The Twenty-second Saying (Part 13)
“And another of the Companions said, ‘I do not know of any race of people which does not have a religious concept. Is the search for God imbedded in the archetype?’
“‘It is taught in this School,’ replied The Man, ‘that man and woman have a spirit. And that spirit continually yearns to have life and to be nurtured. And that is why there will continually be some form of religious expression, even if it is not the ultimate form. The religions of the world preserve our religious yearnings and make it possible for us to someday find the Truth, because God’s Image and Word will always manifest and He will always send Proclaimers or Messengers into the world to proclaim the Truth. And once that Truth and The Way are known to man and woman, they will then live it.
“‘This brings us back to the City and the Nation we must found. This is to be a Nation of people of the Eternal Race who are representative of the new people with new sights and new goals beyond politics, economics, and the military. But we can never turn from these things until we are truly spiritual. People in the world today want to free themselves from the control of the State. They want to free themselves from law and order and social restraint and economic control. In wanting to be free, they find or seek escape in the use of drugs, in metaphysical speculation, in materialistic or humanistic viewpoints, in music, art, or poetry. They desire to be liberated – to break away from conformity. These acts only lead them deeper into error of matter and the self. In the end, they become enslaved to their emotions and to their desires. It is almost as if people are seeking their own destruction. They are rebelling because they cannot find ultimate and True Religion. This fact explains the great need for our Church to instruct the awaiting masses of the world. But in order for this to happen, our Church must be totally free to teach the Truth as revealed to us without hindrance.
“‘Our communion of bread and water is a symbol of unity and of our humanness. We ask God to endow that bread and water with a special blessing, which, in a way, prepares us to receive the greater blessing in the Sun of Righteousness whereof we eat the True Bread of Life and drink the Living Waters of God. Thus we have a lower and a higher form of religious expression.
“‘If we as spiritual beings die, we cannot help the world. If we seek our death, we cannot instruct humankind. Therefore, it appears that we must accept our spiritual Origin and Nature as well as our human nature and responsibility to the world to instruct humanity and free them from the Powers of Darkness that hold the innocent in a grip of death. Once we are reborn – made spiritual – we remember our origins and our true natures and begin to see that we are immortal. As Jesus taught, “Before Abraham was I am.”
“‘By our instructing the ignorant of the world in the Ways of God, this world will change into spirit. First, individuals will collect together into a Community; the members of that Community will collect into a Nation, and that Nation will instruct other nations. Eventually, all the nations of the world will form into a whole, and then God’s Word and Image will manifest and engulf the world and it will be restored to spirit. That is the concept.
“‘Therefore, as men and women of spirit, we must think beyond the Christian religion. We must think beyond any world religion and think in terms of a universal religion. As Americans, we must think beyond America and think in terms of a spiritual Nation. In essence, we are creating or generating a kind of spiritual revolution that will cause men and women to let go of those powers that control them – economics, politics, the military, social restraints – and refuse to be governed by the Powers of Darkness. It is a great war that we are involved in – a war of peace, a war of conquest and of triumph – God’s Instruments by which this will be achieved are the Sun of Righteousness and the human Soul.’”
Again, if I may be of any personal service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Very truly yours in Light+,
Gene

“When those who have acquired moral stability and contemplative knowledge employ these for the sake of human glory, merely conveying an outward impression of the virtues, and uttering words of wisdom and knowledge without performing the corresponding actions; and when in addition they display to others their vanity because of this supposed virtue and knowledge, then they are rightly handed over to commensurate hardships, in order to learn through suffering that humility which was unknown to them before because of their empty conceit.
“Each demon promotes the attack of this or that particular temptation according to his innate propensity. For one demon is productive of one kind of evil, while another is clearly more abominable than his fellow and has a greater propensity for some other form of evil.” ~The Kolbrin Bible
The purpose of spiritual and moral development is to help ourselves and others and to help bring about God’s Plan for the redemption of the world. It isn’t for self-glorification or to allow us to claim that we are better than others because we have Awakened. When our motive for spiritual development is human glory or self-pride, our results will be limited at best. It isn’t just doing certain development techniques that help us grow, it is also our attitude while doing them.
Likewise, spiritual development is limited when we talk about it, use the right words, say Namista often, etc. but don’t actually engage in any real spiritual growth techniques. Our results will be limited. In fact, we will probably get no results at all just by talking the talk. Speaking German doesn’t make me German, speaking the current spiritual words and phrases doesn’t make me a spiritual person.
It is true that many have to learn through suffering. It is not, however, because God requires us to suffer, but because some of us refuse to learn without it. As the Kolbrin Bible says, it is those who display vanity or hubris who need suffering to wake them up. The Dark Night of the Soul isn’t necessary if we develop humility.
The idea that each demon has its own way of tempting us makes sense, even if you think of demons more as forces of evil rather than beings (they could be both!). As we are individuals with different tastes and different desires, so are demons. Of course, there is more than one demon that uses money as a temptation and more than one that uses promises of love, but the idea being expressed is that different demons may use different temptations to get to us. We must be aware of this and be prepared to protect ourselves against all sorts of temptations. We should also be aware that some demons won’t use temptations, but trials and tribulations instead. When the demon sees we are on the Path of Righteousness, it will make us ill, or cause us to have an accident. They will make us miserable to get us to turn away from truth. We must not listen to those demons either. The war between Light and Dark is truly a war, and the forces of darkness fight dirty.

