November 30, 2019: Chapel Readings

Reverend Canon Robert Petrovich

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from Second Prophecy to the Americas, Chapter 35: “On the Existence of Divine Reason” (pp. 231-238).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Testament of Levi:

Then shall the Lord raise up a new priest. And to him all the words of the Lord shall be revealed; And he shall execute a righteous judgement upon the earth for a multitude of days. And his star shall arise in heaven as a king. Lighting up the light of knowledge as the sun the day, And he shall be magnified in the world. He shall shine forth as the sun on the earth, And shall remove all darkness from under heaven, And there shall be peace in all the earth. The heavens shall exult in his days, And the earth shall be glad, And the clouds shall rejoice, And the knowledge of the Lord shall be poured forth upon the earth, as the water of the seas; And the angels of the glory of the presence of the Lord shall be glad in him. The heavens shall be opened, And from the temple of glory shall come upon him sanctification, with the Father’s voice. And the glory of the Most High shall be uttered over him, And the spirit of understanding and sanctification shall rest upon him in the water. For he shall give the majesty of the Lord to His sons in truth for evermore; And there shall none succeed him for all generations for ever. And in his priesthood the nations shall be multiplied in knowledge upon the earth, And enlightened through the grace of the Lord: In his priesthood shall sin come to an end, And the lawless shall cease to do evil. And the just shall rest in him. And he shall open the gates of paradise, And shall remove the threatening sword. And he shall give to the saints to eat from the tree of life, And the spirit of holiness shall be on them. And he shall give power to His children to tread upon the evil spirits. And the Lord shall rejoice in His children, And be well pleased in His beloved ones for ever.

“Solar Fire and Ice”

The Climatic Effects of our Sun and its Brown Dwarf Companion

Among the many articles that landed in my in-box this week was a piece originally posted on the website of Electroverse.net, speculating that the record number of days without sunspots this year (“spotless days”) predicts a Grand Solar Minimum that will lead into another mini-ice-age – to start in the 2030s and unfold over the ensuing decades.

Over the past few years I have been following this theory, and six months ago in issue #23 of my online magazine Australian Esoteric, I included a brief summary of some of my blogs on the matter, under the heading Insights into the Prediction of a Mini Ice Age. (I drew a lot of information from the Russian theoretical astrophysicist Valentina Zharkova, whose work is readily available on You-Tube). While such a scenario – already dubbed the Eddy Minimum (after the late John Allen “Jack” Eddy) – may well still eventuate, I have received some advice from scientist Jamal Shrair setting me straight on this.

“Unity of Spirit Through Inner and Outer Development”

“Now consider diligently how we can acquire and possess the most inward exercise of our spirit in the created light. The man who is well adorned with the most virtues of the outward life, and has risen into nobility and divine peace by inward practices, he possesses the unity of the spirit, enlightened by supernatural wisdom, flowing fourth in generous love toward heaven and earth and lifting itself up by its reverence and its merits, and flowing back into that very ground, the most high Unity of God, from which all things proceed. For each creature, according to whether it has received more or less from God, has more or less of ascending love and inward tendency towards its origin, for God and all His gifts invite us into Him, and through charity and the virtues and resemblance, was designed to enter into Him.

“Through this loving inclination of God, and His inward working to the unity of our spirit, and further through our glowing love and the pressing of all our powers together into the very unity in which God dwells.” ~John of Ruysbroeck

Well Adorned With Virtue

While most people will interpret “virtues” as meaning social things, I think it is spiritual virtues that are meant here. Social virtues like being polite, kind, helpful and so on are all good things. We should all have a virtuous social life. But a virtuous spiritual life is something different.

Spiritual virtue can be summarized in a few words: put the soul first. In other words, when life forces you to choose what is good for the material world, the physical body, the mind, or the soul, the soul should be priority number one.

WEEKLY MESSAGE: November 27, 2019

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

November 27, 2019

The Tenth Saying (Part 8 of our series)

“And now it was mid-afternoon and the seafarers all went up on deck to look at the Sun. After this, they took food and drink. And when they had returned to the table, the Third Mariner said: ‘We have spoken of two types of people: Men and women of the Earth and men and women of the Spiritual Worlds, those dominated by Darkness and those dominated by Light. If our mission in The Community is to gather together the preordained, those willed by God to form a Community of Light in this world, what is our mission in relation to other men and women of the world, the people who are dominated by Darkness and people of the Earth who are trapped by the more sensual feelings of lower vibrations? Is there hope for these people, as well as for those who are preordained to follow the path of Light? Is there a place in The Community, is there work in The Community, for these people.’

