WEEKLY MESSAGE: October 17, 2018

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

October 17, 2018

Hello and good morning. I hope you are well. I apologize for the delay in writing to you. However, I have been occupied with some travel of late. Two weekends ago, my wife, Radheka, and I accompanied our Reverend Canon Gary Buchanan and his wife, Reverend Amanda, to San Francisco where Gary was presenting at the Global Sound Healing Conference. The conference was held at Temple Sherith Israel, the oldest Jewish congregation in California (established in 1850). Gary gave a wonderful presentation on Sonatherapy, Cosolargy, and our healing work at Steamboat Hot Springs.

Before that, on September 24th, I left for Los Barriles in Mexico which, as you know, is where The Community has land for a proposed Center. I was there for several days meeting with people closely involved in our project for updates on the same. I was also able to get a better idea of the annual expenses in maintaining the property and moving the project forward, which I will be sharing with you soon in order to not only keep you informed but also to ask for your support. There are some minimal expenses, such as property taxes and fees for the accountant, etc., that need to be paid. Again, I will write to you in more detail concerning this very soon.

During this trip, I had the opportunity to drive from Reno to the southern end of the Baja peninsula where Los Barriles is located. This is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to finally do it. It was a very fulfilling four-day journey with overnight stops in Del Mar, California; Catavina, Baja California; and Loreto, Baja California Sur.

In addition, I would like to share with you these inspirational words from the Prophecy to the Races of Man:

“Men have heard that the Word of God is that written word put down by ancient prophets and holy men of former ages. And they believe that God spoke to these men and inspired them to write sacred writings which would be an inspiration and a sacred commandment to all the faithful forever. And so it is that people read scripture, believing it is the written word that illuminates and guides their souls.

“But I say unto you, and men and women of every religion in the world, that the Word of God is manifesting in the Light of the Sun of Righteousness. And the language within that Light which can be taken into the being of every person is a dialogue that can be understood by the Spirit.

“The religion of Light is living, in that it allows men and women to have direct contact with their Creator by means of that Light sent to Earth by God the Father.

“It is good that holy ones inspired of God write their prophecies. And these prophecies can be understood by men and women and used as guides for greater development of mind and soul. But the Word of God manifesting in the Light of God’s Sun is the singular source of Man’s inspiration and illumination. And herein is a mystery.

“God would that everyone know Him. For this reason He has sent the Word in the Light. It was this same Light that created the world; and it is the same Light that restores man and woman to their rightful positions as immortals of God.

“The written word in scripture and sacred literature was given to the ancients for their instruction in the ways of God. But these writings and holy books given to preserve knowledge of God have been abused; for men and women of ministry believe and teach that all knowledge of God is found in books, and not in the Spirit of God. They preach that God manifested to the ancients in remote times in a very special way that is no longer possible. And they repeat the same words over and over to themselves and to their children. And by these means the blind lead the blind and scripture becomes a stumbling block to the spiritual.

“It is good for people to read of the statutes and judgements of God given to the ancients for social law and order. But I say unto you that the faithful have become instruments of material powers because of the written word. The words in the books have entrapped Man; and his Spirit has withered because of it.

“Man’s spiritual nature can be illuminated by means of God’s Word within the Light of the Sun. It cannot be illuminated by the written word. Therefore, scripture is not the Word of God as generally believed.”

Next week, we will review in more detail the Mysteries of Illumination.

Once again, please feel free to ask me any questions by calling 775-786-7432 or emailing me at messages@cosolargy.org. I am always at your service.

In Light+,
Gene

October 13, 2018: Chapel Readings

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Prophecy to the Races of Man: Chapter 62, “A New Revelation” (pp. 396-399)

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the 16th Ode of Solomon:

As the occupation of the ploughman is the ploughshare, and the occupation of the helmsman is the steering of the ship, so also my occupation is the psalm of the Lord by His hymns.

My art and my service are in His hymns, because His love has nourished my heart, and His fruits He poured unto my lips.

For my love is the Lord; hence I will sing unto Him.

For I am strengthened by His praises, and I have faith in Him.

I will open my mouth, and His Spirit will speak through me the glory of the Lord and His beauty, the work of His hands, and the labor of His fingers; for the multitude of His mercies, and the strength of His Word.

For the Word of the Lord investigates that which is invisible, and reveals His thought. For the eye sees His works, and the ear hears His thought.

It is He who made the earth broad, and placed the waters in the sea.
He expanded the heaven, and fixed the stars.

And He fixed the creation and set it up, then He rested from His works.

And created things run according to their courses, and work their works, for they can never cease nor fail.

