“Three Levels of Mind in Man”

Aura, human energybody, chakra, energy

“Next in order, above the Instinctive mind, is what we have called the Intellect, that part of the mind that does our reasoning, analyzing; ‘thinking,’ etc. You are using it in the consideration of this lesson. But note this: You are using it, but it is not You, any more than was the Instinctive Mind. …
“The third, and highest, Mental Principle is what is called the Spiritual Mind, that part of the mind which is almost unknown to many of the race, but which has developed into consciousness with nearly all who read this. … All the great thoughts and idea float into the field of consciousness from this part of the mind. All the great unfoldment of the race comes from there. … His [mans] knowledge of the great occult truths reach him through this channel.” ~William Walker Atkinson

Three Mind and Thought Levels

“Mr. Atkinson doesn’t specifically connect these three levels of the mind with the brain, but he seems to imply it. In that, we in Cosolargy disagree with him. The Instinctive  and the Intellect are together what I call the brain-mind to show the relationship, but the spiritual mind is part of the spirit, that part we call the soul. And it is not surprising that it is unrecognized and unused in most people because it is dormant when we come into the physical world, and must be awakened to be used.”

July 9, 2016: Chapel Readings

2016-PUL-2016-03-12.Gene_Savoy_Jr

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered by the Officiant of the Communion Service (that is, Bishop Gene Savoy, or occasionally in his stead, Bishop Sean Savoy) just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Book of God’s Revelation, “The Seal of God’s New Law” (pp. 137-144)

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Prophet Isaiah:

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

And the nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee . . .

Then thou shalt see, and be radiant together, and thine heart shall be awed, and be expanded; because the multitudes of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the Nations shall come unto thee . . . and they shall show forth the praises of the Lord. . . .

Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night that men may bring unto thee the wealth of the Nations, and that their kings may be brought to you. For the nation and king that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. . . . I will make thy officers peace, and thy ministers righteousness.

The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

“Man Has a Spiritual Link That He Can’t Afford to Ignore”

Stairway to Heaven's gate.

“If man were all of one piece—I mean, if he were nothing more than a mere thing, acting and acted upon according to a fixed nature—he could be no more subject to reproach and punishment than the mere animals. But as the scheme hold, man is singles out for condemnation when he does evil; and this with justice. … For he is no mere thing. …
“This does not, however, outside the Providence of the Reason of the All; the Over-World cannot be dependent upon the World of Sense. The higher shines down upon the lower, and this illumination is Providence in the highest aspect: The Reason-Principle has two phases, one which creates the things of process and another which links them with the higher beings. … “Men possess, then, a distinctive Principle: but not all men turn to account all that is in their nature; …” ~Plotinus

Man is Different

“We do not consider an animal evil when it kills other animals to survive. Even when it kill a human, we generally don’t think of it as evil or needing punishment, though we probably hunt down and kill it for our own protection, not to punish it. Likewise, when a person eats a poisonous plant and dies, we do not blame the plant, for the plant did not choose to be poisonous or to be eaten. Man is, on the other hand, held responsible for his action, on both the material and spiritual levels. Man has a spiritual link.”

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Book of God’s Revelation, “The Seal of God’s New Law” (pp.130-138):

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel of Thomas (38, 40, 50, 51, 56):

(38) Jesus said, Often you wanted to hear these sayings I am telling you, and you have no one else from whom to hear them. There will be days when you will seek me and you will not find me.

(39)…the Pharisees and the scholars have taken the keys of knowledge and have hidden them. They have not entered, nor have they allowed those who want to enter to go inside. You should be shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves.

(40) A grapevine has been planted far from the father….

(41)…Whoever has something in hand will be given more and whoever has nothing will be deprived….

(42) Come into being as you pass away.

(46) …whoever among you becomes a child will know the kingdom….

(49)…Blessings on you who are alone and chosen, for you will find the kingdom. You have come from it and will return there again.

(50) If they say to you, “Where have you come from?” say to them, “We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being by itself, established itself, and appeared in their image.” If they say to you, “Is it you?” say, “We are its children and the chosen of the living father.” If they ask you, “What is the evidence of your father in you?” say to them, “It is motion and rest.”

(51) His students said to him, When will…the new world come? (And) he said to them, What you look for has come but you do not know it.

(54) Blessings on you the poor, for yours is the kingdom of heaven.

(56) Whoever has come to know the world has discovered a carcass….

(57) The father’s kingdom is like someone with good seed….

(58) Blessings upon the person who has labored and found life.

(59) Look to the living one as long as you live or you (will) die…and you will not be able to see.

