuring oneself up against the secular or popular religions of the world, but one cannot claim one’s individuality is superior to a spiritual organization inspired of God by revelation, an organization which possesses a teaching that enables adepts to project themselves beyond the limitations of the space-time continuum into the sun and beyond. Such adepts are indeed part of a True Religion. A True Religion cannot be confined only to our planet; on the contrary, it has to go beyond, or it is not religion. Therefore, religions that restrict themselves to sacrifices and dogmatic worship and ritual and rites, and pray for victory in war, or pray for material wealth and long life, are indeed not spiritual. They are materialistic religions.

“‘The sun has been radiating a somewhat constant amount of energy for many years. The result on earth has been reflected in Man’s way of life. For thousands of years, transportation was limited to the use of animals and the carts or mechanical devices animals could pull; communication was limited to Man’s ability to personally carry messages or send them by means of mirrors, smoke, or sound. The uses of technology and mechanization were quite limited in comparison to our present age when, all of a sudden, life seems to have greatly accelerated. Man is growing more, thinking more, accomplishing more technologically than ever before. The advances in the last hundred years have been tremendous. We have communication by means of telephone, telegraph, and satellite. We have radio and television, the automobile, jet engines, and rockets; in fact, we have gone beyond our world into space. All this has happened in the last fifty or one hundred years. [Please bear in mind that this discussion took place in 1979 before the advent of the even more sophisticated technology of which we are all aware.]

“‘Why have we projected ourselves so far scientifically in the last fifty to one hundred years? It is because we have learned how to use material energy – create machines to do the work for us. The source of this sudden increase in our ability to transform intelligence and information into mechanical or material energy is a different solar energy. But again, I point to the fact that as we draw closer to a great use of solar energy and matter, we are going to come into greater uses of intelligence because, as we know, Form came out of Being, and Being came out of Consciousness. The more complicated our use of Form and matter becomes, the more we are drawn into Being and Consciousness.

“‘For example, as we begin to apply solar energy, the intelligence factor of that energy and the information locked up within it are going to affect Man’s surrounding. The more Man applies energy, the more intelligence becomes available to the human mind and psyche. It is all around us. It is manifesting to us. In other words, as we release energy into the atmosphere, we are releasing intelligence into the atmosphere which has to affect this living cell we call the planet. If you think about it a moment you will see the point that I am getting at.

“‘The ancient mystics and philosophers of divine thought were well aware of the dangers of misapplying energy or the laws of nature for material gain. Indeed, they were forbidden to make any practical application of their knowledge of divine laws. This is why Jesus never wrote down his Teachings. That’s why the Sacred Teachings of the masters were always guarded by the disciples of the masters and never survived their deaths. A secrecy was always maintained. The great miracle schools feared that Man would begin to learn the secrets of the universe and apply this knowledge which would destroy him.

“‘The mythological references to sunken continents, to lost cities and worlds, to Atlantis lost beneath the seas, are credited to the misapplication of power which, as a consequence, destroyed the peoples concerned. Perhaps many of these stories are true, while others are allegories that reveal hidden truths. We know that with the abuse of nature’s laws by modern Man, with the pollution of the ecosystem, and especially with Man’s stark materialism and emphasis on gain at the expense of human dignity, and the denial of Man as bearer of the Spirit of God, the earth and the sun are being adversely affected, resulting in an unstable solar system that could end life as we know it.

“‘Scientists speak about billions of suns and stars in a vast material universe existing in space. They scoff at the uniqueness of Man. They believe that with the multitude of suns and worlds in many galaxies, there must be other kinds of life. That is certainly a logical, rational conclusion, but it is not based on any scientific proof at all. On the contrary, science has not discovered life beyond Earth. Theory not based on experience or absolute proof is dogma, and scientific dogma is no different than religious dogma – it is all theory until proven.

“‘Man is unique in all the universe. Truly unique. He is made in the Image of God. And the vast expanding universe which began with release of energy and intelligence was the cause of what we see around us. It is ever-expanding and will continue to expand in all directions forever, never ceasing until it is transformed back to its pre-existent state of Consciousness, Being, and Form. Our School, as a divine institution of learning, is dedicated to teaching Man how he may regenerate himself into a higher being with the assistance of God. Until he accomplishes this, he will continue to adversely affect the universe. The adepts of our School are dedicated to repairing the damage to the world and the cosmos through the sun, not in a haphazard manner but on an orderly basis according to a sacred and revealed Way.’”
