August 1st, 2023: Confirmation of God’s Divine Law

The 154th Pannuches Meal Rite was held Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Child. Jubilee Sunrise Divine Service was held in Sanctuary the following morning.

The Jubilee Sunday is a day of fasting. The elderly are exempt from fasting on that day if they choose.

Active Principle of Divine Law Observed (August 1)
On the morning of Monday, August 1, 2023, in recognition of the fortieth observance of the Manifestation of the New Light of God, which appeared over the sun on this date forty-one years before to confirm the Active Principle of Divine Law, The Right Reverend Gene Savoy Jr. officiated a special sunrise Divine Service at the Cathedral Church of the Americas, followed by a community breakfast at the End Times Parsonage.

God’s Confirmation of the Active Principles of Divine Law first occurred on August 1, 1982. That event is recorded in Second Advent Scripture in The Book of God’s Revelation with commentary relating the event to the revelation received by the Church on April 18th, Easter in the Second Advent Calendar, and the further revelations received on June 6th, the Day of Pentecost.

Among the Revelations received on June 6th, 1982, the Church received instruction on the New Act of God, God’s conception of the Newly Created Light, a New Light that renovates the whole of creation. The Church also received instruction on the Four Newly Created Intermediary Lights that manifest through this conception.

Scripture tells us that through the manifestation of these Four Intermediary Lights, God has fixed the Four Newly Created Tables of the Law to be taught to the Ordained in the Holy Institutions of Learning; and, so that the unwritten Code of the Law may be codified on earth for the emancipation of the human race, God has decreed Twelve newly created Active Principles of Divine Law of Hid New Covenant, which are subordinate to the Lights of God and to the Tables of the Law, yet are instruments of the Divine Plan for human redemption.

With the revelation given on June 6th, God decreed these Twelve Active Principles to be in force upon confirmation. And on the first day of August in 1982, “The New Light of God appeared over the face of the sun, confirming the Active Principles of Divine Law.” The event of confirmation that on this date is the purpose of the special commemoration each year.

The final paragraph of The Book of God’s Revelation describes that event:

And on the first day of August, it being the eighth Sunday following the giving of the Revelation at Pentecost on the sixth day of June, the New Light of God appeared over the face of the sun, confirming the Active Principle of Divine Law. And the whole congregation, gathered at sunrise, saw and felt the gift of the Spirit manifest out of the sun.

The Church has observed this date since 1982 in a variety of liturgical forms. At the Divine Service performed on August 1, 1987, a new composition titled “The New Light of Divine Law” was introduced to the liturgical music usually accompanying Divine Service. The piece commemorates the confirmation of the Active Principle of Divine Law.

The religious tradition and astronomical calendric attached to this date are significant. First Dispensation churches know August 1 as Lammas Day or the Day of the Loaf Mass. The date was celebrated by Christians in England, where the first bread of the harvest was taken to mass for blessing. The Christian feast has even earlier roots in the Celtic Lugnasaid, which hailed the beginning of the wheat harvest.

August 1 marks the beginning of the calendric period known as the “dog days.” The period is named for the Dog Star, Sirius. The span of time between late July and mid-August is an astronomical period when Sirius rises each morning with the sun. For the ancient Egyptians, August 1 was a calendric marking for the rising of the Nile and was celebrated by an important religious feast. This date also held significance for other ancient solar cultures.

The Sacred Calendar of the Second Advent Church also holds August 1 as a significant date. When counting from February 2, Second Advent New Year’s Day, the semiannual cycle, or 180-degree cycle of the earth around the sun, falls on August 1.

The Path of the Mystic

“We have then arrived at our description of the mechanism of the mystic. Possessed like other people of powers of feeling, thought, and will, it is essential that his love and his determination, even more than his thought, should be set upon Transcendent Reality. He [or She] must feel a strong emotional attraction toward the supersensual Object of his quest: that love which scholastic philosophy defined as the force or power which causes every creature to follow out the trend of its own nature. Of this must be born the will to attain communion with that Absolute Object. This will, this burning and active desire, must crystallize into and express itself by that definite and conscious concentration of the whole self upon the Object, which preseeds the contemplative state. We see already how far astray are those who look upon the mystical temperament as passive in type. …

“It appears, generally, from the experiences of the mystics, that their act of contemplation becomes a psychic gateway; a method of going from one level of consciousness to another. In technical language, it is the condition under which they shift their ‘field of perception’ and obtain their characteristic outlook on the universe. That there is such a characteristic outlook, peculiar to no race or creed, is proved by the history of mysticism.” ~Evelyn Underhill

Like Other People

Some people seem to think that mystics are either frauds or members of some race superior to ordinary humans. In actual fact, they are like other people in most ways, except for a burning desire to learn the universal truths hidden to the materialistic person. They have the same kinds of feelings, thoughts, and temptations as all of us, but at some point, they turn from the temptations and pleasures of the material world and concentrate on seeking something higher. As Underhill notes, love and determination put them on the right path and keep them on it.

Some people don’t like the term “mystic”. If you are one of them, then think “Spiritual Adept” instead. The terms mean the same thing, at least in the way that Ms. Underhill uses the word “mystic”.

