“Giant ‘Space Tornadoes’ Discovered Raging in Milky Way’s Turbulent Heart”

In the absolute omnishambles of the Milky Way galactic center, we’ve just found a new kind of turbulent structure.

Peering into the Central Molecular Zone (CMZ) that surrounds the galactic supermassive black hole, astronomers have identified long, thin filaments of gas, near outflows of material. Filaments have been identified around the galactic center previously, but these new ones are unlike any other filaments ever seen

SPECIAL MESSAGE: April 11, 2025

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

April 11, 2025

Remembrance of the 40-day Vigil (1981)

Dear Harold,

I hope this letter finds you healthy, well and blessed. I can’t believe it’s been more than four years since I’ve communicated with you in this way. That was for our successful project to repair, renovate and save the Cathedral Church of the Americas at the Red Rock Consecrated Sanctuary from its serious state of deterioration. You should be proud of the fact that between 2019 and 2021, we raised $70,000 for the extensive repairs. Because of your dedication and the dedication of your fellow Brothers and Sisters in The Community, the Cathedral and Monument to Human Spiritual Rights stands strong today and will continue to be a beacon at the Sanctuary for many decades to come.

Over the past few years since the Cathedral Church renovations were completed, we have been busy with several other capital projects. They include a wonderful makeover in late 2021 of the guest apartment in the Chapter House at the Sanctuary, which members of The Community love to use and do so regularly when they visit us. This was a worthwhile investment of about $10,000, which we promised to do after the passing into the Light of our beloved Reverend Mother Carol Ann Crabb; and it has turned out to be a very positive addition to the Sanctuary.

In the Fall of 2023, the old roof at Steamboat Hot Springs was completely replaced with a brand new one to the tune of just under $103,000. (The Winter of 2022/2023 was so extreme, the old roof was leaking like a sieve.) And this year, also at the hot springs, we are renovating a new events space which will be used for both public and private functions. However, the largest projects over the past three years (2022 – 2024) have been at the Rectory-Abbey and the Rectory-Abbey East Wing. Major improvements included an entire exterior reconstruction of the East Wing, including tear down and rebuilding of both the east and west sunrooms – quite an undertaking! In addition, the main kitchen of the Rectory-Abbey, which has served The Community so well over the past 50 years for so many auspicious and happy events, underwent a complete remodel, as well. The investment at these two important Church properties was $440,000.

As you can see, we have been making significant investments to our buildings and facilities. However, it is important for me to emphasize to you that all of these major projects and improvements were able to be made due to the very generous donations of only three individual persons – one, an outside donor; the other, a patron of the hot springs; and finally, one of the Church’s very important guilds. Without this support, these endeavors would have been much harder to accomplish and may not have been able to be realized at all at this time. We certainly are grateful to them.

The next phase of improvement and investment is the Chancellery and Chapel of the Holy Child. Over the past several years, multiple repairs have been made to the Chapel roof, including the replacement of several skylights. This has cost us in the neighborhood of $18,000. Last year, we purchased and installed a new air conditioning unit for the Chapel; and this Winter, we were forced to replace the old furnace for the main Chancellery offices. These two items cost approximately $16,000. You also may remember that in 2020, we experienced a major plumbing issue that affected the entire 1940s era building costing about $20,000. As these show, upkeep on aging buildings is a major task.

Now I need to ask for your help as our funding sources have been exhausted. The Community purchased the Chancellery building in 1979. That was the last time upgrades were made to the ladies’ and men’s restrooms – 46 years ago! It’s definitely time to remodel these two facilities, especially the ladies’ room. It is also important to make one of them ADA compliant (handicapped accessible). Additionally, we also need to repair the concrete steps at the front of the building which date from the 1960s. These three renovations – the two restrooms and the front steps – will cost about $50,000. And that’s what we need to raise. (A fourth renovation to the upstairs kitchen will have to wait.) I am enclosing a photo sheet, so you can see the need to remodel the areas I’ve

mentioned.

Once again, I am asking everyone in The Community to make a pledge towards this project. On the enclosed pledge form, you will see several ways to spread your contribution out over time – even over 18 months if necessary. I am personally asking you to make as generous a contribution as you can. If you will do that, I am confident we will be able to meet our goal. (Work on the front steps has already been completed.) Please remember that the Chancellery and the Chapel of the Holy Child are the public face of our Church Community in downtown Reno, and that our beautiful Chapel conveys something very special and unique to all who visit it, including blessings.

If I may answer any questions or concerns of yours, or if you’d like to personally discuss your pledge or these improvements to the Chancellery with me directly, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I thank you always for your support, and I look forward to completing these meaningful improvements this year with your help. They will make a wonderful addition in time for next year’s Community Convocation.

