Two black holes have collided in a merger that could revolutionize our understanding of black hole growth.
Named GW 231123 after the date it was recorded on 23 November 2023, it’s the most massive black hole collision we’ve seen yet, resulting in an object heavier than 225 Suns.
Previously, the most massive black hole collision produced an object 142 times the mass of the Sun.
One of the greatest mysteries facing scientists today is the Hubble tension: the fact that our different methods of measuring the universe’s expansion produce different results. And a study announced today has an intriguing answer.
The research says that Earth might be located inside a billion-light-year-wide void of low density, encompassing many millions of galaxies. If so, the gravity of the higher-density regions around this void would pull matter outward. And that means space would appear to be expanding faster in our local area.
Scientists are constantly finding new ways to look at things, and that’s especially true for objects that represent an outlier of their specific type. Adjectives like “biggest”, “brightest”, or “fastest spinning” all seem to attract scientific studies – perhaps because they’re an easier sell to funding agencies. No matter the reason, that means we typically get a lot of good science on specific objects that represent their particular class of objects well, and a new paper from Ozcan Caliskan from Istanbul University in Turkey hits that nail on the head when it comes to the most massive known white dwarf star.

“It was the wife of Pharaoh who influenced him to disclose some of the mysteries, which, since the time just mentioned, had been completely withdrawn and very carefully hidden. Thus, though the forces of evil had prevailed in the land they had not uncovered the Inner Shrine of the Sacred Mysteries. Such mysteries as they had discovered proved of little value to them and were soon so distorted and perverted as to be useless. The great secret of how to penetrate the barrier between the two spheres of mortal and spirit was still completely secured. If nothing else, its very dangers would
have safeguarded it.

All that did happen was that Pharaoh used the knowledge he had to try and give the people a greater insight into the way of light, the True Way. As is ever done, he veiled the all-consuming brilliance of Truth. leaving just sufficient glimmer to light the way, to become a beacon. Nabihaton, himself saw the Truth but dimly, for though he tried, he failed to meet the tests of an Enlightened One. Perhaps it was this that inclined him away from the faithful. How many, when they discover what the knowledge of Truth entails, falter on the path?”

The fact that Pharaoh’s wife influenced him to reveal some of the spiritual secrets that he had learned from the mystery schools indicates that she was probably initiated into some of those mysteries herself. If not, then it is likely that the pharaoh had revealed some to her. This does show, as the quote says, that the Great Knowledge of Spiritual development was withdrawn from the people and hidden, as it remained until quite recently.
The Forces of Evil are those who practice materialism and consider it superior to spirituality. The demons and devils know better, but when they whisper into the ears of men and women, they lie to promote the material realm where they maintain some limited control over people. They also tried to uncover the Sacred Mysteries, but only succeeded in learning the most limited teachings, such as chanting and meditation, which are useful, but do not awaken and develop the Soul.
The barrier between the spheres of matter and spirit is a real thing. It is sometimes called a veil, or veils, and the original story of the Phoenix had that bird flying up over the sun each morning, and spreading its wings to block out certain frequencies of light. The good news is that the barriers are being lifted in this age so that more can awaken to their spiritual Self, and the need to develop it.
The Pharaoh did not reveal the mysteries to the general population, but he did give them enough information to encourage them to seek the Way of Light, the True way. Today, we can reveal that the Way to the True Light is in a Spiritual form of sun-gazing, where one looks primarily at the Spiritual Sun rather than the physical one (never stare directly at the sun). You do have to be a student of a legitimate Spiritual School, such as Cosolargy, to know how to do that correctly. You also need to have the proper attitude of love and humility.
For the first time, astronomers have obtained an image of a star that met its end by detonating twice. Scientists used the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) to image the centuries-old remains of supernova SNR 0509-67.5. They announced today (July 2, 2025) that they’ve found patterns confirming its star suffered not one but two explosive blasts. This discovery shows some of the most important explosions in the universe in a new light, the scientists said.
Pictures of the International Space Station as it passes in front of the Sun or Moon are a bit of a feather in the cap of space photographers – but Arizona-based astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy bagged a real prize.
When he headed out to the Sonoran Desert and set up his equipment to attempt to capture an ISS transit, he was surprised by a medium-sized solar flare in the background. The resulting image captured not just the space station as it whisked past the surface of the Sun, but the transient appearance of a solar eruption.
