Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered by the Officiant of the Communion Service (that is, Bishop Gene Savoy, or occasionally in his stead, Bishop Sean Savoy) just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

A Reading from the Book of God’s Revelation, “The Seal of God’s New Law” (pp.145-148):
Before the final Restoration, the world is to be purified by the bright rays of the sun. The races will be cleansed by the fire of the Holy Spirit for a healing and a blessing of Soul. And God shall speak to them out of the Light and they will see His Image. And that race that endures will bathe in God’s Light and live on the Divine Presence as did the Creation before the generation of Darkness – the sun and stars and the worlds of matter – and it will share in the New Act of Creation.
And The Voice spoke to The Man’s Soul saying, “The Image and The Word from Heaven establishes on earth a New Religion free from any human control lest it be corrupted.
“This Religion shall not be subject to any written law, nor to any priest, minister, prophet, or counsellor; nor to any court of civil law, secular authority, or ecclesiastical jurisdiction; nor to any existing written canon law or scriptural text; nor to any lay person, academic, or scholar of learned institution.
“God wills that this Religion be subject only to The Word spoken out of the Creator’s Light in The Image of the Sun of Righteousness.
“This Religion is constituted of the Ordained bound together under oath to the theocratic Community’s own laws written in Heaven and revealed by God.
“And let the Ordained New Covenanters go forth as Messengers of God, spreading the Teachings over the face of the earth.
“And let the Ordained read the Books to the peoples at those places consecrated to God. And all who hear, together with the land and the peoples, shall be blessed of God.
“And should any nation forbid the reading by God’s Messengers, or by exercising its authority suppress the freedom of the people to hear the Messengers, let that nation come under the strong and just rays of God’s Sun of Judgement which is intolerant of all secular and ecclesiastical authorities who violate the Spiritual Rights of humans decreed from Heaven.
“The appearance of The Image and Word incarnate in the sun, summons all nations and governments to recognize the immutability of God as Sovereign over the Creation and acknowledge His Sacred Right to enter into human affairs and regulate those natural laws that govern all life.
“Divine Law is omnipresent, omniscient, absolute, and unalterable in the First Cause of effect over the human mind and spirit.
“The Supreme Judicator of all life administers Justice from the seat of the sun and issues an edict to the Ordained of The Church of the Second Advent: To inform every human being of that Holy Writ revealed by God so that all nations and peoples may live in accordance with Supernatural Law in the final struggle between the Powers of Light and Darkness.
“The nations and governments of the world are under a sacred mandate to receive the Ordained who minister unto the people, blessing the land and mellowing the rays of the sun; for the peoples of the earth are too sick and unclean to be healed by God’s Sun of Righteousness if they not live The Way revealed.”
“Places also exercise an important influence in occult operation; some spots upon the earth’s surface are naturally highly magnetic. These have usually been discovered of old time by the ancients and their possibilities developed, and according to the type of development employed will be their influence at the present day. There is a very great difference between a place which has been used for evocatory rites involving blood-sacrifice.
“Occultists having the necessary knowledge avail themselves, as far as they can, of places with magnetism already developed; but failing this, they magnetize a place for themselves, but it takes considerable time and work to do this.” ~Dion Fortune
Substitute spiritual for occult, and this quote remains essentially true. While it is debatable that magnetism is the key factor, there are places that are good, great, and not good for spiritual activities. Unfortunately, it is impractical for most of us to travel all over the country or the world seeking spots of good energy to practice our spiritual techniques, and the results may actually be disappointing. When a group of Cosolargists visited Israel some years ago, they found that whatever positive energies once were there are long gone. On the other hand, we were surprised to find on our 2009 trip to Greece that the sun was quite mellow in Athens, which is very unusual for an urban area. Also, as Ms Fortune points out, strong energy or magnetic forces in a place isn’t necessarily a good thing. Those energies may be very negative or of low frequencies that harm rather than aid spiritual growth.
In some cases these energy vortexes formed naturally, but most often are the result of spiritual people, especially highly developed ones, conducting spiritual activities there over a long period of time. But again, it isn’t really necessary to travel to such places. In most cases, you can find a place of reasonably positive and high-frequency energy close to home. The basic rules are:
The main idea is to find a place where higher frequency energies are found, or can grow. If that isn’t possible, at least try to avoid a place that is probably full of negative or very materialistic energies such as Wall Street or a prison yard. If you can’t go to such areas every day, try to do it at least a few times a month.
And last but not least, when you practice spiritual techniques with others, the positive energies of the group can help raise the energy of the location.

Reno resident Tom Fee sent in a brief testimonial of his experiences with the Church. We thought we would share it with you. Here it is:
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I am a 71 year resident of the Reno-Sparks area and served this area for 37 years as a special education teacher, a special education administrator, and as a school psychologist.
I’ve been interested in Religion and The Spirit since my discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1959 at the age of 20. I’ve attended services of a variety of groups, including The First Church of Religious Science, now known as The Center for Spiritual Living. In fact I was a member from 1977 to early 2008. I’ve also attended Unity Services, off and on , for a number of my younger years. These churches are somewhat philosophical and believe in the power of the mind and the power of thought. There is rare mention of Jesus Christ or the Spirit of God. They are not God centered or spirit centered, in my mind, although they have a wonderful philosophy of using affirmation, clear thought, and positive thinking to better themselves personally and financially. Yet God and Spirit does not seem to play a part in it.
As a psychologist, I do a great deal of observation. In my association with the International Community of Christ, I’ve noticed a heavy and consistent emphasis in their services on God, the Christ, the Christ Spirit, the Christ Light, and the Light. I’ve never experienced any other church with a greater emphasis on God, Christ, Spirit, and The Light.

A Reading from the Writings of Isaiah:
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: they sons shall come from afar, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of th sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the nations shall come unto thee.

Posted on YouTube are four 10-minute excerpts from the 2001 documentary made on the Andean Explorers expedition to Peru that year. (Gene Savoy Sr. was 74 years old at the time.) The four-part series presents the entire television documentary. The documentary was originally made by the German film group ZDF for Discovery International. This YouTube posting credits neither the film makers nor the producers.
The original documentary was translated into several languages, including French. This series of four YouTube postings is in French and titled “Gene Savoy, le veritable Indiana Jones.”
