Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered by the Officiant of the Communion Service (that is, Bishop Gene Savoy, or occasionally in his stead, Bishop Sean Savoy) just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION
A Reading from the Book of God’s Revelation, “The Seal of God’s New Law” (pp.148-150).
ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS
A Reading from the Gospel of John, Chapter 1:
In the beginning was the Word
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
Through Him everything came to be.
What came to be in Him was life
and life was the light of all people
and the light in the darkness shone
and the darkness could not apprehend the light. There was a man sent from God.
His name was John.
He came as a witness in testimony of the light
so that all might believe through him.
He was not the light,
but he came to testify about the light.
The light was the true light,
which illuminates every person
who comes into the world. He was in the world
and through him the world was born,
and the world did not know him.
He went to his own
and his own did not receive him.To all who received him
he gave power to become the Children of God,
to those who believed in his name,
who were born hot from blood
or from the will of the flesh
of from the will of a man,
but were born of God.

“In days gone by, you have had leaders to guide you, but before them were even greater leaders, whom you have not known. The inspiration of their word is something that must never be lost; it must be preserved for all time.
“You must establish a community, where men can live together and where they can enjoy the companionship of women. Men always benefit from united effort, but this is inseparable from necessary restrictions. Let the restrictions imposed be such that no man can feel resentment because of the restraints set upon him. Let the only ordinances and restriction imposed be founded on the nature of man and upon spiritual and moral values.
“We must seek to assure freedom of action for every man and woman, so long as it does not prejudice the equal rights of others. … The rewards must go to the men who are best in all ways. …We must to provide for the sick and helpless, for the old and incapable. … We must make men high-minded and above all pettiness. … We must be a guiding light before the eyes of all men.” ~The Kolbrin Bible (SOF:1:6-11)
Great Leaders
There have been many great leaders in the world of various types. There are great political leaders, great business leaders, great leaders in science and art. The greatest leaders of all, however, are the great spiritual leaders. They are the greatest because they care for our immortal spirits and souls rather than our mortal bodies. They are great because they believe in equality.

It is with great pleasure that we once again extend to you, and all our members, our special invitation to join in Community for the annual Convocation of the Sacred College, Consociates of The Academy, and students of the various extension programs of the Jamilian University. It is with great pleasure that we once again extend to you, and all our members, our special invitation to join in Community for the annual Convocation of the Sacred College, Consociates of The Academy, and students of the various extension programs of the Jamilian University.
We will meet for this year’s Convocation from Tuesday, September 5th, through Sunday, September 10th. The main lecture program will include the Clergy Counsels and the Residence Training Seminar on THE LIVING LITURGY. Both will be live presentations delivered personally by Bishop Gene Savoy Jr.
Events begin Tuesday, September 5th with a Welcome Reception and Buffet at Bishopstead, the Rectory and home of Bishop Savoy and his family. Residence Training begins Wednesday, September 6th, out of doors at the Red Rock Sanctuary following Sunrise Service. These sessions will provide techniques and demonstrations interspersed with insights into practice of The System and living the spiritual life in contemporary times. The mechanics of nine separate archetypal imaging techniques will be discussed and demonstrated. During the week there will be numerous other live presentations as well:
• spoken word performances of a new translation of the Odes of Solomon, a dramatic sequence of sacred poems from the second-century, with commentary by the Reverend Robert Petrovich
• a reprise of the lecture which the Reverend Gary Buchanan delivered at the International Light Conference
• and a number of other presentations on Cosolargy-related topics during the two days of the Cosolargy Forum.
This year we are again offering a platform for a number of individual Community members to deliver presentations on topics related to Cosolargy about which they are knowledgeable and passionate. We expect this forum to provide a platform for the creativity of more of our Community members and to act as a collection point for their knowledge, so that all of us in attendance, and future generations, can benefit from the experience, ingenuity, and insight that each of these speakers has to offer. In this manner we will continue working together to build upon our institutions of learning, so that The Teachings of our System can be taught to many.
Please be sure to fill out all the sections of the registration form. Your responses help us to plan events with you in mind. Should you have any questions about the proceedings, your participation, your lodging or travel plans, please do not hesitate to call me at the Chancellery at (775) 786-7827. You may also e-mail me at fpetrovich@communityofchrist.org.
Every year your active participation has a profound meaning beyond words. Your presence will enhance the forces that have activated and motivated our Community for many decades. We look forward to seeing you!
Yours, most sincerely,
Reverend Francine Petrovich

