“Body as a Tool of Mind and Soul”

 

 

“The body is but the machine used by the mind. If it be weak, the power of our thought may be largely used and almost useless in resisting its weakness. The mind is then the workman endeavoring to carry out his design with an imperfect tool. Eventually, this defective tool may derange and destroy entirely the workman’s power.

“Strength of mind and body is the cornerstone of all enjoyment and success. The weak body enjoys little or nothing. Our bodies are reservoirs of force. … What is most desirable for all to know is, how to retain the most of that force during our waking hours and if possible to increase it; because this force has a commercial value in dollars and cents. The weak and exhausted body is neither the body for ‘business’ or pleasure, and all business is best done when it is a pleasure to do it.” ~Prentice Mulford

The Body as a Tool

Yes, we can think of the body as a tool for the mind. It might be more accurate, however, to think of the body and mind more like partners who need to work together. Mulford notes that a mind cannot do its job very well with a weak or sick body. It is also true that the body can’t accomplish much with a damaged or weak mind.

But it doesn’t stop there. While Mulford may only be interested in the body and mind, there is also the spirit and soul to be considered. The spirit and soul certainly don’t need the physical body to function. They may use it, however, to help with certain things that they wish to do.

It is not true, however, that the body can exist without a spirit. It can exist without a soul, or at least without the divine soul which is the soul most people mean when they talk about the soul. We also have a mundane soul that is linked to the body. The divine soul, however, is very loosely connected to the body and will leave if the body and mind commit serious acts of violence such as murder.

So in short, we are complex beings and we function best when all the parts work together in peace and harmony. Body, mind, psyche, spirit, and soul all need to be friends and partners. When they are not, or one part is too weak or damaged to properly function, the whole being suffers.

Reno Spiritual Wellness Expo

 

 

Cosolargy had a table at the annual Reno Spiritual Wellness Expo held October 18th to 20th. The table was divided into two sections: one for Steamboat Healing Center and Spa, and one for Cosolargy. It would be difficult to gauge how effective our participation in this event was for getting the word out about Cosolargy, but more Light Body Profiles were requested over the weekend than during a typical month. Below are some photos from the event.

The Tenth Saying (Part 4 of our series)

“There was a short silence as each contemplated The Man’s words. Then the Third Mariner spoke, asking: ‘You said that when one practices the techniques for a period of time one becomes more sensitive to the light and the fire of the Sun. Is it natural, then, for those who have been in The Community for a period of time to become less able to consume the Sun by means of the techniques, or are they more able to apply the Sun techniques for longer periods of time?’

“And The Man answered saying, ‘If you are living in the country removed from the effects of city life, as you have undoubtedly noticed on this ship when at sea, the Sun becomes less brilliant. You are able to absorb greater amounts of sunlight. If you look at the Sun in the confines of the cities, and mingle with people, you will find that you will be able to take less sunlight. You will become so sensitive that you will be in conflict with those people. Therefore, Sun techniques are better applied when you are isolated from the cities of commerce in which the economic way is dominant in the lives of the people. When you are with Companions of Light, where the atmosphere is one of Light, and away from the negative effects of the cities, you will find you can take a larger amount of Light. You are in harmony with nature, as you have found during our voyages. You are able to communicate with living things of the sea and of the air. This will increase as we continue the voyage. On our first voyage years ago, tens of thousands of fish came to the ship, surrounding it for hundreds of meters on all sides. It is easier to communicate with God when you are at sea, removed from civilized life and crowded cities.

“‘Man’s body is limited, as is his brain, nervous system, and circulatory system. Man is not able or free to do anything he wants to do or thinks he can do. His computers and advanced technology have moved him into a new world of speed. The ancient religions were developed by people who moved at a slower pace. Man no longer uses horses or walks as principal means of transportation. His machines move him about the world at incredible speeds. He has even managed to penetrate outer space by means of machines and computers. Indeed, his machines are able to accomplish things which his mind and body are not capable of. Therefore, if Man is to have a clear understanding of God, his philosophy of life and his religions must-needs project him into other worlds and other dimensions. This will place new demands upon the brain and the human organism which it is not designed to handle. As a race, Man is going to be forced to evolve on the physical level. He will be forced, if he is to survive, to develop higher brain power, a more refined nervous system and a more sophisticated human body. The techniques we are applying are forcing our bodies and brains to grow. The growth begins with highly evolved receptors in the retinas so the brain and the nervous system can handle larger amounts of direct sunlight. Thus, the alteration of the species begins in the eyes which, working with solar energy, expand our human vision. I am sure you have all noticed, your vision changes to a certain degree. You see more, your increased peripheral vision permits you to see shades of color around people.

“‘The beginning of Man’s advancement must take place with the baptism of fire, and the absorption of solar energy into the system which can nourish and sustain not only the body, but a higher kind of body. It is inevitable that our bodies are going to become more transparent, and become more light than physical. This is our heritage as men and women. And the Teachings of Light, come through the message of Jamil and the appearance of the Messianic Sun, are preordained, fulfilling religion come at the last and final days of the old world which is going to be passing through a baptism of fire of its own. The world is to be burned away. Something new will emerge – it will be more akin to light than to matter. By these means man will inherit spiritual life.’”