“Turning to the seaman and his fellow Companion of Light, The Man said: ‘Let us suppose there are two people, a man and a woman, twenty years of age, very much in love. They marry under the canopy and the marriage is consummated. The woman becomes pregnant and a very healthy, beautiful child is born and received into the church. Now, let us suppose that there is an old man, a bachelor, ninety years old, and an old maid eighty-eight years of age who are past the age of child bearing. And the woman says, “How be it that I cannot have a child? How be it that God favors the young people with children and not me?” An observer might say God is unjust: He gives children to the young and denies the old. Jesus said, “pick up your cross and follow me.” We know from our own teachings that to benefit in The Teaching we must dedicate our life freely to this work; there can be no halfway. If there were another way that would allow all people to become enlightened without applying The System, if there were a way for old people to have children, perhaps this would have been divined or willed by a higher being than ourselves. But as far as we know, and from what we have been taught by Jamil, unless individuals dedicate their entire beings to The Community, and unless they receive the Light of the Sun of Righteousness into their being, there can be no salvation for them. This is a very hard teaching; but remember the first Christians who died in the Coliseum dedicated themselves to the Way of Christ without question; they believed in what their Master told them.

“‘Today, people of the modern world do not have the same dedication. They see no reason to give up their lives simply because of a belief. Now, if men and women in times past gave up their lives for their belief, if holy prophets told their followers that they must devote their lives entirely to the Light to be saved, then I would assume that the same applies to us today. We do not understand the workings of God and we do not understand all of the workings of nature. If you cut a vein and let all your blood flow out, you do indeed die. There may be people who would criticize this fact. Why would God let a poor man die just because he can’t stop the blood from flowing out? I don’t know why that is, but I do know that if you do not regenerate yourself with Light you die. It is that simple.

“‘We will be criticized for our beliefs by a large segment of humanity that is naturally opposed to any exclusive order. But it is fundamental that some beings are immortal and others are not. Some would say that all people have an equal right to divinity, just as did Jesus and holy prophets of times past, even though they don’t work for it. Such people want to be redeemed by the dedication and effort of others, just as the old couple who want a child reserved for the young. This cannot be.

“‘Life and the times change. Each age is different. The laws of Cosolargy are universal. I am sure the laws of Cosolargy were in effect many, many centuries ago under a different name, but because of the changing times in the world, Cosolargy, or The Way, must adapt to a new age. The Sun of Righteousness has appeared in the heavens. Those of times past did not have that sun to work with. Why did God give those of us of today the Sun of Righteousness and not to ancient man? Perhaps God did give it and it was rejected. I believe one of the main problems with humans is they are always judging God. They question His Ways. They argue among themselves. They find it difficult to sacrifice. They find it difficult to give up the ways of the world. They are selfish. They desire illumination and immortality without striving for it. And when they don’t get it, they blame God.

“‘To understand religion and the teachings of holy prophets, the mind and the spirit have to be disciplined. We need to study the lives of holy teachers, and especially the life of Jamil. Each of these stressed the Light, community and, above all, the need to break away from the world with its emphasis on material ways. These holy teachers are models for us to follow, and that is perhaps why they have come into the world. Why have all the teachers, Jamil, Jesus, and many others, said there is a need to free humanity? Humanity does not have the power to free itself.

“‘In order for the brain to free itself, it must have energy to liberate itself. Everything in the world is regulated, motivated, by a system that is organized and uses energy. All living things are nothing more than an organized colony of individual units that burn energy, whether it is food, or water, or oxygen, or whatever it may be. This church teaches that Man requires spiritual energy by which to run his spiritual faculties. You cannot nourish the Spirit, you cannot bring into being a spiritual Consciousness, by reading books or by simply eating food that nourishes the mind and body. Spiritual life requires spiritual energy by which to manifest and function. People are trapped in matter; to liberate themselves they must rise out of matter, and to do that requires energy. The source of that energy is the Sun. And within that energy of the Sun is the Word of God, which is knowledge enabling man and woman to have a dialogue with Him. Individuals learn how to use solar energy and apply The Word by The System we are teaching in Cosolargy. It was taught in its original form by the great inspired holy ones of times past who brought into being the inspired religions. But people rejected those teachings because they were difficult.

“‘Many will ask, “Why do I have to be different from other people?” Jamil, the messenger of God, taught that we must be different if we are to be redeemed from the Earth. We are changed by consuming the food given by God in a certain manner. To give you an example, there is a passage in Corinthians, Chapter 11, verses 27 to 30 , which reads thus: “Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.”

“‘What is meant by this? It says, to rephrase it, whoever eats of the bread and drinks of the Lord unworthily shall be guilty or undeserving of this ritual. Therefore, let one be very careful to examine himself before he drinks of the cup and eats of the bread, because whoever eats and drinks unworthily, drinks and eats himself to damnation, which means a form of extinction. And, continuing, all you have to do is look around you, because many people who are taking the Lord’s bread and drink in vain are not only weak, but sick and dead, or dying. Now, we know that the New Testament is filled with allegory. And this is one example, probably one of the most important in the whole text of the New Testament. We know that a person is not going to get sick by eating bread and drinking wine at communion; there must be another answer here.