And the hosts are subject to His Word.

The reservoir of light is the sun, and the reservoir of darkness is the night.

For He made the sun for the day so that it will be light; but night brings darkness over the face of the earth.
And by their portion one from another they complete the beauty of God.

And there is nothing outside of the Lord, because He was before anything came to be.

And the worlds are by His Word, and by the thought of His heart.

“Rule of Truth and Knowledge”

“If you always think about the bad traits in man,you boost the bad in him. If you think about the good traits, you boost the good in him.
“The first crime in the world is to vilify man. All crime is due to the impure thoughts and wishes that leave in people certain impurities and surpluses.
“Strong people are those who transmit love, weak people those who only accept love. …
“There are three rules you need to keep in mind in order to free yourself from all your delusions:

  • The first rule: Love is a way of life. … Embracing love, you will avoid the greatest mishaps.
  • The second rule: the light of wisdom is a way to knowledge. Consequently, if you do not have this way, this light, you cannot acquire knowledge. …
  • The third rule: Truth is a way to freedom. Consequently, if you are not in this way of Truth, you cannot be free.”

~Biensa Douno

Thinking is Receiving is the first Rule

“Not only spiritual teachers, but many others say that we affect our world with the way we think. This happens in several different ways.”

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Prophecy to the Races of Man: Chapter 66, “A Holy Family” (pp. 424-432)

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel of John 14

[1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
[2] In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
[4] And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
[5] Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
[8] Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
[9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
[10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
[11] Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
[12] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
[13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
[14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.
[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
[17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
[18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
[19] Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
[20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
[21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
[22] Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
[24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
[25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
[26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
[27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
[28] Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
[29] And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
[30] Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
[31] But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

“Turning light upside down”

This is an illustration of waves propagating away from a point-like source. Left: Regular wave propagation. Right: Wave propagation on a hyperbolic metasurface.

Researchers have developed a ‘hyperbolic metasurface’ on which light propagates with completely reshaped wavefronts.

“Researchers from CIC nanoGUNE (San Sebastian, Spain), in collaboration with the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC, San Sebastian, Spain) and Kansas State University (USA), report in Science the development of a so called ‘hyperbolic metasurface’ on which light propagates with completely reshaped wavefronts. This scientific achievement towards a more precise control and monitoring of light is highly interesting for the long run technological challenge of miniaturizing optical devices for sensing and signal processing.

“Optical waves propagating away from a point source typically exhibit circular (convex) wavefronts. ‘Like waves on a water surface when a stone is dropped,’ explains Peining Li, EU Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellow at nanoGUNE and first author of the paper. The reason of this circular propagation is that the medium through which light travels is typically homogenous and isotropic i.e. uniform in all directions.

“Scientists had already theoretically predicted that specifically structured surfaces can turn the wavefronts of light upside down when it propagates along them. ‘On such surfaces, called hyberbolic metasurfaces, the waves emitted from a point source propagate only in certain directions and with open (concave) wavefronts,’ explains Javier Alfaro, PhD student at nanoGUNE and co-author of the paper. These unusual waves are called hyperbolic surface polaritons.”

“Self-Realization of the Spiritual Kind”

“Well have you renounced these passing pleasures so dear to the senses, Nachiketa, and turned your back on the way of the world which makes mankind forget the goal of life. Far apart are wisdom and ignorance. The first leads one to Self-realization. The second makes one more and more estranged from from his real Self. …

“Like the blind led by the blind. Far beyond their eyes , hypnotized by the world of sense, opens the way to immortality. … It is but few who hear about the Self. Fewer still dedicate their lives to its realization. … Blessed are they who, through an illumined teacher, attain to Self-realization. The truth of self cannot come through one who has not realized that he is the Self. The intellect cannot reveal the Self.” ~The Katha Upanishad

Self-realization of the True Self

The term Self-realization is thrown about today in a way that makes a joke of its original meaning. You can check online dictionaries to find it defined as such things as the fulfillment of ones character, personality, talents, or desires. That is not at all what the ancient spiritual teachers meant by Self-realization.

Essentially, they are telling us that we have two selves: a material and mental self, and a spiritual, divine Self. The spiritual Self is almost always capitalized to show that it is far more important than the mortal self. So when spiritual teachers or books talk about Self-realization,they don’t mean that we reach the peak of our profession, that we get a book published, or even have a viral video on Youtube. Those may all be good things to do, but they are not really Self-realization.

Self-realization happens when we awaken our spiritual faculties that are dormant when we come into the world of matter. We awaken them with spiritual light, the light from the spiritual sun.
