WEEKLY MESSAGE: February 27, 2019

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

February 27, 2019

As we conclude February, the first month of the Sacred Calendar, I would like to paraphrase portions of the Prophecy of the New Covenant. Today’s message is the first part of three. Please take special note, as this message is important. I suggest you re-read all three parts once they are all delivered. To begin:

Let us be reminded that the Spirit is strong in the human race. High religions and true spiritual teachings have continued to be revealed and come forth under the influence of God and the Powers of Light. Nevertheless, the materialistic intentions of the races of the Earth, under the influence of Evil and the Powers of Darkness, have succeeded in overcoming the Good done by the Holy Ones with the result that, in the latter stages of an aged Earth, only a few remain to struggle against these Evil Powers.

With the corruption of the Sun, a new and final revolution of the elements has been caused to mount. God has foreordained the Appearance of His Image and Word in the Last Age of the Earth, together with a transformation of the Sun. God has willed the establishment of a New Covenant with a regenerated people brought out of all the races of the Earth for their Salvation.

Humanity is composed of uncaring people, indifferent to their spiritual destiny, which is gained by Good Spiritual action and character, as taught by High Religion and True Spiritual Teaching, not by a love of life or adherence to good human action or character, as taught by the secular or earthly religions.

The peoples of the earth are not aware of the immense power of the Spirit to do Good or Evil and that accordingly, the Sun registers the effects of serving the Powers of Light or Darkness in the very Forces that maintain the Universe. If the peoples of the Earth were to realize this, they would turn from the ways of ignorance and submission to Dark Powers and embrace the Image and Word of God’s Presence and serve them with all of their might.

God would that all peoples break from the hold of Darkness – that Power responsible for their descent into matter – a condition that binds them to suffering, pain, illness, old age, and death in a never-ending separation from God that leads to the eventual end of the races and their world.

In these End Times come upon the world, ruled by secular powers, the races play a deadly game of unending strife, war, and instability that compounds the interplay of cosmic and solar forces and aggravates the revolution of the elements of the world with which they are involved.

If the races but knew that the state of material existence is an illusion – a dream with no real existence of its own, as evidenced by the condition of death that terminates life and reality, which is brought on by the absence of authentic Spiritual Life sustained by God and the Creative Powers of Light – humankind would recognize God and place their trust in Him. For God is Light, and He would help and assist the human race to grow into a true realization of the Spirit as a Real World where life never ends.

Once again, if I may be of any personal service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Very truly yours in Light+,

Gene

February 23, 2019: Chapel Readings

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Prophecy of the New Covenant: Chapter 91, “Testament of the New Covenant” (pp. 1002-1011)

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Mundaka Upanishad of the Vedic Scriptures:

Bright but hidden, the Self dwells in the heart.
Everything that moves, breathes, opens, and closes
Lives in the Self. It is the source of love
And may be known through love but not through thought.
It is the goal of life. Attain this goal!

The shining Self dwells hidden in the heart.
Everything in the cosmos, great and small,
Lives in the Self. It is the source of life,
Truth beyond the transience of this world.
It is the goal of life. Attain this goal!

“Unconscious Learning and Symbols”

Nonconscious Learning From Crowded Sequences

“Can people learn complex information without conscious awareness? In the present study, we explored whether participants could learn a sequence of stimuli that they could not consciously perceive. Implicit learning—learning without awareness of what has been learned—has been the focus of intense investigation over the last 50 years. However, it remains controversial whether complex knowledge can be learned implicitly. In the research reported here, we addressed this challenge by asking participants to differentiate between sequences of symbols they could not perceive consciously. Using an operant-conditioning task, we showed that participants learned to associate distinct sequences of crowded (nondiscriminable) symbols with their respective monetary outcomes (reward or punishment). Overall, our study demonstrates that sensitivity to sequential regularities can arise through the nonconscious temporal integration of perceptual information.”

“Universal Essenes Understood Spiritual Allegory”

“They [the Essenes] interpreted the Torah and other Hebrew scriptures in an almost exclusively spiritual, symbolic and metaphysical manner, as did the Alexandrian Jewish philosopher Philo. They also had esoteric writings of their own which they would not allow non-Essenes to see. But even more objectionable to the other Hebrews was their study and acceptance of “alien” scriptures–the holy books of other religions–so much so that an official condemnation was made of this practice. In light of this we can say that the Essenes were perhaps the first in the West to hold a universal, eclectic view of religion. Celibacy was prized by them, being often observed even in marriage, and many of them led monastic lives of total renunciation. They considered their male and female members–all of whom were literate–to be spiritual equals, and both sexes were prophets and teachers among them.

“They believed that the sun was a divine manifestation, imparting spiritual powers to both body and mind. They faced the rising and setting sun and recited prayers of worship, refusing upon rising in the morning to speak a single word until the conclusion of those prayers. They did not consider the sun was a god, but a symbol of the One God of Light and Life.