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE
Tuesday, July 11, 2017
Today I write to you from Los Barriles, Mexico, where I am visiting and meeting with friends and business associates of ours to continue paving the way for “Cosolargy International’s Retreat at El Cardonal: Health, Healing and Wellness Center.” In addition to solidifying our friendships here for future visits with members of The Community, my main goal this time is to continue progress on concept designs and renderings for the Mexico Center.
We envision several components to the Retreat. The seven main aspects will be 1) the healing and wellness center, including areas for light, color and sound therapies, as well as indoor and outdoor pools; 2) teaching and study facilities for the Jamilian University; 3) at least 12 guest rooms and suites; 4) restaurant; 5) floral and vegetable gardens; 6) a small chapel; and 7) balconies facing east and west for sunrises and sunsets in addition to the magnificent sunrises we already experience on the beach.
As you can see, this is an ambitious project – one which will take time, energy and resources to accomplish. It certainly will not be finished overnight and will, most probably, have to be built in stages. The main purpose of the concept designs and renderings is to give you an idea of what will be and also to attract others outside of The Community to participate in the project and become involved. We will not be able to fund this ourselves, so we will need outside resources. However, the simple fact that we have secured the property and are able to make the monthly payments is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations!
I will have an update for you in next week’s message. My goal is to have some of the renderings presented in September during our annual Convocation. I look forward to communicating with you next week.
“God inspires the building of a new Community filled with His Light and the Word within that Light….And by the establishment of this new Community, man shall be empowered to use God’s Sun in Goodness, Righteousness and Justice for the establishment of a new world in which God shall be known to all living things as was intended from the beginning….I say unto you and men of every religion in the world that the Word of God is manifesting in the Light of the Sun of Righteousness. And the language within that Light which can be taken into the being of every person is a dialogue that can be understood by Spirit.” — Prophecy to the Races of Man
The Church has recently made arrangements to purchase 2.5 acres of beachfront property in Baja California Sur, Mexico to establish a Cosolargy Center there. It is hoped that this center will serve as the headquarters for Cosolargy International in the Spanish-speaking world. The proposed name for the center there is “The Retreat at El Cardonal: Health, Healing & Wellness Center.”
The property is located in the beautiful area of El Cardonal, a 25-minute drive north of Los Barriles on the east coast of the peninsula on the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez). A parcel map of the property shows three elongated beachfront lots on the east, one back lot to the west, and an L-shaped access easement. The property has been purchased and the Charter and the documents for the Mexico corporation have already been completed. (Links are provided below.)

During the last week of April Bishop Gene Savoy Jr visited the area again with several purposes in mind: to 1) close the property land purchase; 2) meet with property owners adjacent to us; 3) meet with local and state government officials; 4) talk to the contractor and architect about design plans for the project; 5) meet with doctors in the area who may be able to help us with the concept of a retirement facility. Gene’s nineteen-year-old daughter Sonya accompanied him to get her citizenship and see the scope of the project with an eye to helping out sometime in the future.
While visiting the property, Gene took a number of photos of the property and of the views from the property in different directions. We are sharing some of these in the gallery below so that those of you who have not yet visited the property can get a sense of its location and environs.

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS
A Reading from the Writings of Isaiah
Arise , shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness will cover the earth, and gross darkness the people, but the Lord will are upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.
And the nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Lift up your eyes round above and see all they gather themselves together, they come to you, your sons will come from far and your daughters will be nursed at your side.
Then you will see, and flow together, and your heart will fear, and be enlarge, because the abundance of the sea will be converted to you, the forces of the nation will come to you.
Violence will no more be heard in your land, wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls Salvation , and the gates Praise.
The sun will be no more you light by day; neither for brightness will the moon give light to you: but the LORD will be to you an everlasting light, and your God you glory.
Your sun will not more go down, neither will your moon withdraw itself: for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be ended.
Your people will also be righteous: they will inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, work of my hands.
But you will be named the Priests of the LORD: man will call you Ministers of our God: you will eat the riches of the nations and their glory will you boast yourselves.
For your shame you will have double; and for confusion they will rejoice in their portions; therefore in their land they will possess the double; everlasting joy will be to them.
For I the LORD will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. An their seed will be known among the nations, and their offspring among the people; all that see them will acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD has blessed.
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul will be joyful in my GOD; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the earth brings forth her bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