“Live A Life of Many Activities Including Spiritual Growth”

Different types of sports played by people

Different types of sports played by people

“This threefold union with Reality, as your attention is focused now on one aspect, now on another, of its rich simplicity, will be actualized by you in many different ways: for you are not now to suppose that an unchanging barren ecstasy is now to characterize your inner life. … The sense of your own dwelling within the Eternal transfuses and illuminates it, the sense of your own necessary efforts, a perpetual renewal of contact with the spiritual world. … When the greater love overwhelms the lesser, and your small self-consciousness is lost in the consciousness of the Whole, it will be felt as an inner stillness, a quiet fruition of Reality. … Since you are a child of Time as well as of Eternity, such effort and satisfaction, active and passive love are both needed by you, if your whole live is to be brought into union with the inconceivable rich yet simple one in whom these apparent opposites are harmonized.” ~Evelyn Underhill

“Today, perhaps more than ever, it is hard to stay focused on one thing, but that is not necessarily bad. I don’t mean the kind of lack-of-focus some people have where they never accomplish anything because they keep changing their mind on what they want to accomplish. I mean those of us who do no what we want, and will work towards a goal for years when necessary, but not all day, every day. We need to live a rich life of many worthy activities, not just one, but make sure spiritual growth is one of them.”

Are You Prepared for the 2016 Cosolargy Forum?

2009-SPM-Convocation Gene-FuellingS

It is time to make your plans for attending the 2016 Convocation. We will meet for this year’s Convocation from Wednesday, September 7th, through Sunday, September 11th.

In addition to conventional Convocation lecture presentations, this year we are making provisions to offer you a platform to deliver a presentation on a topic related to Cosolargy that you are passionate about. If you have knowledge of our System, or a novel perspective on it, something that you feel will contribute to the growth of the Teaching in the world, and which you would like to share, we are asking for your active participation in the Cosolargy Forum.

The Cosolargy Forum is a full-day event being curated by Cosolargy International, with an audience of all the attendees at the 2016 Convocation. It will be held all morning and afternoon of Friday, September 9th. Our goal is for people to share their professional insights and how they relate to Cosolargy in such manner that others in the Community can benefit from their hard work, wealth of knowledge, and unique perspectives.

We expect the forum will provide a platform for the creativity of more of our Community members and will act as a collection point for their knowledge, so that all of us in attendance, and future generations, can benefit from the experience, ingenuity, and insight that each one of us has to offer. In this manner we will begin working together to build upon our institutions of learning, so that The Teachings of our System can be taught to many.

Several Consociates have already asked that a platform be provided for them to deliver presentations on topics for which they have a passion. Interestingly, all of their topics are directly related to Cosolargy. These so far include physics, gemology, poetry, neuroscience, and music – and we would be excited if you would join us.

If you have an email address, you have already received an invitation to present. Just fill out the email form and forward to rpetrovich@communityofchrist.org. Or else print out the PDF of the Speaker Application Form below and mail it in.

Your talk would be filmed and an edit may be selected for posting on the ICC/Cosolargy YouTube channel. As with all speakers, we will work together with you ahead of time to craft the talk. Your talk can be up to 20 minutes, on any themes or topics you are interested in that relate to Cosolargy and the work of Cosolargy International, with an additional 10 minutes available for questions and answers.

All presentations are scheduled for September 9, 2016. We believe your voice would be a welcome addition to the Cosolargy Forum stage. Please let us know before August 1 whether or not you would be interested in speaking. We still have spots open on our roster.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from Book II of the Book of God’s Revelation, “The Seal of God’s New Law” (pp.125-130):]

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel of Thomas 15-37:

(15) When you see one born not of woman, fall on your faces and worship. That is your father. (18) Where the beginning is, the end will be. Blessings on you who stand at the beginning. You will know the end and not taste death. (19) Blessings on you who came into being before coming into being. If…you hear my sayings, these stones will serve you. (20) [Heaven] is like a mustard seed, the tiniest of seeds, but when it falls on prepared soil, it produces a great plant and becomes a shelter for the birds of heaven.

(21) …if the owner of a house knows that a thief is coming, he will be on guard before the thief arrives and will not let the thief break into the house of his estate and steal his possessions. As for you, be on guard against the world. Arm yourselves with great strength, or the robbers will find a way to reach you, for the trouble you expect will come.

(22) …[Jesus] said to his students, These nursing babies are like those who enter the kingdom. They said to him, Then shall we enter the kingdom as babies? [He] said to them, When you make the two one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter the kingdom.

(23) Jesus said, I shall choose you as one from a thousand and as two from ten thousand and they will stand as a single one. (24) Whoever has ears should hear. There is light within a person of light and it shines on the whole world. If it does not shine it is dark. (25) Jesus said, Love your brother like your soul. Protect that person like the pupil of your eye. (27) If you do not fast from the world, you will not find the kingdom….you will not see the father.

(28) I took my stand in the midst of the world, and I appeared to them in flesh. I found them all drunk yet none of them thirsty. My soul ached for the human children because they are blind in their hearts and do not see. They came into the world empty and seek to depart from the world empty. (37) When you strip naked without being ashamed and take your clothes off and put them under your feet like small children and trample them, then you will see the child of the living one and you will not be afraid.
