Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. A Reading from the Manichaean Scriptures:

When the First Man had ended his struggle the Father sent forth his Second Son.
He came and helped his brother out of the Abyss.
He built this whole world up out of the mixture
that had come into existence out of Light and Darkness.
All the Powers of the Abyss he spread out; he shut them up into this World and made it a dungeon for all the Powers of Darkness.
This World is also, however, a place of purification of the soul
which had been swallowed up in the Powers of Darkness.
The Sun and the Moon were set up and fixed in the heights to purify the Soul.
They take the refined part daily upward to the heights but they destroy the dross. This whole world stands firm for a season,
since there is a great Building being erected outside the world.
At the Hour when the Architect shall complete it, the entire world shall be dissolved; It shall be set afire, that the fire may melt it away.
All Life, the Remnants of Light in every Place,
he shall gather to himself and form of it an Image.
The Resolution of Death and the whole of Darkness
he shall gather in and make an image of itself along with the Archon.
In a moment the Living Spirit shall come.
It will rescue the Light,
but the Resolution of Death and the Darkness it will
lock away in the chamber that was built for it that it may lie in chains forever.
A New Aeon shall be built in the place of this World, which shall be dissolved,
so that in it the Powers of Light may reign
since they have performed and fulfilled the whole of the Father’s will.

Yonder Shore

“I think it is clear that the “yonder shore” being written about is not on the other side of a river. Neither is it on the other side of an ocean. We are speaking of a march greater shore than that. It is really the higher dimension of spirit that is here being called “yonder shore”.

“Mortal men reach the other shore of rivers, lakes, and even oceans all the time. Few, however, reach higher dimension of existence, spiritual dimensions. Most, as the quote says, run back and forth along the shore thinking they are making a great journey, but actually going nowhere.

Follow Spiritual Doctrine

“Those who follow “the Doctrine” will be able to reach that yonder shore. But what doctrine? There are many doctrines in the world. Even if we limit it to doctrines on spiritual growth and development, there are dozens, if not hundreds. We have to trust our intuition when searching for a real spiritual school. My intuition led me to Cosolargy, and there I stay. I wont go into the intuitive feelings and the many dreams I have had that tell me I have made a good choice.”

“Most people have heard of the ‘mind/body connection’ and are aware that emotions affect the way people act. However, few can describe how that works. Crystal enrolled in the Academy in July 2014 and entered the Sacred College in September 2017. Marilyn enrolled in the Academy in December 2017 and entered the Sacred College in February 2018.

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

November 8, 2018

We know that the Hebrew prophets, among others of other religions, were inspired for a time. A large portion of their prophecies have come to pass. Many of them were inflamed with visions and symbols of the destruction of the Temple and the city of Jerusalem and the dispersal of the Jewish people shortly after the crucifixion of Jesus. But, there is much more to understand than just the Hebrew people for God is concerned with the redemption of the whole world.

God as Messiah wills the fulfillment of that brought by Jesus and the illumination of men and women of Light who do God’s Will in the last age of the Earth. We know that the modern church labors under apostasy having fallen away from the true doctrines and teachings of Jesus, the enlightened of God come as the person of Christ. Therefore, the Christian Church must be fulfilled.

Jesus and his disciples, resurrected in God’s Light, would speak out to modern Christians. Because no one returns to the world in flesh, God sent a little child to teach for a time come in the person of Christ. We teach that all Christ beings are of one body, mind and Spirit. All those of Christ are of one body, mind and Spirit. Therefore, this religion of Light –our religion of Light — has come to fulfill Christianity (among other things). The Child Jamil is one of the messengers of God. The true Christ is the Light of God’s Sun. The Holy Child is the patron of the New Community establishing itself on Earth.

The races of Man must break away from outworn traditions letting go of old ways in order to make way for the new. In this way, this new religion will be truly universal — it shall be the fulfilled church promised by the ancient prophets. The Child inspires us to build a new Community in order that we may know and commune with God through the Light.

In this the Second Advent, God is Messiah. He Himself has assumed the Office of Christ in order to manifest to all men and women the world over through the Light of His New Sun. Within this Light, all people may partake of their divine nature and immortality. In this way, God’s Teaching is no longer restricted to any one people, nation or tradition.

God has and will continue to gather from every nation and every race a holy body of men and women dedicated to Christ and the Light so that the old churches and religions may be fulfilled. And this body of holy men and women shall be of God — their hearts shall be filled with love and their Spirits with knowledge of heavenly things. And each shall understand that they are a child of God made in His Image which is Light.

And by these means, they will return to the Godhead generation after generation until all flesh is put away and they are clothed with a pure garment of Light which shall be an eternal body of Light.

