“Light the Soul for Eternal Life”

“And now it may very exactly be understood by the essences and properties of the Soul, that in this House of Flesh (where it is as it were generated) it is not at home; and its horrible Fall may be also understood thereby. For it has no Light in itself of its own. It must borrow its Light from the Sun; which indeed springs up along with it in its Birth. … And if then the Divine Light be not again generated in the Center, then the soul remains in eternal darkness, … where nothing is to be found in the kindled fire but a horrible flash of fire in which source, also the Devils dwell. …. But if the Soul be regenerated in the Holy Ghost, … then it sees with two Lights, and lives in two Principles.” ~Jacob Boehme

Soul in a House of Flesh

“The ‘House of Flesh’ Boehme is talking about is the physical body. It is where the Soul dwells on Earth, but it is not the true home of the Soul. Its true home is in Heaven, in the spiritual worlds. The Soul is pure spirit and it belongs in a body of spirit living in a world of spirit. Because of the Great Fall, however, it is trapped in a world of matter while our physical bodies live. For this reason, the spirit and Soul are dormant when we come into the physical world and effort must be put into awakening them and nourishing them.”

January 13, 2018: Chapel Readings

Right Reverend Gene Savoy Jr.

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Prophecy of the New Covenant, Chapter 90: “Prophecy on the Revelation and the Opening of the Seals” (pp. 947-952).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel of the Egyptians:

O living water, O child of the child, O glorious name!O Living Aeon, Living One who sees the Aeons! Who is eternally eternal!

You are what you are, You are who you are!

You who lives in the heart, This great name of yours is upon me, O self-begotten Perfect one, who is not outside me. I see you, O you who are visible to everyone.

For who will be able to comprehend you in another language? Now that I have known you, I have mixed myself with the unchangeable. I have armed myself with an armor of light; I have become light!

For the Mother was at that place because of the splendid beauty of grace. Therefore, I have stretched out my hands while they were folded. I was shaped in the circle of the riches of the Light which is in my bosom, which gives shape to the many begotten ones in the Light into which no complaint reaches. I shall declare your glory truly, for I have comprehended you,

O God of Silence! I honor you completely. You are my place of rest, O formless one who exists in the formless ones, who IS, raising up the man in whom you will purify me into your life, according to your imperishable Name. Therefore, the incense of life is in me. I mixed it with water after the model of all archons, in order that I may live with you in the peace of the Holy Ones, you who ARE, really truly forever.

WEEKLY MESSAGE: January 29, 2018

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

January 29, 2018
Midnight Passing of The Child, Jamil (1962)

It is good to be writing to you again. I returned from Peru mid last week and am happy to report that it was a very successful trip. The country has changed dramatically due to political stability over the last 20 or so years and increased foreign investment. In addition to meeting with people who can help us re-establish The Community there, I was also able to travel northeast to Chachapoyas, the region where my late father made the significant discoveries of Gran Vilaya and Gran Saposoa from the mid 1980’s to the early 2000’s.

For those of you who knew the area, much has changed. Highways have replaced dirt roads, and electrical power lines have replaced intermittent generators. There is a wonderful cable car that has been constructed allowing people to access the great fortress of Kuelap. What once took the better part of a day to get to by mule now takes a mere 45 minutes. Here is a recent article to give you an idea: https://www.peruhop.com/kuelap-new-cable-car/.

The fortress of Kuelap, or La Fortaleza de Kuelap, is a fascinating place with about 600 structures. All of the buildings, except for a mere five, are circular in shape. Circular architecture is a primary feature of the Chachapoya civilization, along with rhomboid friezes and zig-zag designs. The fortress city guarded other cities which we discovered and named Gran Vilaya and Gran Saposoa, respectively. It is estimated that between 300,000 to 500,000 or more people inhabited these places before they were first conquered by the Incas and subsequently by the Spaniards. This culture, which my father took great interest in, as you may know, has been a study of ours in the Jamilian University for their solar practices and high religion. As more information becomes available on our work in Peru, I will keep you informed. For me, this is a very exciting development in our evolution!

Another thing I would like to focus on today is the upcoming Second Advent Vigil, which begins this year on Friday, February 2 and runs through Tuesday, February 6. It is my habit to read the book, Jamil: Child of Light, especially the last three chapters, 25-27: “The Child Returns to the Worlds of Light,” “At the Sepulcher,” and “The Sun of Righteousness Proclaimed,” which describe the events that took place some 56 years ago.

Today at midnight is when The Child, Jamil, passed in 1962. I would like to share with you a ritual of mine which I have observed every year since I was about ten years old. It is very simple. It certainly is not mandatory, but if you like, you may also do it somewhere in your home, especially at your Cosolargy Shrine, if you have erected one. Again, it is very simple.

