WEEKLY MESSAGE: September 25, 2019

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

September 25, 2019

With this, the Ninth Saying of The Secret Sayings of Jamil, we conclude Volume I of Codex V of the Sacred Teachings f Light. Our goal is to publish the final volume, Volume VII, which will contain the final three Sayings – Sayings 25, 26 and 27 – by next year’s Community Convocation. As you know, these three Sayings were delivered earlier this month at this year’s annual gathering.

The Ninth Saying

“In the final age of the world God shall issue new laws and statutes directly from his mouth which shall come forth out of a new sun as a heavenly King to govern the world. And a new priesthood will be established. And in this age all knowledge will be given unto the sons of the earth and every man shall be anointed by the hand of God who shall reveal Himself.

“And upon completing his reading The Man said: ‘We are reminded by these words of the writings of the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs, with which we have familiarized ourselves in earlier conversations. We are assured by Jamil that the New Age of Light will be accompanied by the existence of the Great Sun of God come as Messiah which shall illuminate the minds of men. Let me quote from the Testament of Levi which refers to the coming of the messiah: “‘And his star shall arise in heaven as of a king. Lighting up the light of knowledge as the sun the day, and he shall be magnified in the world. He shall shine forth as the sun on the earth, and shall remove all darkness from under heaven and there shall be peace in all the earth. The heavens shall exult in his days, and the earth shall be glad, and the clouds shall rejoice. And the knowledge of the Lord shall be poured forth upon the earth, as the water of the seas.’”

“And addressing the Companions The Man said: ‘Each of you must ponder these words carefully in your heart. For with the realization that God has sent the Messianic Sun as announced by Jamil, each becomes a priest of God in the new age. The old world has passed away. Each is obligated to follow the Light of God come in the Image of the Sun and to listen to the Word within that Light.” We are as warriors who must now put down our swords and begin planting the seeds given us by our Lord. Peace has come to the world.’

“With these words The Man stood up. And holding the codex over his heart he looked up at the sun and breathed softly. Then he said unto them: ‘With this reading some of you will fall away and return to the world. For to live the Teachings is difficult. Yet, if only one remains, the Teachings will live so that others may hear them. God’s blessings upon each of you.’ And the Companions were perplexed and said to one another: ‘What does he mean by saying some of us will return to the world. We are all pledged to the school.’

“But the Man knew in his heart that many would abandon him. And he walked slowly down the trail away from the temple with his head bowed to the ground.”

These are very prophetic words. Contemplate them.

We will resume next week with Volume II and Saying Ten.

Once again, if I may be of any personal service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.

September 21, 2019: Chapel Readings

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from Prophecy to the Races of Man, Chapter 65: “The Mystery of Illumination” (pp. 416-423).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel According to John 3:

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council.

He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.” In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

“You are a teacher in Israel,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?

I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still your people do not accept our testimony.

I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

“The Science Delusion” : Rupert Sheldrake’s banned TED TALK

On January 12th, 2013, Rupert gave a talk entitled The Science Delusion at TEDxWhitechapel. The theme for the night was “Visions for Transition: Challenging existing paradigms and redefining values (for a more beautiful world).” In response to protests from two militant materialist bloggers in the US, the talk was later taken down by TED and placed in a special corner of their website.

Since then the TALK has been seen by over half a million viewers and raised all kinds of questions, charges, and debates. All of it is collected on a page at www.sheldrake.org.

“Transformation of Matter, Not Destruction”

Destruction of Matter

“’Will matter be destroyed or not?’

“The savior said, ‘All natures, all formed things, all creatures exist in and with one another and will be resolved into their own roots. The nature of matter is resolved into its nature alone. Whoever has ears to hear should hear.”

“Peter said to him, ‘Since you have explained everything to us, tell us also, what is the sin of the world?’

“The savior said, ‘There is no sin, but you create sin when you mingle as in adultery, which is called sin. That is why the good came to be with you, to enter the essence of each nature, and to restore it to its root.’He continued, ‘That is why you become sick and die, for you love what deceives you. Whoever understands should understand. “Matter gave birth to a passion that has nothing like it and came from what is contrary to nature. Then there arises a disturbance in the whole body. That is why I said to you, ‘Be of good courage,’5 and if you are discouraged, still take courage in the diverse forms of nature. Whoever has ears to hear should hear.’” ~The Gospel of Mary

The Matter with Matter

We can assume from the name of this Gospel that it is Mary Magdalene asking the questions.

The question of whether or not the complete destruction of matter is at hand is a common one in religion and spiritual schools. Why is this question asked? Because in most mystery and spiritual schools, and in the early teachings of Christianity before they were altered by politicians, it was taught that matter was a mistake. God did not create matter, the fallen angels did. In Gnosticism, they say is was a being called the Demiurge who did it. That is really just another name for the fallen angels. Because matter was not created by God, it is a substandard creation. It constantly changes. The living beings in this dimension have to eat each other to survive. Not at all a place of God.

On hearing that about matter, it was natural for people to assume that God would want to destroy it in the same way that we want destruction of a cancer tumor. But Satan is the destroyer, not God. God deals with such problems differently.