A Reading from the Teachings of Fourth-century Mystic Gregory of Nyssa

God has Logos: else He would be without reason. And this Logos cannot be merely an attribute of God. We are led to a more exalted conception of the Logos by the consideration that in the measure in which God is greater than we, all His predicates must also be higher than those which belong to us. Our logos is limited and transient; but the subsistence of the Divine Logos must be indestructible; and at the same time living, since the rational cannot be lifeless. . . . It follows, that, together with the Word, He Who speaks it, which is the father of the Word, must be recognized as existing. . . . We affirm that we find in the Logos, whose existence is derived from the father, all the attributes of the Father’s nature.

God created by His reason and wisdom; for He cannot have proceeded irrationally in that work; but His reason and wisdom are . . . not to be conceived as a spoken word, or as the mere possession of knowledge, but as a personal and self-willed potency. If the entire cosmos were created by this second Divine hypostasis, then certainly was man also thus created; yet not because of any necessity, but from superabounding love, that there might exist a being who could participate in the Divine perfections. If man were to be receptive of these [perfections], it is necessary that his nature should contain an element akin to God; and, in particular, that he should be immortal. This, then, man was created in the Image of God. He could not therefore be without the gifts of freedom, independence, [and] self-determination; and his participation in the Divine gifts was consequently made dependent on his virtue. Owing to this freedom he could decide in favor of evil, which cannot have its origin in the Divine will, but only in our inner selves.

Beings of Fire

“Joy in being on fire? This is not about physical fire. It isn’t even about having a fever. It is about the “fire” or energy of spirit. That spiritual Light that awakens and nourishes the spirit and soul. That spiritual light that brings us the gift of immortality. A gift which we must accept before it is truly ours. We accept it by turning to the spiritual sun willingly to take in that divine light. Hiding in dark caves, natural or man-made won’t do. Even when we call the caves temples or churches.”

As Bishop of the International Community of Christ, our thoughts and prayers go out to our Jewish brothers and sisters who senselessly perished, were injured and who are affected by the terrible act of Darkness at Tree of Life Synogogue yesterday in Pittsburgh. We will lift up our prayers for the next seven days.

To conclude our theme of the past two weeks, let me reiterate that the holy ones of times past were knowledgeable in the divine arts and sciences of which we are speaking. More importantly, they were knowledgeable in the divine arts and sciences which we are employing in Cosolargy. But, as we know, their knowledge was lost to Man. The Teaching has been given again under the grace of God through the Messianic Sun of Righteousness and by the establishment of the Community of Light which guards over the religious arts and sciences of the great and sacred Teachings of Light. Man and woman can regenerate themselves and the world by means of the Light found within the New Sun which illuminates mind and Soul. This regeneration is one of universal law and order.

Man and woman must learn of this new law and order for proper development of person within The Community. This is so because it is necessary for men and women to work harmoniously with the Universe of Light. And in order for this to be accomplished, it takes one’s total dedication over a whole lifetime.

Therefore, we should understand that the power given to Jesus and the Prophets and the Holy Teachers of times past was made possible by the knowledge of God’s Word manifest in the natural order of all living things. We, too, must gain a knowledge of God’s Word if we are to gain immortality of Spirit. To this end, each of us must labor within God’s Plan, which is one of unity and oneness. To labor outside of God’s Plan is to lose God’s favor and grace.

We must evolve to Light. We know that the secret is within the eyes which, being like miniature suns, feed on energy and knowledge, together composing light. The Light of the symbolic Tree of Life is the manna of God for the chosen to eat. No one may eat of the manna of the Tree of Life if they not be knowledgeable in God’s Way and Plan for the regeneration of mankind and this world.

Those who eat unworthily of the Light are of Darkness. We must understand that within the light is a darker nature which harms the Soul. However, with illumination of the Soul, the individual born of Light understands, with a comprehension beyond that of the rational senses or logical mental processes, that God is a mystery that only the illuminated can grasp, for God is beyond being, space time, energy, matter, mind, knowledge, even Spirit – yet His Essence is within all of these, just as is man and woman, made in the Image of God which is likened to the Image and the Word in Light. Mysteries indeed.

Now, let me turn your attention to something else. This week, for seven days – from Sunday, October 28 through Saturday, November 3 – we at the Community Center have offered our prayers and lit memorial candles in the Chapel of the Holy Child in downtown Reno and the Chapel of the Roses at Steamboat Hot Springs in remembrance and honor of those who perished, were injured and who suffer due to the awful massacre last Saturday at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We know these kinds of actions to be those of Darkness. Please join with us in thought and prayer this coming Saturday when we conclude our week-long commemoration of this tragic event in American history. I would appreciate it if you, too, would light a candle in your home in support of our Jewish brothers and sisters all around the world.