As said, The Child, Jamil, passed at midnight on the cusp of January 29/30. So, tonight, after my sunset reflections, I will light a candle and some incense which I place in the Chapel of the Rectory with some fresh flowers. For those of you who have a picture of Jamil, you may want to place these in front of his image. I then read the Jamil book. If you do not have time to read the whole text, please do read the last three chapters. Of course, I will observe sunrise tomorrow morning, keeping Jamil in mind. This is a small act that, as a Jamilian and a member of his Order, reminds me of his life on Earth and is a small gesture of honor and respect. I do this not as a matter of worship, but it may be something you may like doing, as well.

As did Christ Jesus, Jamil teaches us that universal love is the first requirement of the peacemaker. In order to love in this way, the peacemaker must follow the Way of Light. By so doing, he or she partakes of great spiritual blessings and benefits that are bestowed and extended by God through the Sun of Righteousness and its manifold aspects. If we reflect love and peace on the human level, then we can begin reflecting love and peace on the divine level. By so doing, we benefit by that loving and the reciprocation of that love, for indeed love is the food of the soul that enables us to live the life of righteousness and goodness. The righteous and good are wise in the Way of God.

We here at the Community Center in Nevada will be observing the sunrise vigil from February 2 through February 6. I hope you will join me and others in the Sun at the most important time in the liturgical calendar of the Second Advent Church.

Once again, please feel free to ask me any questions by calling 775-786-7432 or emailing me at messages@cosolargy.org. I am always at your service.

In Light+,
Gene

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Prophecy of the New Covenant, Chapter 90: “Prophecy on the Revelation and the Opening of the Seals” (pp. 960-963).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Prophet Isaiah 61:

The nations shall see your righteousness,

And all rulers your glory.
You shall be called by a new name,

Which the mouth of the Lord will name.
You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord

A royal diadem In the hand of your God.
You shall no longer be termed Forsaken,
Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate;
For the Lord delights in you,

I will speak of the lovingkindness of the Lord
And the praises of the Lord,
According to all that the Lord has bestowed on us,
And the great goodness toward his people,
Which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies,
According to His manifold lovingkindness.
For He said, “Surely they are My people,
Children who will not lie.”
So He became their Savior.
And the Angel of His Presence saved them;
In His love and in His pity He redeemed them;
And He bore them and carried them
All the days.

“Study provides evidence for externally powered Sun”

“A new study published in the International Journal of Current Research provides evidence for an externally powered Sun, challenging the concepts of the Standard Solar Model (SSM). The study suggests our star is not an isolated celestial body, but rather it is linked permanently to the Universe, not only to our galaxy.”

“Return to Our Spiritual Nature”

“How the might of Nature sways
All the world in ordered ways,
How resistless laws control
Each least portion of the whole –
Fain would I in sounding verse
On my pliant strings rehearse. …

And the woodland songster, pent
in forlorn imprisonment,
Through a mistress’ lavish care
Store of honeyed sweets prepare;
Yet, if in his narrow cage,
As he hops from bar to bar,
He should spy the woods afar,
Cool with sheltering foliage,
All these dainties he will spurn,
To the woods his heart will turn;
Only for the woods he longs,
Pipes the woods in all his songs. …

Thus are all things seen to yearn
In due time for due return;
And no order fixed may stay,
Save which in th’ appointed way
Joins the end to the beginning
In a steady cycle spinning.

“Ye, too, creatures of earth, have some glimmering of your origin, however faint and through it a vision dim and clouded, yet in some wise, not withstanding, ye discern the true end of happiness, and so the aim of nature leads you thither—to that true good—while error in many forms leads you astray therefrom.” ~Boethius

Return to Nature

“In the selected verses from one of his songs, Boethius tells us that no matter how wonderful is the captivity in which they find themselves, the birds and lions in cages yearn to be free and return to nature. We may think the bird is happy in his cage, but if let lose it will almost always fly off and not return. Living free in the natural world is more important than being spoiled and cared for, yet captive.

“Boethius is telling us that, in a sense, we are all like that bird. We don’t realize that we are captives in a cage, but that is exactly what the world of matter is. It is an empty world, a world of death and disease, a world of change, and a world doomed to end one day. Deep down, we all yearn to return to our nature, which is spirit, not matter. We know deep down that we have a spiritual nature and we want to return to it.”

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the First Prophecy to the Americas, Chapter 15: “On the New Sun” (pp. 128-130).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from an Egyptian Prayer to the Sun at Solstice:

Great sun, wheel of fire, Ra in your glory,
hear me as I honor you
on this, the shortest day of the year.
Summer has gone, passed us by,
the fields are dead and cold,
all of earth sleeps in your absence.
Even in the darkest times,
you light the way for those who would need a beacon,
of hope, of brightness,
shining in the night.
Winter is here, and colder days coming,
the fields are bare and the livestock thin.
We light these candles in your honor,
that you might gather your strength
and bring life back to the world.
O Ra, mighty sun above us,
we ask you to return, to bring back to us
the light and the warmth of your fire.
Bring life back to earth,
Bring light back to earth.
Hail Ra! Ruler of the sun!
