HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

May 24, 2018

 

Good morning. I am writing a short note to you today having recently returned from the Baja peninsula in Mexico. As you know, last year The Community acquired about 2.5 acres on the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California) in the town of El Cardonal just north of Los Barriles. Los Barriles is primarily a fishing and touristic town and is a 45-minute drive northeast of the international airport at San Joe del Cabo. Several members of The Community joined me from Reno and Japan, and we were greeted by the sun in a dazzling rainbow of color.

We spent six days there visiting our property and experiencing boating on the clear blue waters, among other activities. One of the main purposes of our visit was to meet with the designers, architects and contractors, which we did. I am very pleased to say that their designs for our multi-purpose facility are excellent! We will be displaying these renderings at Convocation in September and discussing our future plans there, which include a health and healing center, a branch of the Jamilian University, a chapel, accommodations for guests (both long and short term), and a restaurant. For those of you who are unable to join us in September, we will, of course, send you this information by mail and/or email.

I have attached a few photographs of our visit. The first is the midday sun on the day of our arrival (5/14/18). The second is the lone cactus on our property which is called a Cardon, thus the name of the town. The third is the sunrise over the Sea of Cortez on May 18, 2018.

As we approach Second Advent Pentecost on Wednesday, June 6th (50 days following True Easter – April 18), next week’s message will be more aligned with that date, which is fixed in the Second Advent Community according to the Sacred Calendar which is solar in structure. In the meantime, for those of you observing Memorial Day in the United States, I wish you a happy, safe and relaxing holiday.

May 26, 2018: Chapel Readings

 

 

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

A Reading from the Eleventh Ode of Solomon:

My heart was opened and its flower appeared; and grace sprang up in it; and it brought forth fruit to the Lord,

2 For the Most High opened my hear by His Holy Spirit and searched my affection toward Him: and filled me with His love.

3 And His opening of me became my salvation; and I ran in His way, in His peace, even in the way of truth:

4 From the beginning and even to the end I acquired His knowledge:

5 And I was established upon the rock of truth, where He had set me up:

6 And speaking waters touched my lips from the fountain of the Lord plenteously:

7 And I drank and was inebriated with the living water that does not die;

“Spiritual Progress Requires Work and Proper Motivation”

 

 

“Those who seek spiritual knowledge with much labor, but do not succeed in finding it, fail either through lack of faith or perhaps because in their stupidity and jealousy they have in mind to attack those who possess knowledge, just as the people of old once attacked Moses. … He who pursues spiritual knowledge for the sake of display and fails to attain it should not envy his neighbor or be cast down. On the contrary, … through the practice of the virtues, by working hard with his body, he will prepare his soul for that knowledge.

Hard Work and Progress

Hard work is necessary for progress on our spiritual journey, as with most any journey or task. But hard work doesn’t necessarily mean you are making progress.

Greetings from Mexico! Here are the final four of the 33 Fundamentals as found in the Prophecy of the End Times.

THIRTIETH: The blessings of the Messianic Sun are all bountiful and cannot be transmitted from one person to another; these blessings are restricted to those who have truly given themselves over to the care of God and each is cautioned to remember these blessings are a matter of degree, for God sees into one’s Soul knowing who loves Him; therefore, when looking at the sun every Minister should know that therein exists three aspects – the first is God manifest in the spiritual Sun of Righteousness; the second consists of sentient beings of both Light and Dark Powers of a kind not known to, or understood by, mankind on Earth; and the third consists of energies and forces of the material universe – and without true devotion to the Church and the service of God, the second and third aspects will influence a person’s destiny to ends not in accord with God’s Divine Plan for human salvation.

THIRTY-FIRST: Having manifested His Image and Word, which are reflections of His Form, Being and Consciousness, God appears to the Elect of the Church as the Sun of Righteousness, and every Minister is cautioned against improper or indiscriminate use of the magnified energies and powers displayed in the material sun, through which spiritual forces appear, and each Minister is obliged to master these for the overall good of the cosmos.

THIRTY-SECOND: Christ – the Form, Being and Consciousness of God manifest as the Light of the Sun of Righteousness — is Man’s only Redeemer, and Ministers are to teach against the idea of the appearance of any human messiah as an act of the Powers of Darkness, these being the intellectual powers of sentient beings existing in material dimensions of a higher degenerate state than those now apparent to Man.

THIRTY-THIRD: God, being all Loving and Good, has willed that Divine Reason govern the actions of Man more than human reason, and that all those persons participating in the Divine State constitute the True Church of God; they are to exemplify this new life which requires great learning and knowledge of new spiritual Revelations, Prophecies, Teachings, Scripture and living a Liturgical Life unlike any other religious way known to Man so that God can shed His Image and Word through mankind, as well as from the Sun in Heaven.