The Object of the Quest

Underhill vaguely refers to what the mystic or spiritual student is seeking as the “supersensual Object of his quest.” First, we must remember that until a few decades ago, it was conventional to use masculine terms for things that could be masculine or feminine and mystics could be women. As to the object of the quest, you can call it Spiritual Enlightenment, the highest levels of consciousness, reaching Heaven, or oneness with God. Those terms all refer to the same quest and the same goal.

Becomes a Gateway

Ms. Underhill says that the “contemplation” practiced by the mystics becomes a “psychic gateway” that leads one to higher dimensions of consciousness. It is more accurate to call it a spiritual gateway since the goal is to go beyond the fourth dimension of the psychic realm, to the fifth dimension and higher. Again, she doesn’t say exactly what form this contemplation takes, possibly because she doesn’t know, but more likely, because she thought such information shouldn’t be shared with the uninitiated.

Shift Perception

The Spiritual Adept does shift their perception when practicing spiritual development techniques, and we now know that most of the ancient mystery schools used spiritual sungazing as at least one of those techniques. We know that the students of Pythagoras practiced their techniques while watching the sunrise. We know that the Essenes went to a mountaintop and practiced techniques at dawn. We know that St. Francis had his primary spiritual awakening while watching a sunrise from his bedroom window. We also know that the Spiritual and Mystical writer Jacob Boehme had his when the sun reflected off a shiny metal bowl he was carrying struck him in the eyes.

Of course, just looking at the sun isn’t enough. Some animals such as certain types of snakes look at the sun regularly, but they don’t become mystics. It has to be done properly and with the right attitude; an attitude of love, peace, and humility. Those who do it with the desire to gain the power to use to control others will not succeed in the quest. Instead, they will negate and be taken over by dark forces and beings. So practice the solar techniques, but do so with humility and love of God, and remember the Goal of the Quest.

Astronomers studying the formation of a distant star have discovered a cloud of water in space. The water, which is both regular water as we know it from Earth, as well as heavy water – water where one of the hydrogen atoms has been replaced by deuterium – could offer new insights into the origins of water in our solar system.

“Astronomers find the thinnest ever explosion in space – a cow 180 million light-years away”

Stars are basically spherical, and when they explode, the explosions are spherical too. Most of the time.

But an international team of astronomers has observed a disc-shaped explosion – the thinnest yet known to science.

The explosion is called a Fast Blue Optical Transient (FBOT): a rare event that astronomers have only known about for the past five years. They’re also called ‘cows’.

“Astronomers Just Found a Radio Galaxy That Turned Into a Blazar”

Astronomers have observed a rare case of a galaxy shapeshifting.

A few decades ago, an object located some 630 million light-years away named PBC J2333.9-2343 was classified as a giant radio galaxy. It projected large, radio-emitting structures perpendicular to our line of sight, formed by colossal jets that once erupted from the galactic center.

Reverend Patrick Newman Passes into the Light – Update

Patrick Manson Newman May 15, 1930 – June 20, 2023

Of Scottish descent, Patrick was born in Turtlehead, Saskatchewan, on May 15, 1930. He was an electrical engineer, graduating from the University of Alberta, Engineering School. Patrick then went to university in Manchester, England studying electronic engineering and earning another degree.

While in England, Patrick and his wife, Marie, made numerous trips to Scotland, which was both his and Marie’s ancestral home. He did a lot of hiking in the highlands. During those years, they also explored much of Europe.

After he graduated, Patrick got a job working in Iran. He and Marie were there for 3 years while Pat helped to install the electric grid in Iran. After leaving Iran, Pat went to work for the Canadian Broadcast Company. He and Marie lived in Montreal and then in Toronto until Pat retired. While in Toronto, they bought a sailboat. He and Marie were avid sailors and sailed along the Atlantic coast of Canada and New England. Pat’s other hobbies were Scottish Country Dancing and playing cards.

In December of 1975, Patrick first contacted the International Community of Christ/Cosolargy International with a book order, then enrolled in The Academy in March of 1976 while living in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. They later moved to Toronto, Ontario. By June 1976, Patrick became a member of the Order of Monk de Jure of the Rectory-Abbey, and in March, 1979, he entered The Academy’s First Clergy Program, continuing through Liturgy III.

Patrick and Marie attended The Community’s annual Convocations in Reno each year for nearly 40 years. He received Level I Ordination in 1988 and Level II Ordination in 1994, after which he was given Special Assignment as Deacon-Overseer of the Sanctuary attached to the Church of Prophecy of the New Covenant at the Red Rock Consecrated Sanctuary. In 2007, Patrick was ordained at Level III to Presbyter-Overseer of the Sanctuary.

In the summer of 1989, Patrick participated in an expedition into the jungles of Peru where he assisted Gene Savoy, Sr. and Gene Savoy, Jr. in exploring and documenting the expansive ancient city of Gran Vilaya, first discovered by Gene Savoy, Sr. four years earlier in 1985. He was awarded the “Participant’s Medal” for his work.

