We have often heard, “What does it profit a man if he gains the entire world but loses his Soul?” What an excellent question! We see the world becoming ever more so materialistic rejecting the true gain which is life everlasting. The world rejects the state of immortality (gained while we live in the material world) which is the sharing and comprehension of Divine Reason that fills the Universe as the sea fills the floors of the oceans.
We, especially in America, have an abundance of all things, and it is not fitting that we reject the greater abundance which God gives to us. For the greatest gifts are God’s Gifts, which He freely gives to us. And the greater Good is the birth of the Religion of Light come to the world by the Hand of God. How can we, men and women of intelligence, reject such a gift? Yet, both people of plenty and people without plenty do. We, of this Community, know that the material things and possessions are of little value without spiritual love, character, and freedom. For without embracing the spiritual, all that is acquired is temporary, transitory, and taken away as quickly as it was given.
So, in order to understand spiritual values, we must understand Divine Reason. But, in order to comprehend Divine Reason dictates that we must become divine. And that is the purpose of this Teaching and of this Church Community. For God has filled the Sun and the Ether, which is outside of the realm of the Earth’s atmosphere, with a divine Intelligence which has its origins in the Consciousness of God! And this is the fruit of the Sun of Righteousness.
This Divine Reason, which is streaming forth out of the Sun of Righteousness and is funneled through it, is the Consciousness and Thought of God acting upon the consciousness of man and woman. And this Divine Reason is filling the Ether as a seed impregnating the Spirit giving it individual and personal Life. For the Spirit of Man is like a sleeping Soul that must be reborn and awakened. And once awakened and renewed, the individual and personal Spirit-Soul reasons on divine things.
The ancients called the True Reason of Nature, “Logos.” And the Logos was the Light that created the First Man and the First Woman, as we have spoken of previously. And the ancients compared the Light to the beam of God’s Eye, which was the image of the Sun, and contained God’s Thought. We have only to look upon the Eye of God to see into the Soul of Creation. However, in order to accomplish this great feat, one must be instructed in Divine Religion, which allows man and woman to withstand and comprehend the Light, as well as the nature of God’s Word called the Logos.
As we approach the Christmas Season, we are reminded of Christ Jesus who exemplified the Life of Righteousness and embodied the Logos. He was the Word of God incarnate in Man. If we recall the words of John in his Gospel, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father,” we are reminded that Jesus is telling us not only to exemplify him but also to exceed him in his works. That is the theme of the Ministry of the Second Advent: To emulate Christ and to be miniature Suns in the world through our Light-natures.
I wish you the best of the Christmas-Epiphany Season, as we approach December 25 through January 6. We will continue on these topics over the next several weeks.
