Advent Day Vigil (February 2-6)

To commemorate the fifty-ninth year since the birth of the Sun of Righteousness and the dawning of God’s Second Advent, Sunrise Divine Services were held at the open-air Church of New Epiphany from  Saturday, January 30 through Saturday, February 6, 2021.

* * *

The Advent Day or New Year Vigil was first celebrated liturgically by The Church in 1982. The events of the original Vigil are recorded in “Prophecy on the Revelation and the Opening of the Seals,” chapter 90 of the Prophecy of the New Covenant. During each of the ten days of the original Vigil in 1982, Bishop Savoy received and recorded spiritual information on the building of the Second Advent Church. The significance of this original Vigil to The Church is suggested by a synopsis of the information impressed upon the spirit of Bishop Savoy in those days.

On the first day of the Vigil he recorded the impressions that would be included in The Canon of The Church.

On the second day he recorded the prophecies of Renewal and Transformation and the days and seasons to form part of the Sacred Calendar of The Church.

On the third day Bishop Savoy recorded words concerning The Liturgy of The Second Advent Church.

On February 2, Advent Day, he wrote down the prophecies of things to take place on earth before the final Advent of God, who would make his full Appearance in the Heavens following the Judgment in the End Times of the earth.

On the fifth day of the Vigil Bishop Savoy recorded the means to be applied within the Church to increase God’s Blessings upon it.

On the sixth day, he wrote down all the prophecies pertaining to the matter of the Anti-Christ.

On the seventh day he recorded the means by which the Second Advent Church was to assist God in redeeming the races of the earth.

On the eighth day, Bishop Savoy wrote down impressions to be included in the Litany of The Church in establishing peace on earth.

On the ninth day he received impressions on the means to be used to protect the Church from profanation from within.

On the tenth and final day of the Vigil, Bishop Savoy was told that he would receive the Revelation to the Seven Churches upon the Seven Mountains of Metal of The Sanctuary on the day of Second Advent Easter, April 18.

The Most Right Reverend Gene Savoy, First Disciple of The Child, witnessed the original manifestation of the Sun of Righteousness on February 2, 1962, in Yungay, Peru. The events surrounding the Birth of The Sun of Righteousness on this date in 1982 are described in the Second Advent scriptural text Jamil: The Child Christ. Chapter 27 of this text speaks of the New Sun’s Birth:

All spent the day and night in prayer, fasting and mindful of the events predicted by the Angel. And when the second day of February dawned, the sun shone brightly in the heavens. And they did return to the tomb, and there awaited the promised event. And at noon, when the tomb cast no shadow, behold! a great halo formed around the sun. They stood breathlessly looking in wonder and awe. Then a circle of rainbow colors, like crystal spheres, blue at the center and red at the outer edges, encircled the sun. In the heart of the radiant globe a white Cross appeared. And they feared the Last Day was upon them. And they trembled, forgetting the promise of the Angelic Host, and the message of The Child. For an hour the heavenly blaze burned in the firmament. And The Man looked upon the sun, and the image of Jamil appeared across the sun, radiant beyond words, his countenance bright and his hair white as snow. And The Child was holding the Sun in his arms, over his heart. And The Man saw a gate to another world. Again he saw the four Guardian Angels around The Child, and on the right hand side of The Child he saw the image of Jesus and the Apostles witnessing his appearance. And he heard the voice of Jamil as music, speaking to the Light of his Eternal Soul, saying: “I am resurrected.” And the disciple knew that The Child was redeemed from the earth. . . .

And the risen Child said: “The incarnation of God the Father is come to the world through the Sun of Righteousness, healing and sustaining the human family; and restoring the Life of Righteousness. As the seed of man enters the womb of woman and life cometh forth, so shall a heavenly Seed enter the spirits of men and women, and a new birth shall occur. And the life thereof shall be of God. And death shall not claim this new Body of Light and the Spiritual Consciousness therein. And the Christ transmitted in the Sun of Righteousness, and indirectly on all living things, down to the smallest atom and particle, shall incarnate within the soul of mankind. And every man and every woman shall know that they are one with the Godhead, divine and immortal.

Later in chapter 27, the text refers to the coming of The Comforter that took place on February 6, eight days after the passing of The Child:

And on the fourth day of February, the sun and six planets conjoined in Aquarius. And The Man saw great signs in the heavens. And the Anti-Christ was manifesting. Whereupon, his body and mind and soul suffered turmoil. And the struggle continued through the sixth day, it being the eighth day following the passing of The Child Christ. But The Man prayed to God, looking upon the New Sun and asking the Light to assist him. The Child Christ heard him and sent an Angel to comfort him in his dreams. And the Darkness lost its power over him.

Thereafter, The Man began the Great Work east of the Andes.

“Liminality”

Crossing the Threshold

Have we now progressed sufficiently to cross the threshold from lower to higher consciousness and redeem our right to mingle once again with those demi-gods or alien entities? We may be straddling that hazy borderland of liminality right now. As the ancient Egyptians would have put it, we may be in a “state of becoming.”