Patrick and Marie moved to Reno, Nevada from Rosedale Valley, Alberta in the spring of 1992 and resided in Reno for six months of the year until December of 1997.

Pat was a member of Ship’s Company beginning in 1976 and was soon to travel to Pascagoula, Mississippi to join the crew aboard the Feathered Serpent II, a Stay Sail Schooner of The Community, also referred to as The Ship of Light. On board, he served as Sailing Master and Engineer and helped to prepare the ship for its journey to the Hawaiian Islands.

In 1992, Patrick traveled to Cornwall, England with Gene Savoy, Sr. and Gene Savoy, Jr. to meet with James Wharram, a ship designer and builder. There they were able to secure the building plans for the construction of The Community’s third Ship of Light, the Feathered Serpent III-Ophir. Patrick, with Marie, spent nine months in Peru during 1997 overseeing the construction of the Feathered Serpent III.

Afterward, he and Marie returned to Rosedale Valley where they retired. Marie passed away in July 2013. We lost Patrick on June 20, 2023. They are missed.

His niece asked Bishop Savoy to provide a video that could be played at the service, and he did. Stephan Fuelling produced the video and RM Elizabeth Reece, RF Robert Petrovich, and RC Amanda Buchanan provided photos and other material.

The Sun, the Light, and the Solar Beings

“The creation of life by the sun is as continuous as his light; nothing arrests or limits it. Around him, like an army of satellites, are innumerable choirs of genii. These dwell in the neighborhood of immortals, and thence, watch over human things. They fulfill the Will of God (Karma) by means of storms, tempests, transitions or fire, and earthquakes; likewise by famines and wars. It is the sun who preserves and nourishes all creatures; and even as the ideal world which environs the sensible world fills this last with the plenitude and universal variety of forms, so also the Sun, enfolding all in his light, accomplishes everywhere the birth and development of creatures. Every star has its genii, good and evil by nature, or rather by their operation, for operation is the essence of genii. All these genii preside over muindane affairs. They shake and overthrow the constitution of states and individuals; they imprint their likeness on our souls. At the moment when each of us receives [physical] life, he is taken in charge by the genii (Elementals) who preside over birth. … But the reasoning part of the Soul is not subjected to the genii.” ~H. P. Blavatsky

Life from the Sun

While it is true in a larger sense that life in the material world was created by the Demiurge, the false god, it is a hierarchal system and the energy that creates physical life on earth comes from the sun.

As for life within the sun, we believe that is true as did the ancients that Blavatsky is quoting. While they called them genii, we call them Beings of Light and Beings of Darkness.

Karma and the Will of God

I don’t generally think of Karma as “the Will of God,” but since it is a universal and inescapable law, I guess it is part of the Will of God. Where the quoted text does this law an injustice, though, is that it makes it seem like Karma is a purely negative thing, and a punishment for doing wrong. Neither of those ideas is true. Karma isn’t a punishment any more than any case of action and reaction, which is also a law of science. And there is just as much good karma as there is bad. Also, Karma is more common on the individual level than on the group level, and it is only at the group level that it can cause storms, earthquakes, and the other disasters mentioned.

Solar Beings

There are beings in the sun, beings of higher dimensions. There are beings of the fourth dimension called demons or dark beings, and beings of the fifth dimension called Light Beings or Angels. When we practice Solar Techniques, we will, at times, contact such beings and they will influence us. That is why it is important to have the right attitude when we look at the sun. If we are angry or full of negative thoughts and emotions, we will be contacting the dark beings. If we are peaceful and loving, and approach the sun in humility, we will be contacting the Light Beings and the higher frequencies of Light and Consciousness. Doing so awakens our own dormant spiritual faculties and helps us raise our own level of consciousness.

Every Star Has Its “Genii”

Our sun is not the only star that is changing now, in the End Times. All Stars are changing. And all stars probably have living beings in them. But as the sun is far closer to us than any other star, we should concentrate on doing techniques with the Sun, and not try to do them at night on other stars.

Not only stars. But everything in the physical universe is changing and slowly moving back to its original form as spirit. We must change with it or be left behind.

“Scientists find dark matter “bridges” that may reveal future of our galaxy”

A new map derived with the help of artificial intelligence reveals previously unknown “bridges” linking galaxies in the local universe. The bridges are in the form of filamentary structures. The scientists hope their map, published along with their paper in the Astrophysical Journal, can provide fresh insights into dark matter and the history of our universe.

While dark matter is an accepted notion, thought to make up 80 percent of all the matter in the universe, it has been hard to find. Scientists have, however, inferred much about the existence and behavior of dark matter by observing its gravitational influence on other space objects.

“Object mistaken as a galaxy is actually a black hole pointed directly at Earth”

In a distant galaxy, a supermassive black hole spewing radiation at near light speed has shifted its angle by a whopping 90 degrees to point directly toward Earth — a sharp turn that’s puzzling physicists.

Active galactic nuclei (AGN) are the hungry black holes at the cores of many other galaxies, and they accrete matter and spew powerful jets of high-energy particles known as relativistic jets. AGN are classified according to what part of the AGN is pointed toward Earth.
