Pannuches Meal Rite

The 133rd Pannuches Meal Rite was held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

The 134th Pannuches Meal Rite was held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

The 135th Pannuches Meal Rite was held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

Jubilee Sunrise Divine Services were held in Sanctuary on the Sunday mornings following the Pannuches Rite.

 

Christmas-Epiphany Vigil
The Twelve Days of Christmas are observed by tradition in the Second Advent Church. Beginning Friday, December 25, and continuing through the morning of Epiphany, January 6, Sunrise Divine Services were held in Consecrated Sanctuary each morning at the Church of New Epiphany during these days of special blessing, weather permitting.

The traditional Christmas Day Service of Communion, Candle Lighting, and Remembrance was suspended due to the Vigil schedule, as were Friday and Saturday Chapel Services.

 

Children’s Blessing
The annual Children’s Blessing was held at the Rectory-Abbey on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 12:00 NOON to 2:00 PM. While not a part of the Sacred Calendar of the Church, this Blessing is held each year during the Christmas-Epiphany Vigil. Children, parents, and a limited number of other members of the Community, who were present by special invitation due to social distancing requirements, gathered for the ceremonial blessing of the children of the Community.

Epiphany Eve Banquet
The annual Epiphany Eve Banquet and festivities regularly scheduled at the Rectory-Abbey on January 5th each year was suspended for 2021 due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements.

 

Epiphany Day
This fortieth anniversary of Epiphany in the Second Advent Church was a day of special blessings and revelation in the Church and the day on which the Church commemorates the True Baptism of Jesus by God the Father. The Message given on January 6, 1981, is related in the Prophecy of the New Covenant:

“On this hallowed day of God’s Appearance, bountiful blessings manifest to the Holy Ones of Light of the Church of the Second Advent founded by His Word. To those unified in Community and holding to The Law, God sends forth the Comforting Spirit of His Image. As the Church has been restored, God will restore those blessings given to the First Church—now in apostasy—and make sacred those Holy Days that are kept in remembrance by the old Churches, but which are not alive with God’s blessings.

“In commemoration of this Day let The Community gather together once each year in remembrance and in fellowship. God will baptize all assembled in the Spirit of His Holiness. God gives an unmistakable Sign from Heaven in the New Sun as a mark of His Advent and Divine Presence. Let all behold the Signs of God manifest in the Heavens and know that their New Ministry is by God’s Authority, and that He has come to Judge the world. This Day is a day of confirmation of God’s Appearance, a day of blessing to strengthen the Good against the Powers of Darkness, and to empower them to teach.”

Life is Hard

Yes, life is hard. But as the song says, “I never promised you a rose garden”. Life on Earth, life in the material world is rarely, if ever, always pleasant. That is actually a good thing. If life here was always great, we would have no desire, no incentive, to seek a better life, a life of spirit. But even though life is hard, we can’t let it get us down and keep us gloomy all the time. We have to seek reasons to smile, reasons to have joy. So yes, life is hard, but you don’t have to be hard. Life is full of sorrows, but you don’t have to be trapped in sorrow.

This message was delivered by the Head Overseer during today’s Communion of Fellowship Service in the Chapel of the Holy Child.

In these unprecedented times, and one of the darkest weeks in our nation’s history, let us pray for our beloved country, the United States of America, which still remains a beacon of hope and inspiration for people all around the world. Let us pray that it remains so and continues to fulfill its spiritual destiny.

I also ask that we pray for our nation’s leaders — that they may be given the strength and wisdom to do what is right, not just with empty words and lies but with righteous deeds. Let us pray for our new president that he may begin to heal the nation’s wounds and start the renewal of the American promise for all.

Bless us who have gathered here today in fellowship and peace. Bless all peoples and all nations everywhere. Enlighten the ignorant; humble the prideful and the arrogant; strengthen the weak; heal the broken; and alleviate the suffering of those in need.

May our spirits be filled with your most holy Word, and may we, as your instruments and servants, exemplify your goodness, your truth, and your love. We pray this in Your Name.

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 8)

“After saying these words The Man grew silent. And after a space of time, the fourth mariner spoke. ‘Would you say that the collective consciousness of the world, of humanity as a whole, is at this moment unable to affect the sun in a positive way, that it is actually affecting it in a negative way?’

