To better address the spiritual needs of patients in the region, Nevada Clergy Association, a not-for-profit interfaith network of religious and spiritual leaders, has partnered with Renown Health, the community’s only locally owned, not-for-profit health network, to bring a more comprehensive spiritual care program to northern Nevada.

The current Chapel at Renown Regional Medical Center was dedicated to Henry Kahl 50 years ago. Since then, it has received basic updates, but a transformational renovation and expansion would better suit the needs of the diverse, growing community.

The vision for the Spiritual Center includes creating a resource center and multi-use space that will fully embrace all faith practices and the diversity of patients, their loved ones, and caregivers.

The Interfaith Spiritual Center will also provide Renown Health caregivers the opportunity to receive additional culture-specific training for religious and spiritual best practices, including how to offer palliative and hospice care. In addition to holding formal services, classes and events, the Interfaith Spiritual Center will offer a resource center, equipped with online access to a network of clergy, religious and spiritual leaders, and a library of inspirational materials used in spiritual counseling.

Renown’s chaplains will have an improved structure in place to reach out to interfaith leaders, including a larger network of volunteer chaplains, to continue to fulfill the healing needs of all patients.

Headquartered in Reno, the Nevada Clergy Association’s purpose is to foster and promote interfaith relations and encourage the sharing of information among its members and promote a climate favorable to and respectful of religious and spiritual expression and freedom.

By working side-by-side with the Nevada Clergy Association to create the Interfaith Spiritual Center, Renown can offer patients in the region better access to more comprehensive spiritual care programs.

The International Community of Christ’s Chapel of the Roses at Steamboat Hot Springs was re-dedicated Friday, July 10, 2015 at 12 noon.

Initially dedicated in 2005, the chapel underwent significant remodeling this year. It is now available to the public for weddings, baptisms and other services and events.

Guests may take advantage of the many spa amenities offered at historic Steamboat Hot Springs, including mineral baths, massage and energy therapies. An indoor reception hall with outdoor lawn is also available for parties of up to 40 people.

There are many sacred triads including the well known Christian one of three Gods in one. The quoted passage is about another one that is of great importance to us: the triad of the sun or Light. This triad consists of the physical sun, the spiritual sun, and us because we are greatly affected by the sun.

Science completely agrees on the importance of the physical sun to life on Earth, but go no further than that. Like the foolish ship’s captain who sees only a small part of the iceberg sticking out of the water and refuses to believe that there is even more of it hidden below the surface, the scientist can’t accept anything his material tools can’t measure as real, so he simply ignores them.

“The forces of the material universe need to maintain a balance or the whole thing may fall apart like a house of cards caught in a sudden gust of wind. But maintaining the equilibrium continuously is a difficult, and possibly impossible, job. Things do get out of balance in areas and may seem to say that way fro quite a while to us humans, but to Nature, correcting such difficulties in twenty, thirty, even fifty years is like the blink of an eye. It may seem to us that things are regularly out of balance, but such imbalances do get corrected over time.”

Reverend Amanda Buchanan officiated the first wedding ceremony to be held at the Chapel of the Roses at Steamboat, Nevada since the chapel was renovated early in June 2015.

The inaugural wedding of Celine Cinq and Jerome Fisk was held June 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Roses with 35 people in attendance. Reverend Canon Gary Buchanan provided music during the event on the new piano donated to the chapel by Stephan Fuelling.

Photographs and write-ups of the event will be used on social media to promote the use of the chapel and the separate garden meeting room for weddings and wedding receptions up to 40 people. Weather permitting, larger weddings will be arranged on premises out of doors in the garden.

Rev. Amanda Buchanan will coordinate with future prospective couples to arrange dates and times and to meet special needs of wedding parties. Set-up for receptions will be provided by the Steamboat Spa & Healing Center, working with spa director John Curry.

If you have the dream to make a meaningful visit to mystical India, an amazing opportunity is available. But it is still in the very early planning stages. In fact, the trip cannot be scheduled until there is enough interest from people to participate.

So if you are interested, send an email to info@cosolargy.org right away. The decision to finalize the India journey must be made by August 31.

Costs and itinerary will be developed once interest is shown. But typically, expenses in India are minimal compared to many other countries. Even flights to India are reasonable.

10 to 20 people need to join the tour group for the journey to be guaranteed to take place. Tour members do not need to be members of The Community, so feel free to send a copy of the flyer to your personal mailing list.
