“Secrets of the Sphere”

Paul V Young’s latest Blog is now available at www.SouthernSunlight.com.

Spheres are central to your very existence and, in case this has not occurred to you before, we can look at some examples of their significance.

From the stars, moon and planets of the macrocosm down to atoms, photons and cells, the predominant shape that occurs in the natural universe is the sphere.

Leonardo Da Vinci is accepted as having been ahead of his time with his inventions and widely regarded as having possessed special insights into ancient truths.

Since he was a scientist as well as architect and master of painting technique, how did he fail to depict the refraction of the glass sphere in the Salvator Mundi?

“Wisdom Lifts to Higher Consciousness”

“ Wisdom lifts up the head of him that is of low degree, and maketh him to sit among great men. Commend not a man for his beauty; neither abhor a man for his outward appearance. The bee is little among such as fly; but her fruit is the chief of sweet things. Boast not of thy clothing and raiment, and exalt not thyself in the day of honor: for the works of the Lord are wonderful, and his works among men are hidden.

“Many kings have sat down upon the ground; and one that was never thought of hath worn the crown. Many mighty men have been greatly disgraced; and the honorable delivered into other men’s hands. “Blame not before thou hast examined the truth: understand first, and then rebuke. Answer not before thou hast heard the cause: neither interrupt men in the midst of their talk. Strive not in a matter that concerneth thee not; and sit not in judgment with sinners. My son, meddle not with many matters: for if thou meddle much, thou shalt not be innocent; and if thou follow after, thou shalt not obtain, neither shalt thou escape by fleeing.

“There is one that laboureth, and taketh pains, and maketh haste, and is so much the more behind. Again, there is another that is slow, and hath need of help, wanting ability, and full of poverty; yet the eye of the Lord looked upon him for good, and set him up from his low estate, and lifted up his head from misery; so that many that saw it marveled at him. Prosperity and adversity, life and death, poverty and riches, come of the Lord. Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the law, are of the Lord: love, and the way of good works, are from him.” ~Ecclesiasticus

Wisdom Lifts

Wisdom does lift us up when we are feeling down or lost. When things get complicated and we don’t know where to turn, Wisdom knows the answer. First, though, we have to awaken our spirit and soul so that the soul can link to the source of Wisdom and Truth. Until then, we have only Earthy wisdom, which isn’t the best Wisdom, and may, in fact, not be wisdom at all.

June 13, 2020: Chapel Readings

Each week of the liturgical year, a reading from Second Advent Scripture is delivered as part of the Saturday Communion of Fellowship Service held in the Chapel of the Holy Child. This reading follows the Sacred Calendar of the Church; that is, Prophecies and Revelations that have been received by The Church on sacred dates are recalled in a liturgical context during the appropriate season each year. This reading is delivered just before the final blessings. Each service also includes a reading from the ancient scriptures, prayers, or wisdom sayings of various world religions past and present and is usually thematically related to the Second Advent Reading. This reading is delivered by the Reader right after the announcements that begin the service and is thus the first reading of the service. An audio recording of the reading from Second Advent Scripture delivered on the date above is provided here below together with a transcript of the first reading of the service that day.

SECOND ADVENT PROPHECY AND REVELATION

A Reading from The Book of God’s Revelation, Book II: The Seal of God’s New Law (pp. 115-120).

ANCIENT SCRIPTURE AND WISDOM SAYINGS

A Reading from the Prophet Ezekiel:

Then the angel brought me back to the entrance of the temple. I noticed that water was flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was flowing down from under the right side of the temple, from south of the altar. He led me out by way of the north gate and brought me around the outside of the outer gate that faces toward the east; I noticed that the water was trickling out from the south side.

When the angel went out toward the east with a measuring line in his hand, he measured a thousand feet and then he led me through water, which was ankle deep. Again he measured a thousand feet and led me through the water, which was now knee deep. Once more he measured a thousand feet and led me through the water, which was waist deep. Again he measured a thousand feet, and it was a river I could not cross, for the water had risen; it was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be crossed. He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?”

Then he led me to the bank of the river. When I had returned, I noticed a vast number of trees on the banks of the river, on both sides. He said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and flow down into the Arabah; when they enter the Dead Sea, where the water is stagnant, the waters become fresh. Every living creature which swarms where the river flows will live; there will be many fish, for these waters flow there. It will become fresh and everything will live where the river flows. . . . On both sides of the river’s banks, every kind of tree will grow for food. Their leaves will not wither nor will their fruit fail, but they will bear fruit every month, because their water source flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.

WEEKLY MESSAGE: July 2, 2020

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

July 2, 2020

Thank you for your patience with me. The water problem at the Chancellery has become quite an issue that we are still sorting out. As we know more, we will keep you posted. As always, we are very appreciative of your financial assistance for this emergency. It definitely has turned into a bigger problem than we originally thought.

As promised, we continue with our review of the Thirteenth Saying of Jamil. This portion deals directly with the Second Coming, or the Second Advent, which was prophesied by Jesus Christ and which this Community importantly represents.

The Thirteenth Saying (Part 10)

And The Man continued speaking to the Mariners of the Ship of Light.