“And The Man answered him with a strong voice. ‘When we use the term consciousness, we mean spiritual Consciousness, the mind of the spirit, the intelligence of the spiritual person. Man has two spirits. By means of the Teachings of this institution, the spirit of Christ enters into the Light spirit, which generates a Soul. To have a Soul means a person is reborn in possession of a Christ Beingness, a Christ Form and a Christ Consciousness; which is to say, in possession of a Consciousness of God. When Man is reborn in such a way, he assumes his original Form, Being and Consciousness, even though he exists as a natural man or woman in the natural world. He is restored in the Image of God and can understand God’s Word spoken in the Light of the spiritual Sun. His Dark spirit is inflamed with this Light, and hearing God, he no longer listens to the Dark side of his nature, that unnatural man, for he becomes the supernatural Man as he was in the beginning of the Creation before the Fall.

“‘Therefore, those few spiritual persons who are following the Way to immortality by applying the spiritual science of Cosolargy are joined together into a new Order of God’s, True Church, seeking to restore the world and the sun to a healthy state, and this entails a transformation.

“‘While, according to modern physics, energy can be transformed into matter and matter can be transformed into energy, we move a step further and say that energy can be transformed into intelligence, and intelligence into energy. Thus we say that energy came from Consciousness, which is, in reality, a fifth-dimensional state. We therefore move beyond energy and matter, beyond velocity and motion, and beyond time into a state or level of consciousness which represents a higher level.

“‘Everything is kept in order by a law, and this law must have been created by intelligence. An intelligence superior to that of Man must exist. Since physics does not acknowledge Consciousness, or intelligence, as an integral part of the universe, it does not consider all of reality, and therefore it is a limited science.

“‘Consciousness, or superior intelligence if you prefer, is an integral part of the universe which overrides matter, form, being, motion, and also time. Possession of Consciousness distorts time as we know it. For example, a person who has developed Consciousness in this System can project that Consciousness into the sun and beyond, thus changing his whole concept of time: for he is able to bridge distances that enable him to be involved in space, time, and motion; he has an abundant use of energy, and thus a greater effect on form and matter.

“‘And again, if we leave out intelligence and information, we are only seeing part of the picture. What happens to the universe when scientists create a thermonuclear reaction? What happens to the universe when Man misapplies the energies of the universe? Are not the laws of the universe affected? To what degree we do not readily know, but I would suggest that the ill health of the sun can be traced in part to such events. The modern world of science has misapplied the energy of nature, not by any bad intention or evil thought, but out of ignorance. Man has rejected the concept of divine intelligence regulating the universe. Man believes he is the highest authority, answerable to no power outside of himself and his laws. That is why he uses these powers when forced to in the event of war. He also abuses nature out of greed for power or economic advantage over individuals and nations or peoples.’”

Children’s Blessing and Luncheon Held

The annual Children’s Blessing was held at the Rectory-Abbey on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. While not a part of the Sacred Calendar of the Church, this Blessing is held each year during the Christmas-Epiphany Vigil. Children, parents, and a limited number of other members of the Community, who were present by special invitation, gathered for the ceremonial blessing of the children of the Community. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, attendance at the Children’s Blessing this year was by invitation only.

The Blessing in past years was accompanied by an afternoon tea for the children. This year the event was held at noon and was designed as a luncheon rather than a tea. The traditional breaking of the piñata was also done away with this year, just as the making and breaking of the gingerbread chapel was also done away with in years past, to avoid encouraging too much sugar and sweets for the children.

The Blessing of the Children this year was performed by Dea. Radheka Savoy for the first time. In past years this service had been officiated by Reverend Mothers Sylvia Ontaneda de Savoy, Ileana Isfan, and Elizabeth Reece.

Lunch this year was green salad and shepherd’s pie prepared by Radheka Savoy and Noriko Roy. The dessert was provided by Claudia Grady. All three are mothers of children present at the event.

Because the annual Epiphany Eve banquet traditionally held at the Rectory-Abbey was cancelled due to the pandemic and Santa did not make an appearance on that day, Santa appeared for the children as a special guest at the luncheon. He arrived bearing gifts at 2:00 PM to close the festivities.

Time’s Toggle Switch Moves Back-and-Forth

As more evidence comes to light about the real potential of the future to affect the past (known as retro-causality), researchers in different fields are exploring the ways we can put this information to practical use. While simultaneously being informed that time-travel may be less of a fantasy than we have previously been taught, as well as the advances made by physicists in understanding that the ‘cause-precedes-effect’ rule does not apply in the subatomic world, we should also be mindful of the dynamics of Karma.

I have written before about the idea that the Future Already Exists and how we might gain Foresight into it, but recently I have been prompted to look deeper into ways that we might usefully employ the reconnection of future/past timepoints to our practical advantage – without violating the Law of Karma. Then, over the past week or so, I came across several relevant pieces of news in quick succession.