“They believed that miraculous cures were natural extensions of authentic spiritual life. They would wear only white clothes as a sign that they worshiped God who is Light and were clothed by him in light. … The disciples of Saint Thomas in India had a similar rule, only wearing white clothes in worship.” ~Abbot George Burke

Interpreting Scripture

The Universal Essenes, as well as other spiritual groups, did interpret scripture from all religions in a spiritual way. But what does that mean? Doesn’t everyone interpret religious writings in a spiritual way? Sadly, no, they don’t Many interpret them literally. They act as if they are reading a newspaper or history book rather than scripture.

Scripture is almost always written in the form of allegory, parables. Most ancient myths fall into this category also. They are written this way for several reasons. One is that human languages do a poor job of explaining the spiritual. They are simply not designed for it. So those who have spiritual experiences are forced to describe them in allegory. A second reason is that they wanted people who were not ready for a spiritual awakening to remember these teachings until they were. Making them into allegorical tales made them easier to remember. Third, they wanted to make it difficult for evil and materialistic people to understand the truth, so they hid it.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from the Prophecy of the New Covenant: Chapter 91, “Testament of the New Covenant” (pp. 971-979)

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Testament of Levi:

I , Levi, . . . when I was feeding the flocks, the spirit of understanding of the Lord came upon me, and I saw all men corrupting the way, and that unrighteousness had built for itself walls, and lawlessness sat upon towers. And I was grieving for the race of the sons of men, and I prayed to the Lord that I might be saved. Then there fell upon me a sleep, and I beheld a high mountain, and I was upon it. And behold the heavens were opened and an angel of God said to me, “Levi enter.” And I entered from the first heaven, and I saw there a great sea hanging. And further I saw a second heaven far brighter and more brilliant, for there was a boundless light also therein. And I said to the angel, “Why Is this so?” And the angel said to me, “Marvel not at this, for thou shalt see another heaven even more brilliant and incomparable. And when thou hast ascended thither, thou shalt stand near the Lord, and be His minister, and shalt declare His mysteries to men, and proclaim concerning Him Who shall redeem Israel. And through thee and Judah shall the Lord appear among men, saving every race of men. And from the Lord’s portion shall be thy life, and He shall be thy field and vineyard, and fruits, gold, and silver.

“Solar Power”

The Sun in various ionization bands. Credit: David H Brooks, Ignacio Ugarte-Urra, Harry P Warren.

Dec 31, 2018

Do convection currents and vibrating magnetic field lines create the dynamic phenomena observed on the Sun?

“According to the thermonuclear fusion model of the Sun, hydrogen in its core is crushed with so much force that it is converting to helium, releasing tremendous amounts of energy. The core’s temperature is thought to be 15 million Celsius, with compressive strain greater than 340 billion times Earth’s atmospheric pressure. A common metaphor used to illustrate the process is to imagine millions of hydrogen bombs exploding all at once within a confined space: 700 million tons of hydrogen are said to be converted into helium every second.

“The Sun’s surface is known as the photosphere. Above that surface layer is the chromosphere, and above that is the corona, the outermost part of the Sun’s visible atmosphere. The photosphere averages 6000 Celsius, while the corona can be as much as two million Celsius! This is the great mystery that has encumbered researchers. How is it that the hottest region of the Sun begins at an altitude of 4000 kilometers and extends over a million kilometers from its surface without any significant temperature drop?”

“Infinite Life of Immortal Spirit”

“Not all things can have a life merely at second hand, that would give an infinite series. There must be some nature which, having life primary, shall be of necessity indestructible, immortal, as the source of life to all else that lives. This is the point of which all that is divine and blessed must be situated, living and having being of itself, possessing primal being and primal life, and its own essence rejecting all change, neither coming to be nor passing away.

“Whence could such a being arise or into what could it disappear: the very word, strictly used, means that the thing is perdurable. … In such an entity this primal and eternal Being cannot be dead like stone or plank: it must be alive, and that with a life unalloyed.” Plotinus

Infinite Life

Plotinus doesn’t just make spiritual sense with his statements here, he is also logical in the intellectual sense.

If there is a factory that produces paper cups, and truckloads come out of the factory daily, it stands to reason that there must be something other than the cups themselves inside the factory. There must be machines forming the cups and probably people operating the machines. The temporary cups can’t make themselves.

All material beings are temporary like those paper cups. And while we can certainly see that people, animals, and even plants are capable of reproduction, that is only part of the story. That reproduced body of matter must be given life. There must be a source for that life, a permanent Being that is always alive and therefore always generating life energy. At some point, the first being of matter had to be created and given life by a being that had life, but was not material. That being cannot be material because everything material changes and dies. This infinite life that is the source of all other lives is God.