Origins of Light and Darkness

“There is no boundary for light. It was unknown when it began. Nothing was when light was not. Nothing was when radiance was not. Nothing was when life was not. There was never a boundary for light. Nothing was when water was not.

“Water is prior to darkness. Prior to darkness is water. Nothing is without an end. No number is before the uthras were. Light beings are prior to darkness. Prior to darkness are uthras and older than their inhabitants. Goodness is prior to the malice of the place of darkness. Gentleness is prior to the bitterness of the place of darkness. Living fire is prior to the consuming fires of the place of darkness. Praise is prior to the practice of sorcery and witchcraft. Hymns and books are prior to the sorcery of Hewath, the terrible woman.

“Darkness can’t be measured by light. The house of gloom isn’t lighted. The house of gloom isn’t lighted, and turbid waters have no sparkle. Darkness grew and creatures formed. Darkness formed, and when it formed it tested its force. It harbored malice in its mind. It imprisoned its own kanna, the place of the soul. It imprisoned its own kanna, and everything it did was nothing. The children of darkness are nothing, but the children of life stay. The house of evil is nothing, and its consuming fires die. Its sorcery dies and ends, since it has no place in eternity. It comes to nothing. The generations of life stay forever. The living instruction rises and illuminates a perishable living place.”

-The Ginza

No Boundary for Light

We know that there are boundaries for some types of physical light, so it should be obvious that what the Ginza is talking about is Spiritual Light. The traditional Bible has God creating Light before anything else, but that still gives people the idea that there was a time when the Light didn’t exist. That idea is false simply because everything that is purely spiritual exists outside of the limits of time and space, so it has no beginning and no end, no boundaries of any kind. And as the quote says, nothing existed before Light.

Nothing Before Life

The statement that nothing existed before Life means spiritual life. Spiritual Life, like Spiritual Light, exists outside of the limitations of space and time. But this means more than that. It tells us that Life is everywhere and everything is alive. Perhaps not in the physical sense, yet all things are alive on the spiritual level. Native Americans understood this and said all things have a spirit, even rocks, mountains, and rivers. Since a spirit is always alive, that means those things are alive as well.

Water Before Darkness

Since Darkness refers to the fallen realm of matter, this also cannot refer to physical water. It means the Word of God, which “flows” from the Godhead like water to enlighten those who attune themselves to it.

Nothing is Without an End

This one can be confusing because of the sudden shift. All of the previous lines of the quote talk about spiritual things. In this case, it means physical things. All physical things come to an end. Some will argue that they don’t come to an end; they just change form, but for the form that was, an end has happened.

No Number Before the Uthras

An odd way to word it, but what this is saying is that there were no beings existing before the high-level Spiritual Beings that are here called Uthras, but we would call them Angels or beings of Light. Since the physical realm was an offshoot of the spiritual realm, physical beings, which is what I think was meant by “no number,” could not have existed before spiritual beings.

Goodness Prior to Darkness

Since Spirit came before matter, goodness existed before Darkness. This doesn’t mean the kind of darkness you get when you turn out the lights in a room. The Darkness means the realm of the fallen angels, also called the Demiurge. Since that realm of matter was “created” by changing Spirit into something else, Spirit had to exist first, and true Goodness is found only in Spirit.

House of Gloom

This is obviously a reference to the lower dimension generally called Hell. There is no Spiritual Light in that lower dimension, so if one wishes to turn away from Hell and head toward Heaven, it must be done while still living physically in the third dimension where it is still possible to access the Spiritual Light from God, especially now that we have the Sun of Righteousness shining down on us.

“A ‘Star Grinder’ Swarm of Black Holes Could Lurk in Our Galaxy’s Dusty Core”

black holes merging

There is a supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy. There is also a lot of other stuff there as well. Young stars, gas, dust, and stellar-mass black holes. It’s a happening place.

It is also surrounded by a veil of interstellar gas and dust, which means we can’t observe the region in visible light. We can observe stars in the region through infrared and radio, and some of the gas there emits radio light, but the stellar-mass black holes remain mostly a mystery.

“’Little Red Dots’ in Early Universe Might Be Black Holes Running at Maximum”

The James Webb Space Telescope has given us a view of the earliest moments of galaxy formation in the Universe.

It also revealed a few surprises. One of these is the appearance of small, highly redshifted objects nicknamed “little red dots (LRDs).”

We aren’t entirely sure what they are, but a new study points to an answer.

“A terrifying fate may lurk inside the Milky Way”

All good things come to an end—even the Milky Way. Our home galaxy’s demise isn’t estimated to occur for at least another 4 or 5 billion years, when astronomers believe it will start colliding with its neighbor Andromeda. However, a new analysis of a more distant galaxy is hinting at another dramatic outcome. Instead of being annihilated from without, the Milky Way’s cosmic destruction could begin from within.