“No matter in which phase of life one may be, young, adult, old, rich, poor, educated, or ignorant, they must be awakened. Who must awaken them? God must. Why? Because God is the Sun of Life. When this Sun awakens man, it will open his eyes, so that he may see and understand the world correctly ad work in it.

“If you warm yourself on heat produced by wood, or on heat produced by coal, the effect on you in the two cases will be different. If you are sensitive, when you burn coal you will pass through all the stages it has passed; when you burn wood, you will experience the stages the oaks have passed through and feel them like living beings. The black color of the coal will produce quite a different effect on you from that which burning wood will. Contemporary culture must rid itself of the use of coal. That is why the future scientists must harness solar energy. We must provide for ourselves heat from the Sun. When we reach the stage of utilizing solar heat and energy, we shall be the cultured people humanity is expecting. At the present stage we cannot be called cultured people.” ~Biensa Douno

Must Awaken

Yes, we must all “Awaken”, but few even understand what that means. I’ve covered spiritual awakening on this blog and on the Cosolargy blog in depth, so I’ll just cover it briefly here. Simply becoming aware that matter is not all that exists and the world of materialists is a failed paradigm is not a spiritual awakening. It is the first step of awakening, but many other steps must follow it. Only when the dormant soul has been awakened from its coma-like sleep can we say that we are truly awakened. But all of us must awaken if we are to gain eternal life in the spirit. It isn’t something just for monks and fanatics. All must awaken sooner or later, so it is best to choose sooner.

This portion of the commentary of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil discusses the all-important topic of origins – where did we come from as spiritual beings before our descent into matter. For those of you who are relatively new to The System, I suggest reviewing Text 5 of the Cosolargy Papers – “The Science of Generated Existence.” (As a matter of fact, I just reviewed it myself.)

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 7)

“And the First Mariner spoke again asking, ‘Could Consciousness be considered as being the unifying field or force which unites all forces, and at the same time is the cause of all forces?’ The Man answered him saying, ‘We know from our theological studies that from Consciousness comes Being and Form. Form in its original state issued out of Being and was composed of pre-existent matter, which means a non-physical matter. It seems that there is a field around the physical body which is an organizing field and could be the outline of the pre-existent spiritual Form and should not be confused with Consciousness. Thus, knowing that Form issued out of Being, and Being issued of Consciousness, we go back to the first cause of Being and Form, which is Consciousness. This leads us to a spiritual, or non-material explanation of existence.

“Originally, Man existed prior to his material state. This means Man descended from a pre-existent form, that is, one that pre-existed the material form, into material form. Man was an immortal who dwelt in a higher world. He took on a mortal form, which was denied its original source of energy or at least only had access to a lesser source of energy. Therefore, there had to be a pre-existent world, a proto-world, in which Man existed as a pre-existent or proto-Man, an archetypal Man of great magnitude. This is contrary to the theory of secular science which holds that Man evolved out of a lower form, another animal form, fighting in a world of eternal struggle for survival of the fittest. This concept leads us back to your question on Consciousness and the unifying field; that is, a non-material envelope which sustains the material body. This idea is contrary to secular scientific thought inasmuch as it cannot be proven by material science.

“We know from scientific disciplines that a viewpoint is very important in determining reality, and that said reality can change based on one’s viewpoint or what is seen by an observer. For example, if one follows material teachings as secular scientists, seeing life only as material, then one is seeing a distorted and limited view of life. If one sees life from the spiritual view, one has an expanded concept of life. This means that Man is an animal only from a scientific point of view, but not necessarily because he is. The religionist perceives Man to be a spiritual being first, and a material being secondly. Scientists see the material being and nothing more. By this kind of reasoning, we can see that a person who has a materialistic point of view cannot possibly look at the sun with beneficial results. Only spiritually-oriented persons can achieve this effect through generated Consciousness – we know from our theological formulas that out of Consciousness evolved Being, and from Being evolved Form. Thus, in regaining our lost, pre-existent image of Consciousness, Being, and Form, we must return to the source of our origin. This requires a spiritual outlook. Any material outlook, like that of the material mind-body, is incapable of transcending the material world.’”

We are fast approaching the start of the Christmas-Epiphany Season. We of the resident Community will, of course, observe the thirteen-day sunrise vigil at the Sanctuary which commences on Christmas Day and continues through the twelve days of Christmas culminating on Epiphany Day, January 6th. Unfortunately and regrettably, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, The Community’s annual Epiphany Eve Banquet will not be held this year. We look forward to resuming our full set of festivities next Season. In the meantime, I send you my best personal regards and wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy Epiphany. We all look forward to a better and blessed 2021.