These complete the 33 Fundamentals. To those of us who have lived a liturgical life within The Community for many decades, these fundamentals echo with profound truth. For others who are new to The System of Cosolargy, they may not as yet ring with such profundity. Still others will question their validity. It is up to you to apply these Teachings to the best of your ability.

The struggle between the Powers of Light and the Powers of Darkness for the control of Man’s destiny is an eternal battle that is now culminating under the direct intervention of God. We have use of our free will to determine what our destiny will be. It is our School’s responsibility to inform man and woman of their choice in the New Condition of the Sun of Righteousness and the means by which he or she can overcome Darkness by learning to live the Way of Light.

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel of Philip:

It is from water and fire that the soul and the spirit came into being. It is from water and fire and light that the son of the bridal chamber (came into being). The fire is the chrism, the light is the fire. I am not referring to that fire which has no form, but to the other fire whose form is white, which is bright and beautiful, and which gives beauty.

Truth did not come into the world naked, but it came in types and images. The world will not receive truth in any other way. There is a rebirth and an image of rebirth. It is certainly necessary to be born again through the image. Resurrection. The image must rise again through the image. The bridal chamber and the image must enter through the image into the truth: this is the restoration. Not only must those who produce the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, do so, but they have produced them for you. . . .

The Lord did everything in a mystery, a baptism and a chrism and a eucharist and a redemption and a bridal chamber. . . . he said, “I came to make the things below like the things above, and the things outside like those inside. I came to unite them in the one place.”

“Hermeticism and Unity with God”

 

 

“Another system that should perhaps be fitted into the Gnostic framework is Hermeticism. It is very diverse and it draws its material from many sources within the Western Mystery traditions; it considers that the whole of mankind is on a spiritual journey that is designed to return to a state of unity with the mind of God and this state of unity is its prime purpose; and it holds that spiritual growth cannot be achieved without human effort. If humanity is to reach the Divine therefore, we must aspire to the Divine.” ~Bernard Simon

Hermeticism is Gnosticism

There is really no doubt that Hermeticism is a school of Gnosticism. While some specific details vary from other schools, the primary tenets are the same. Most experts agree that the writing attributed to Hermes were probably written by several individual and collected together over a period of time.

Spiritual Journey

That mankind is on a spiritual journey is one of the beliefs of Hermeticism that it shares with many other schools. Some schools teach that we were sent here intentionally to learn before we become fully spiritual. Most Gnostic schools, however, do not consider the Great Fall into matter to be something God intended. It is instead the result of the errors made by the fallen angels.

Birthday of The Man & First Prophet (1927)

And here are the next seven of the 33 Fundamentals of our Church Community:

TWENTY-THIRD: The New Ministry of the Church of the Second Advent is licensed by God deriving its lawful existence through ordination in unbroken continuity from the appearance of The Child down to the First Prophet, the Guardian of The Child, ordained of Christ as called by God.

TWENTY-FOURTH: The New Ministry succeeds the Apostles and Disciples of Christ, and the First Prophet succeeds The Child Christ and holds his Office on Earth.

TWENTY-FIFTH: The Office of The Child Christ governs the Church in all matters and heads The Ministry and The School.

TWENTY-SIXTH: The Ministers of the New Church are empowered by God within its structure of Laws and Statutes to instruct all of the human family and its governing bodies, as well as its institutions of learning, both secular and religious, in the New Condition brought upon the Earth by the coming of God into the world through the spiritual Sun of Righteousness.

TWENTY-SEVENTH: The responsibility of the New Ministry is binding, for all who have received the blessings of God must teach others within, and only within, the authorized Church of the Second Advent as a sacred duty.

TWENTY-EIGHTH: The Revelations and Teachings of the Church of the Second Advent have been revealed to the First Prophet and Apostle through inspiration of the Word of God, and Ministers and others are charged not to use private judgement or human interpretation of these Revelations and Teachings or to make innovations on that which has been revealed for the purpose of establishing a Restored and Regenerate Church on Earth.

TWENTY-NINTH: A special bond exists between God and His Church on Earth extending down from the Messianic Sun to every Minister sharing in His Divine Love that cannot be enjoyed by anyone, though he look upon the sun from sunrise to sunset, outside of the Special Grace bestowed by the Creator upon those who serve in this New Age of Light and Spirit.

The final four Fundamentals will be presented next week. I will be in Mexico at that time with members of The Community from Reno, Japan and Mexico visiting our recently acquired property on the Sea of Cortez.