It is odd, when you think about it, that we are all very familiar with the word subliminal but not with its parent word, liminal. When I check the Oxford Dictionary, Funk & Wagnalls and Roget’s Thesaurus on my bookshelf, the word Subliminal appears – defined as “adj, Psychol: perceived below the threshold of consciousness.” Liminal, on the other hand, has no entry in any of these.

Subliminal, then, means below that threshold of consciousness which we know (thanks to Freud and Jung) as the subconscious or unconscious. We hear the term sometimes used in relation to a sneaky kind of marketing known as subliminal advertising.

For those unfamiliar with the word liminality, it is used these days mostly in an anthropological sense, and stems from the Latin word līmen. My Wheelock’s Latin text book has this entry: līmen, līminis, n., threshold (liminality, subliminal, eliminate, preliminary).

The concept of Liminality is not difficult to grasp: it’s that moment in between two boundaries, the transition between one stage and another. It can be an event such as dusk or dawn, or a place like an entranceway. In human terms, it could be a point of ritual, a rite of passage, an initiation into a group or a transition in life. For our conscious awareness, it lies in that twilight zone between sleep and wakefulness.

For centuries, mystics have thought of themselves as being “dwellers on the threshold,” working towards a breakthrough to the other side in a process that is sometimes described as “death before dying.” There are some naturally gifted psychics who can communicate with otherworldly beings, but most of us have lost the ability to perceive other realms. There are several possible reasons for this loss – one of which is often cited as being the calcification of our pineal glands, resulting in the atrophy of our sixth and seventh senses.

“One Reality of Mystics and Spiritual Adepts”

The One Reality

“Of all those forms of life and thought with which humanity has feed its cravings for truth, mysticism alone postulates, and in the persons of the great initiates proves, not only the existence of the Absolute, but also this link: this possibility first of knowing, finally of attaining it. It denies that possible knowledge is to be limited (a) to the sense impressions, (b) to any process of intellection, (c) to the unfolding of the content of normal consciousness. Such diagrams of experience, it says, are helplessly incomplete. The mystics find the basis of their method not in logic but in life: in the existence of a discoverable ‘real,’ a spark of true being, within the seeking subject, which can, in that ineffable experience which they call the ‘act of union,’ fuse itself with and thus apprehend the reality of the sought Object. In theological language, their theory of knowledge is that the spirit of man, itself essentially divine, is capable of immediate communion with God, the One Reality.” ~Evelyn Underhill

Mysticism Postulates

Mysticism isn’t about speculation, of listening to the idea of others, even those giving themselves the title “guru,” but about discovering truth for ourselves. If you pay attention to spiritual groups on social media, you know they are always putting down religion because. According to them, religion is about believing in someone else’s experiences, while spirituality is about having your own. They then go on to prove with that very statement, as well as almost everything else they post, that what they believe and practice is what they have gotten from others, not their own knowledge! Real mystics don’t do that, nor do real spiritual students. And while we are at it, putting down the beliefs of others is also not the behavior of real mystics or spiritual adepts. The fact that we have leaner some things others haven’t learned yet does not make us superior beings, and those who think it does are feeding overblown egos.

Senses and Intellect

Mysticism does deny that knowledge is limited to the physical senses and the intellect. Higher levels of knowledge are found in higher levels of consciousness that are beyond the limits of intellect. The highest levels are spiritual in nature and only accessible to the spiritual faculties. Real spiritual schools teach this as well. True knowledge, or Gnosis, comes from the awakened spiritual faculties, not from the intellect, and certainly not from reading books. Books can point you in the right direction, but the truth must be experienced by each individual. The one reality is not looked up in any book.

WEEKLY MESSAGE: January 13, 2021

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

January 13, 2021

I hope you enjoyed the holidays, such as it was this season. Let us now resume our examination of the Seventeenth Saying of Jamil with The Man continuing with his teachings to his disciples. You may want to review the previous portion which was sent on December 30th.

The Seventeenth Saying (Part 9)

“‘I might add that in the world today, a person may say, “I am beyond religion. I no longer believe in organized religion. I have a personal relationship with God, based on my self-awareness.” And the person prides himself or herself on this concept. This is all well enough if one is measuring oneself up against the secular or popular religions of the world, but one cannot claim one’s individuality is superior to a spiritual organization inspired of God by revelation, an organization which possesses a teaching that enables adepts to project themselves beyond the limitations of the space-time continuum into the sun and beyond. Such adepts are indeed part of a True Religion. A True Religion cannot be confined only to our planet; on the contrary, it has to go beyond, or it is not religion. Therefore, religions that restrict themselves to sacrifices and dogmatic worship and ritual and rites, and pray for victory in war, or pray for material wealth and long life, are indeed not spiritual. They are materialistic religions.