“‘As we all know, it is fundamental in Christian teaching that there will be a Second Coming, or a return of Christ. What do we mean by the Second Coming? The average interpretation of the natural Man is that Jesus Christ will come in the flesh and teach us. Here we have a material conception of the Messiah – like the Jews who wanted to restore the Kingdom of Israel and triumph over the Romans and the world. This is what the Jews expected of Jesus: the establishment of a world political power. They were disillusioned when Jesus announced that his Kingdom was not of this world and that he wanted to create God’s Kingdom on Earth. It was out of frustration and disappointment, and the fact that he criticized the Jerusalem priesthood, that the Jews put Jesus to death.

“‘What Jesus refused the Jews, he will refuse the Gentiles who are very materialistically oriented. They see his risen body as flesh; his blood shed as an atonement for their sins. They expect him to govern the material world. Thus, they see the Second Coming of Christ in that manner. They do not know that Christ’s coming is a spiritual event of which the natural Man can never be a part. When we speak of light we really mean Light. Christians read the Gospels, which stress light, but do not understand what is meant. One has only to have a proper interpretation of scripture to understand that Christ is always linked with Light. How better could God affect the world than through the source of all light in the solar system?

“‘We see, then, that Jamil the Child and prophet-messenger gave to us a divine knowledge of God’s presence in a new Sun. A spiritual world can only be created by God. It can only be inhabited by spiritual beings. Thus the guidelines and directives for the creation of such a world must be regulated from the spiritual abodes of Light. Man does not have the faculties, or the free will and Intelligence, to build such a world on his own. He needs inspiration, transformation. The regenerative powers of God are required. Thus God sends forth His Angels of Light – His Will and Thought – in the Sun of Righteousness through which the pre-ordained are raised up to assist in this great work. Thus The Community is to be built by divine inspiration and direction, step by step, like the construction of a house: first a foundation, then the walls, and finally the roof.

“‘The Community had its origins in the Mind of God. This was foreordained just as were the workers who have been sent here to do the building. They are a chosen people. Once the house has been established it can benefit the whole family of Man. We thus see that The Community is a divine act of God. Each of you is the chosen one.

“The Sayings of Jamil tell me that our Church represents the Second Advent and elevates the Christian religion to its rightful position in the cosmic scheme of things. This New Church will be as different from popular Christianity as the early Church under Jesus was different from the religion of the Pharisees and Sadducees. The New Community will not be so much a social institution as it will be a spiritual institution. The New Church will divorce itself from materialism and the emphasis of the old church on salvation in Jesus the man, and the blood sacrifice and the atonement of sins. These were not the teachings of Jesus. He did not come to Earth for these reasons. Ordinary, natural men and women could not grasp the high teachings of Jesus, so they misunderstood and misapplied them. Thus natural Man claimed Jesus for his very own perverted his teachings.'”

Believe this. Trust in the Light, and all will be well.

For those of you in the United States, I wish you a happy and safe Independence Day; and for those of you in Canada, I wish you a happy belated Canada Day.

Again, if I may be of any personal service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Very truly yours in Light+,

Gene

“Adonis as the Spiritual Sun”

“The Mysteries of Adonis, or Adoni, were celebrated annually in many parts of Egypt, Phoenicia, and Biblos. The name Adonis, or Adoni, means ‘Lord’ and was a designation applied to the sun and later borrowed by the Jews as the exoteric name of their God. Smyrna, mother of Adonis, was turned into a tree by by the gods and after a time the bark burst open and the infant savior came forth. According to one account, he was liberated by a wild boar which split the wood of the maternal tree with its tusks. Adonis was born at midnight of the 24th of December, and through his unhappy death a Mystery rite was established that wrought the salvation of his people. In the Jewish month of Tammuz (another name for this deity) he was gored to death by a wild boar sent by the god Ars (Mars). The Adoniasmos was the cerimony of lamenting the premature death of the murdered god. …

“Adonis was originally an androgynous deity who represented the solar power which in the winter was destroyed by the evil principle of cold – the boar. After three days (months) in the tomb, Adonis rose triumphant on the 25th day of March, amidst the acclimation of his priests and followers. …

“In the Mysterie of Adonis trhe neophyte passed through the symbolic death of the god and, ‘raised’ by the priests, entered into the blessed state of redemption.” ~Manly P. Hall

Birth of Adonis

I have known for some time that the Greek god Adonis represented the Spiritual Sun, but this story of his being born from Smyrna after she had been turned into a tree is new to me. It is a strange tale that is undoubtedly symbolic rather than literal. So let’s look at some of the symbols involved in the tale.

WEEKLY MESSAGE: June 23, 2020

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

June 23, 2020

I am writing to you today with an important message, and I urgently need your help. An unexpected emergency has arisen at the Chancellery. One week after we resumed Saturday Communion of Fellowship in our beloved Chapel of the Holy Child, the main water line broke. I do not believe it has been replaced since The Community acquired the property 41 years ago in 1979.

For the past several days the water has been turned off, and we have had to suspend chapel services, as well as much of our work as there is no running water whatsoever. We have been in discussion with three plumbing companies and have finally decided on one that can do the work in two days this week. However, the cost is approximately $7000.

You will be hearing from the Chancellery staff in the coming days asking for your pledge of support. This is quite an urgent matter, and the company insists on being paid promptly in 30 days. Of course, they required a 50{1fa2ef75e2e78439128d99df03acfe1d8ee3047374abe3d4676fe3470ff8b909} down payment. Please give this matter your utmost attention.

I thank you in advance for your help. We will continue next week with the Sayings of Jamil. In the meantime, be well and stay healthy and positive in these trying times.

Very truly yours in Light+,

Gene