WEEKLY MESSAGE: September 18, 2019

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

September 18, 2019

And these are the words of the Eighth Saying:

“The world, to become enlightened, must be governed by enlightened man. Since the enlightened are destined to emerge from the Community, the responsibility of the fellowship is universal. Therefore, let all members of the Community teach that the human race was not destined to serve the unenlightened or to strive for transitory things. And by this teaching the race will seek enlightenment. And because the Community shall teach a luminous philosophy to all who seek it, the human race shall seek out the Community. Therefore, let the Community build a School of Light to instruct the whole family of nations and races equally. The proper education of humanity in eternal truths is a social endeavor that will teach first men, then nations, to be mutually cooperative, putting aside all politics and commerce so that a higher philosophy can be lived for the overall good of the world and the cosmos. For as is man so shall be his governments. Therefore, let all men strive to enlighten their fellow man and build a world civilization in community practicing the arts and sciences of human and spiritual regeneration for the eventual transformation of the material world into Light.

“And upon completion of the reading The Man was asked by a Companion where the school would be built and when. And The Man answered that within the space of two years the fellowship would leave the Andes for America.

“And another of the Companions said: ‘The Saying reminds me of the ideas of Plato and his Government by the Philosophical Elect. His theme was that by education the political and social ills could be eliminated.’And another said: ‘It reminds me of the ideal state, or the Golden Age of Confucius, when truth would dominate the minds of men and do away with all evil.’ And still another said: ‘Or the concepts of Lao Tzu who taught that men can only govern themselves when they adhere to the One Law of the principle called Tao. And once they understand the law the government of the state becomes unnecessary.’ And to these statements The Man responded thus: ‘Many great minds have envisioned world peace and the need for men to become enlightened. With the coming of the Sun of Righteousness man has direct help from God. It is now up to man to decide for he has the means for his enlightenment at his disposal.’

“And this statement brought a response from another of the Companions. And he said: ‘The prospect of changing men’s minds by education is most noble, to say the least. But I am wondering just how effective we can expect to be in the world. To alter man’s form of government through education would involve training untold numbers. Can we expect to build a school of such magnitude in our own lifetime?’ And to this The Man said: ‘It would not be necessary to train so many at the school. If we trained men of influence, the Teachings of the school would spread to others without them having to come to the school. The idea is to spread the Teachings at the proper place and time. It might very well take many generations for our concepts to make an impact on thinking man. But time means very little.’ And another said to this: ‘If the world is threatened with extinction, time should mean much to the world. From what I have heard we haven’t much time left!’

“And the Man replied before continuing with the reading: ‘This is true. The problems facing the school are no less than what faced Socrates, Plato, Confucius, Lao-Tzu, Jesus and all the other men of destiny. Yet, it is a unique situation. The challenge is real. But enlightenment through education must begin on the individual level with us here on these heights. After this will come the Community.’”

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from Prophecy to the Races of Man, Chapter 61: “A Prophecy to the Races of Man” (pp. 388-394).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel of John 14

[1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
[2] In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
[4] And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
[5] Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
[8] Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
[9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
[10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
[11] Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
[12] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
[13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
[14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.
[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
[17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
[18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
[19] Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
[20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
[21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
[22] Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
[24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
[25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
[26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
[27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
[28] Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
[29] And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
[30] Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
[31] But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

A tippe top inversion PHOTO: © Peter Warlow (1978)

“On the surface, the idea that the sun could reverse its apparent direction and be seen to move from west to east might seem bizarre in the extreme, but exactly this is what several ancient traditions claim to have happened in the past.

“In the 5th century BCE, the Greek historian Herodotus of Halicarnassus noted that the Egyptians of his day recalled four inversions of the sun’s trajectory: “Four times in this period (so they told me) the sun rose contrary to his wont; twice he rose where he now sets, and twice he set where now he rises …”

“The earliest known Roman geographer, Pomponius Mela (fl. 43 CE), probably relied on Herodotus when he concurred that the Egyptians “also preserve a written tradition that, for as long as there have been Aegyptians, the stars have changed their courses four times, and the sun has set twice already where it now rises”.

The Greeks had mythological traditions of their own to the same effect. According to a popular myth, Zeus had caused the sun to retreat back towards the east during the reign of the legendary – but quite possibly historical – Atreus, king of Mycenae. ”

“Raiment of Light from Watching the Sunrise”

“Every morning the Sun rises and beings from the invisible world ask you: ‘Did you read the page of the book fixed for today?’ The Sun is a book, and God writes something new in it every day.

“Light is a sign of love. When the sun shines on us that shows that God is sending us light. …

“Beautiful is the raiment of every living being who rises early before sunrise and works with love. If one does not rise early and does not work, he will be ordinary and poorly attired. All living beings are expected to do some work. The more conscious they are, the greater is the effort that they must apply. …

“When you want to benefit from the energies of nature, receive them directly from the source and not indirectly.” ~Biensa Douno

Sun Gazing at Sunrise

Sun-gazing (or sungazing) has become popular in recent years. In many cases, however, people are doing it without really knowing how or why. Most are gazing strictly at the physical sun. While that can have some benefits for the physical body and the brain-mind, It doesn’t really help the spirit and soul. To awaken and develop the spirit and soul requires gazing at the spiritual sun rather than the physical. Unfortunately, Douno rarely says that in his writings. He simply capitalizes “Sun” so you know he is not talking about the ordinary, physical sun. But if you don’t know why he is doing that, you might not understand his point.
