“Location is Important In Spiritual Practices”

HomAvenir

“Something may here be said concerning the environment in which this [spiritual] training should be undertaken, for this is not without some importance. … Anyone practicing in an environment filled only with self-seeking interests, as for example, the modern struggle for existence, must be conscious of the fact that these interests are not without their effect on the development of his spiritual organs. It is true that the inner laws of these organs are so powerful that this influence cannot be fatally injurious. Just as a lily can never grow into a thistle, however inappropriate its environment, so, too, the eye of the soul can never grow to anything but its destined shape … .
“Especially fortunate is the student who can carry out his esoteric training surrounded by the green world of plants, or among the sunny hills, where nature weaves her web of sweet simplicity. This environment develops the inner organs in a harmony which can never ensue in a modern city.” ~Rudolf Steiner

Location, Location, Location

“The environment in which we practice spiritual development techniques is important. The reason ancient holy people like the Essenes went to mountain tops or open fields to do their practices was not just to avoid being seen, but also to get away from the materialistic thought vibrations found in the crowded cities and towns. We did find an interesting exception to the idea that cities are bad places to conduct spiritual techniques. A few years ago a group of us took a trip to Greece where we visited many ancient religious and spiritual sites, but we also spent several nights in the crowded and bustling city of Athens. In the morning, we would go to the rooftop patio to do a few minutes of spiritual sun gazing (gazing at the spiritual sun, not the material one) before breakfast at the hotel restaurant, which was also on top of the hotel. In most big cities, the sun feels harsh when you do this, but it was surprisingly mellow in Athens.”

A daughter was born to Australian Consociate Greg Wilson and his wife Sari on May 11, 2016. The news came in an email from Greg to Robert Petrovich:

“Sari and I have wonderful news, mate………We’ve just had our baby girl the night before last!!!! She’s 9 pounds in weight, 22 inches long and fit as a fiddle! She’s bloody GORGEOUS in fact! Take a look……we’re all attached above! And guess what?….. She was born on the same day as the late Gene Savoy!……..only about 90 years post.

“Our Beauty’s name is Freeda Peppi Wilson. Freeda means ‘Beloved Beauty’ in Nordic, spelt Freida, and in German Freeda means ‘Peaceful Ruler’.

“So there ya have it……she’s destined for great things, mate!”

May 28, 2016: Chapel Readings

2016-PUL-2016-05-28.GeneSavoyJr

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered by the Officiant of the Communion Service (that is, Bishop Gene Savoy, or occasionally in his stead, Bishop Sean Savoy) just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Book of God’s Revelation, “The Opening of the Seven Seals” (pp.92-94):

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Eleventh Ode of Solomon:

My heart was opened and its flower appeared; and grace sprang up in it; and it brought forth fruit to the Lord,

2 For the Most High opened my hear by His Holy Spirit and searched my affection toward Him: and filled me with His love.

3 And His opening of me became my salvation; and I ran in His way, in His peace, even in the way of truth:

4 From the beginning and even to the end I acquired His knowledge:

5 And I was established upon the rock of truth, where He had set me up:

6 And speaking waters touched my lips from the fountain of the Lord plenteously:

7 And I drank and was inebriated with the living water that does not die;

8 And my inebriation was not one of ignorance, but I forsook vanity and turned to the Most High my God,

9 And I was enriched by His bounty, and I let go the folly which is diffused over the earth; and I stripped it off and cast it from me:

10 And the Lord renewed me in His own garment, and possessed me by His light, and from above He gave me rest in incorruption;

11 And I became like the land which blossoms and rejoices in its fruit:

12 And the Lord was like the sun shining on the face of the land;

13 He lightened my eyes, and my face received the dew; and my nostrils enjoyed the pleasant odor of the Lord;

14 And he carried me to His Paradise; where is the abundance of the pleasure of the Lord;

15 And I worshiped the Lord on account of His glory; and I said, Blessed, O Lord, are they who are planted in thy land! And those who have a place in thy Paradise;

16 And they grow by the fruits of the trees. And they have changed from darkness to light.

“Rise Up the Ladder of Spirit”

2016-REP-Transformation1

“In the degree that Man realizes the existence of the Indwelling Spirit immanent within his being, so will he rise in the spiritual scale of life. This is what spiritual development means—the recognition, realization, and manifestation of the Spirit within us. Try to remember this last definition—that of spiritual development. It contains the Truth of True Religion. … There are many planes of being … and all depend upon the advancement of beings in the scale, of which scale the lowest point is the grossest matter, the highest being separated only by the thinnest division from the SPIRIT of THE ALL.” ~The Three Initiates

“There are a lot of people calling themselves spiritual these days, and a lot of schools claiming to teach spirituality or spiritual development. There seems to be considerable difference, however, in what different people and different schools call spiritual.”

Bishop Gene to be in Mexico at Summer Solstice

STOCK-SPM-Missions-logo

Bishop Gene will be in Los Barriles during this year’s Summer Solstice, which falls on Monday, June 20, 2016. He will be traveling from June 19 to June 25 on an information-gathering and fact-finding mission for The Community’s planned project for a retreat, conference center, and hot springs facility. Accompanying Gene is John Curry, The Community’s executive director of the Steamboat Healing Center and Spa.

In this formative stage in the project process, they will be meeting with real estate agents, geothermal experts, engineers, well drillers, building contractors and architects, government officials, accountants and banks, in addition to consulting with the Church’s attorney.

The Community’s corporation, Cosolargy International, has now been formed in Mexico. It allows for religious gatherings and assemblies, the establishment of the Jamilian University and the Cosolargy Acadmey, the dissemination of educational and other material in every media format, the formation of health and wellness facilities, and the ability to have sub-corporations and engage in agreements with second parties. The corporation has the right to conduct its operations anywhere in Mexico.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Book of God’s Revelation, “The Opening of the Seven Seals” (pp. 81-88).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Book of Enoch:

On the Great Day the Holy Great One will come forth from His dwelling,
And the eternal God will tread upon the earth . . . and appear in the strength of His might from the heaven of heavens.
And the Watchers shall quake,
And great fear and trembling shall seize them unto the ends of the earth.
And the high mountains shall be shaken,
And the high hills shall be made low,
And shall melt like wax before the flame
And the earth shall be wholly rent in two,
And all that is upon the earth shall perish,
And there shall be a judgment upon all.
But with the righteous He will make peace.
And will protect the elect,
And mercy shall be upon them.
And they shall all belong to God,
And they shall be prospered,
And they shall all be blessed.
And He will help them all,
And light shall appear unto them,
And He will make peace with them.

“A Place Beyond Place and a Light Beyond Light”

Das Feuer Ritual - Burning awakening

“’In a place beyond uttermost place,
in a track without shadow of trace,
Soul and body transcending,
I live in the soul of my Loved One anew.’
Thus cries the great Sufi poet, Jalalu’ddin; and the suggestion which his words convey is perhaps as close as speech can come to what Ruysbroeck meant byOnwise. The change of consciousness which initiates man into this inner yet unbounded world—the world that is ‘unwalled,’ to use his own favorite metaphor—is the essence of contemplation; which consists, not in looking at strange mysteries, but in movement to fresh levels, shut to the analytic intellect, …
‘It has no attributes,
And here all the works of reason fail,
It is not God,
But it is the Light whereby we see Him.’” ~Evelyn Underhill & Ruysbroeck

“It is indeed difficult to describe spiritual things using languages designed to describe the very different physical world. This is one reason why all great spiritual teachers say such things must be experienced, not just taught.

“What the great poet meant by a place beyond place is an example of this.”