“‘The sun has been radiating a somewhat constant amount of energy for many years. The result on earth has been reflected in Man’s way of life. For thousands of years, transportation was limited to the use of animals and the carts or mechanical devices animals could pull; communication was limited to Man’s ability to personally carry messages or send them by means of mirrors, smoke, or sound. The uses of technology and mechanization were quite limited in comparison to our present age when, all of a sudden, life seems to have greatly accelerated. Man is growing more, thinking more, accomplishing more technologically than ever before. The advances in the last hundred years have been tremendous. We have communication by means of telephone, telegraph, and satellite. We have radio and television, the automobile, jet engines, and rockets; in fact, we have gone beyond our world into space. All this has happened in the last fifty or one hundred years. [Please bear in mind that this discussion took place in 1979 before the advent of the even more sophisticated technology of which we are all aware.]

“‘Why have we projected ourselves so far scientifically in the last fifty to one hundred years? It is because we have learned how to use material energy – create machines to do the work for us. The source of this sudden increase in our ability to transform intelligence and information into mechanical or material energy is a different solar energy. But again, I point to the fact that as we draw closer to a great use of solar energy and matter, we are going to come into greater uses of intelligence because, as we know, Form came out of Being, and Being came out of Consciousness. The more complicated our use of Form and matter becomes, the more we are drawn into Being and Consciousness.

“‘For example, as we begin to apply solar energy, the intelligence factor of that energy and the information locked up within it are going to affect Man’s surrounding. The more Man applies energy, the more intelligence becomes available to the human mind and psyche. It is all around us. It is manifesting to us. In other words, as we release energy into the atmosphere, we are releasing intelligence into the atmosphere which has to affect this living cell we call the planet. If you think about it a moment you will see the point that I am getting at.

“‘The ancient mystics and philosophers of divine thought were well aware of the dangers of misapplying energy or the laws of nature for material gain. Indeed, they were forbidden to make any practical application of their knowledge of divine laws. This is why Jesus never wrote down his Teachings. That’s why the Sacred Teachings of the masters were always guarded by the disciples of the masters and never survived their deaths. A secrecy was always maintained. The great miracle schools feared that Man would begin to learn the secrets of the universe and apply this knowledge which would destroy him.

“‘The mythological references to sunken continents, to lost cities and worlds, to Atlantis lost beneath the seas, are credited to the misapplication of power which, as a consequence, destroyed the peoples concerned. Perhaps many of these stories are true, while others are allegories that reveal hidden truths. We know that with the abuse of nature’s laws by modern Man, with the pollution of the ecosystem, and especially with Man’s stark materialism and emphasis on gain at the expense of human dignity, and the denial of Man as bearer of the Spirit of God, the earth and the sun are being adversely affected, resulting in an unstable solar system that could end life as we know it.

“‘Scientists speak about billions of suns and stars in a vast material universe existing in space. They scoff at the uniqueness of Man. They believe that with the multitude of suns and worlds in many galaxies, there must be other kinds of life. That is certainly a logical, rational conclusion, but it is not based on any scientific proof at all. On the contrary, science has not discovered life beyond Earth. Theory not based on experience or absolute proof is dogma, and scientific dogma is no different than religious dogma – it is all theory until proven.

“‘Man is unique in all the universe. Truly unique. He is made in the Image of God. And the vast expanding universe which began with release of energy and intelligence was the cause of what we see around us. It is ever-expanding and will continue to expand in all directions forever, never ceasing until it is transformed back to its pre-existent state of Consciousness, Being, and Form. Our School, as a divine institution of learning, is dedicated to teaching Man how he may regenerate himself into a higher being with the assistance of God. Until he accomplishes this, he will continue to adversely affect the universe. The adepts of our School are dedicated to repairing the damage to the world and the cosmos through the sun, not in a haphazard manner but on an orderly basis according to a sacred and revealed Way.’”

Again, if I may be of any personal service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Very truly yours in Light+,

WEEKLY MESSAGE: January 5, 2021

HEAD OVERSEER’S WEEKLY MESSAGE

January 5, 2021

Epiphany Eve, the 12th day of Christmas

As we conclude the Christmas-Epiphany Season, I send you new year’s greetings and wish you a happy Epiphany. I’m sure you are looking forward to 2021, as I am. It feels good to write 2021 on this message and say goodbye to 2020.

As we begin this year with renewed enthusiasm, we will be rolling out several new projects which I will tell you about as we work our way through Winter and enter Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. We were somewhat forced to ride-out last year due to various circumstances, not the least of which was the global pandemic that affected everyone. Unfortunately, we have been set back a little bit in our progress. Nevertheless, 2021 promises to be positive and exciting for The Community, and I look forward to your valued participation.

We will resume our review of The Seventeenth Saying of Jamil next week. I wish you bountiful blessings for Epiphany Day and for 2021.

Very truly yours in Light+,

Gene