This is an interesting part of the Tenth Saying, as it deals with the evolution of Man as a species and his world. On the way to this new state of being are many steps and stages. Today we are aiming to sustain our Community and maintain and project our image in the world. Part of that work is the restoration of the Cathedral Church of the Americas and the Monument to Human Spiritual Rights at our Consecrated Sanctuary. This is a grand project, and one which cannot be ignored. By now you have received my letter dated October 12th, which concerns this project and your part in it. A member of the Chancellery staff will be reaching out to you in the coming days to discuss details of your participation. As always, I thank you for your support.

October 26, 2019: Chapel Readings

 

 

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Gospel of Truth:

The gospel of truth is joy to those who have received from the Father of truth the gift of knowing him by the power of the Logos, who has come from the Pleroma and who is in the thought and the mind of the Father; he it is who is called “the Savior,” since that is the name of the work which he must do for the redemption of those who have not known the Father. . . .

Since the perfection of the totality is in the Father, it is necessary for the Totality to ascend to him. Therefore, if one has knowledge, he gets what belongs to him and draws it to himself. For he who is ignorant is deficient, and it is a great deficiency, since he lacks that which will make him perfect. Since the perfection of the Totality is in the Father, it is necessary for the Totality to ascend to him and for each one to get the things which are his. He enrolled them first, having prepared them to be given to those who came from him. . . .

Those whose name he knew in advance were called last, so that the one who has knowledge is he whose name the Father has pronounced. For he whose name has not been spoken is ignorant. Indeed, how shall one hear if his name has not been uttered? For he who remains ignorant until the end is a creature of forgetfulness and will perish with it. If this is not so, why have these wretches no name, why do they have no sound? Hence, if one has knowledge, he is from above. If he is called, he hears, he replies, and he turns toward him who called him and he ascends to him and he knows what he is called. Since he has knowledge, he does the will of him who called him. He desires to please him and he finds rest. He receives a certain name. He who thus is going to have knowledge knows whence he came and whither he is going.

“Viewing & Absorbing the Sun”

 

 

As I write this, we have just crossed the September Equinox and a number of people I know have posted about it on social media, with comments such as it being an opportune time to receive healing energies from the Sun.

I’ve just returned from the annual Cosolargy convocation in Reno, Nevada USA, where the Sun featured prominently in our discussions and activities. Over several consecutive mornings I joined large gatherings of members at elevated sacred places in the high desert country to partake in respectful ceremonies, as we viewed the rising of the Sun. It manifested itself slightly differently to us on each occasion and, even when a smoky haze drifted in from fires in a neighbouring state one morning, the large orange solar orb did not fail to impress us with its majesty.

“Light Mind that Awakens the Soul”

 

 

“Now you understand that the powers of light are good and the beginning and the end are unveiled to them. Whatever they do is with good judgment. For this reason they allow the enmity.”

“The light mind comes and finds the soul and assumes it into wisdom. He will become for it . . . the bonds and members of the body. He will loosen the mind of the soul and release it from the bone. He will release the thought of the soul from sinew and bind the thought of sinew in sinew. He will release insight of the soul from the vein and bind insight of sin in the vein. He will loosen the counsel of the soul and release it from the flesh and so bind the counsel of sin in the flesh.”

“And the new man reigns by love, by faith, by perfection, by patience, and by wisdom. Yet his king is the light mind, who is king of all. He reigns over it as he wishes. The members’ sin is imprisoned, yet the light mind is king, and an affection often rises in the body.” ~The Kephalaia

Powers of Light

The phrase “powers of light” can be interpreted in two ways. It can refer to powerful beings of light who exist in higher realms of spirit and consciousness. It can also refer to the powers of light itself, both physical and spiritual.

In both cases, the powers of light are good. The beginning, the end, and everything in between is revealed to them. It is not a matter of time, although they do exist outside the limitations of time. It is that they know truth and wisdom. They know that spirit came before matter. They know that matter is a mistake. God didn’t create the realm of matter. It was created by the Demiurge, or the fallen angels.

Light Mind Comes

The light mind is not the ordinary mind that is linked with, though not the same as, the brain. The light mind is the spiritual mind that operates through the soul, not the body. The Kephalaia says it “finds the soul and assumes it into wisdom”. That is an interesting way to put it. What the spiritual light does is awaken the soul. We hear many people refer to a spiritual awakening these days, but few know what it really means. Many think that simply becoming aware that there is more than just the material world means they have awakened. That is an important first step, but it isn’t true awakening. Only when the soul is awakened by spiritual light, what is called in the quote the Light Mind, is one truly awakened.

“Discovering the Electric Sun – Part 1″

In the twentieth century, pioneers of plasma cosmology began to identify the crucial role of electric currents in interstellar and intergalactic space.

The “electric universe” hypothesis extends plasma cosmology into domains that were, at best, only partially touched by its pioneers. This paper will present a brief summary of the “electric Sun,” a core theme of the electric universe. Additionally, we will offer pointers to the recent interdisciplinary contributions of others toward a new understanding of electricity in space.

Memorial for Jacklynn Lord

 

 

A memorial service for past Consociate Jacklynn Jean Lord (February 2, 1940-October 11, 2019) was held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Walton Funeral Home Chapel. The service of remembrance was presented by her two daughters, Taumie Borecky and J. Michelle Norris.

In attendance from the Church were Gene Savoy Jr., Robert and Francine Petrovich, Elizabeth Reece, Barbara Whitney, Bruce Kanzelmeyer, and Stephan and Shinobu Fuelling.