“‘We know that in the early days of the Christian Community, before the formation of the orthodox or organized Church, the catechumens, the beginners in the teaching, received the bread and the wine in a ceremony; the breaking of the bread and the drinking of the wine symbolized a communal meal. But as they advanced and were introduced into the Church and became initiates, fellows received into the body of the Church, they then took a higher form of communion. This is why Paul says in the New Testament, “Let the young in the Church drink milk and let those that grow eat the meat of the Teaching.”

“‘In the early Christian Church, people were being taught to look at the Sun. It was a grave thing to look at the Sun if one was not doing it in the correct way. That is what is meant here. The New Testament is steeped in allegory and there are no inspired teachers today who possess the oral tradition given by Jesus to interpret it. Therefore, we have people rationalizing, applying their logical minds to holy writ and arriving at supposed answers which people are following.

“‘A man or woman who goes to a church on Sunday is not going to be saved, according to the True Teachings of Christ; that is apparent. A man, a woman, must change their lives in order to be able to take the Light of the Sun worthily without harm. This Teaching of the Church of Cosolargy regarding the techniques of the Sun is a very basic teaching. Unless you have faith in God and unless you believe in Christ, and unless you have been received into the invisible Church of God with His Blessing, you are unable to take the Sun into your eyes without negating. It is not possible. I have seen a large number of people looking at the Sun and I have seen the aftereffects.

“‘There is something precious and something unique about taking the Sun in Community. We do have, even though we are small in number, a very special grace that is bestowed upon us by Jamil, our patron. He has a personal interest in us. And he is accompanied by all of the holy teachers of times past; they are all working for the fulfillment of this Church. What we need to do is to apply the Teachings properly.

“‘Needless to say, any world religion must be universal. It must appeal to people of all races and all creeds and all languages and all beliefs. And it must be suited to them that they may follow it. But for individuals to truly live the life of The Teachings, they must abandon the world that is geared to the economics of life and make The Teachings and The Community the dominant way of life.’”

For those of you in the United States, I wish you and your families a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Once again, if I may be of any personal service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Very truly yours in Light+,

Gene

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from Second Prophecy to the Americas, Chapter 34: “On the Need of a Religion of Light” (pp. 226-230).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the First Letter of John:

This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched (concerning the word of life—and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and announce to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us). What we have seen and heard we announce to you, too, so that you may have fellowship with us (and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Christ). Now this is the good-news message we have heard from him and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth. But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another.

Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments. Whoever obeys his word, truly in this person the love of God has been perfected. I am writing a new commandment to you which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. The one who says he is in the light but yet hates his fellow in the community is still in the darkness. The one who loves his fellow resides in the light. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world (the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance produced by material possessions) is not from the Father, but is from the world. And the world is passing away with all its desires, but the person who does the will of God remains forever.

“When the Sun Spins in the Sky”

The crowds at Fátima wait for a miracle on Oct. 13, 1917.

Last Sunday was the anniversary of an event known as The Miracle of the Sun that occurred at Fatima, Portugal, a hundred-and-two years ago. Lest you think the event was isolated or insignificant, I would like to mention other cases of similar Solar Miracles that I have explored and written about in the past, including: Medjugorje in Bosnia; Georgia, USA; Misamis Oriental, Philippines.

My personal experience had led me to understand that, once you come to see the Sun is not a ball of fire in the sky, but an intelligent sphere of plasma having its origins in higher dimensions, you are able to establish a rapport with it if you wish. If you are not familiar with the four examples below, take a few minutes to read over the facts and see if you begin to sense there is more to the majestic Solar Orb than you’ve previously acknowledged.

“Music of the Spheres Singing to the Soul”

“Many early instruments had seven strings, and it is generally conceded that Pythagoras was the one who added the eighth string to the lyre of Terpander. …

“The Pythagorans believed that everything which existed had a voice and that all creatures were eternally singing the praise of the creator. Man fails to hear these divine melodies because his soul is enmeshed in the illusion of material existence. When he liberates himself from the bondage of the lower world with its sense limitations, the music of the spheres will again be audible as it was in the Golden Age. Harmony recognizes harmony, and when the human soul regains its true estate it will not only hear the celestial choir but also join with it in an everlasting anthem of praise to that Eternal Good controlling the infinite number of parts and conditions of being.” ~Manly P. Hall

Seven or Eight Strings

Halls gives credit to Pythagoras for added the eighth string to a lyre that had always, like several other stringed instruments, had seven. He gives no reason for doing so, however. Permit me to do it for him.