The Twenty-second Saying (Part 12)
“Then The Mariner said, ‘My mind returns to the difficulty of exemplifying righteousness. Why is it so difficult, and I am speaking singularly, to exemplify righteousness – to live The Way. Also, despite our ideals and our intentions, why is it so difficult to do the proper thing – the right thing?’
“The Man said, ‘The world is a world of matter. And matter originated out of Darkness. Therefore, Darkness is the ruler, the governor, and the god of the material world. This is the first great fundamental teaching that must be acknowledged by all initiates of The Way. Thw world evolved out of the archetype which was the Fallen Angel, then out of Adam and Eve, the progenitors of the human race. There is nothing Good in the world – only Evil, only Darkness, only suffering, and only pain. If it were otherwise, we would not experience death. Regardless of how beautiful a child may be to its parents, that child will eventually grow, suffer and die. And that child is lost to the parent, as the parent is lost to the child. There can be no permanence in matter. Therefore, matter is not Good, because Good cannot suffer and Good cannot die. That is a fundamental teaching.
“‘Acknowledging and accepting that the world is not a Good place, that the world must be restored to Goodness by changing to Light and to spirit, the teacher – the disciple of God, the minister of God – does not cling to the world. He or she clings to the spirit, clings to God, and is strengthened and nurtured by The Image and The Word of God. One is first spirit and secondly a physical being or a human being.
“‘We struggle in the world because we exist in a world of Evil and Darkness. The world suffers violence. Men and women who possess great power and wealth suffer and die just as poor people do. There is no real, lasting benefit in the world.
“‘The world is continually at war on greater and lesser scales. The State is at war. The bureaucrats are at war. All are at war with one another. Life forms in the world are involved in a constant vicious cycle of eating and killing other forms by which to live. Everything is based on death. The survival of the fittest is constantly demonstrated in our society and in our social and family life. No matter how much we love our spouse, our children, our brothers and sisters, father and mother, there is continual strife. This is the way of the world – of our human nature – but not the way of our spiritual Nature.
“‘Therefore, we must expect the world to be at war with us – to war with the Church. The Church is obligated to instruct the world by example. The best way to live an example is to be stern, as was Jesus, even if you are killed for it. We need to be stern, to be strict, to lead by example, to organize, and to live in Community, because only by strength of numbers can we hope to overcome the power of the State. The State governs us by numbers.
“‘The world is kept ignorant of God because people are in the hands of the Powers of Darkness. And the Powers of Darkness must always fight against the Light. It is a perpetual struggle. And even if you were to be enlightened and even if you were to become ennobled and become a great spiritual Teacher, you would still have to suffer the indignation, the undignified act of suffering old age and death. In the end, the world triumphs over the body. There cannot be peace or Goodness on earth except in spirit. Therefore, the world must change and be restored to its original state. That is the goal of spiritual Teachers. If we let go of the spirit and cling to the world, we are lost. But though we lose our bodies or our human beingness, if we cling to the spirit, that is where we find our immortality and our permanence.
“‘In giving The Image and The Word to humankind – to the world – God gives Food for nourishment of the Soul. In other words, God’s Image and Word is food to the spirit. God is what feeds us; not prayer, not devotions, not the sacraments, not the priests of the old church, not anything of the world. If we can understand that it is only God’s Image and Word as our Food and Nourishment that sustains and redeems and restores us, then we can understand the need for living in Community, which allows us to become instruments of change for the world. If Light does not live and exist in the world, then the world will have no knowledge of it; and it is our obligation to give knowledge of God’s Image and Word to it.
“‘That is why we must build a City and a Nation of God. We must dwell in Sanctuary – we need to preserve The Teachings in archives and keep them in existence for the world so they will not be lost. Jesus was killed, the disciples were killed, the first Church was destroyed; and through that destruction, the Teachings of the True Begotten Son of God – The Image and The Word manifest – were lost. And the world inherited a perverted, artificial, man-made religion that people follow, believing it is the Way to God, which it is not. That is a horrible realization once you are reborn and have knowledge of the Truth. Each must hold to The Way and not be weakened by the hold of the world.’”

“And he said, Humankind is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of little fish. Among the fish he found a fine large fish. He threw all the little fish back into the sea and easily chose the large fish.”
“Yeshua said, Look, the sower went out, took a handful of seeds, and scattered them. Some fell on the road and the birds came and pecked them up. Others fell on rock and they did not take root in the soil and did not produce heads of grain. Others fell on thorns and they choked the seeds and worms devoured them. And others fell on good soil and it brought forth a good crop, yielding sixty per measure and one hundred twenty per measure.”
“Yeshua said, I took my stand in the midst of the world, and I appeared to them in flesh. I found them all drunk yet none of them thirsty. My soul ached for the human children because they are blind in their hearts and do not see. They came into the world empty and seek to depart from the world empty. But now they are drunk. When they shake off their wine, they will repent.”
“He said to them, If it were useful, fathers would produce their children already circumcised from their mothers. But the true circumcision in spirit is altogether valuable.”
“Yeshua said to her, I am the one who comes from what is whole. I was given from the things of my father. Salome said, I am your student. Yeshua said, I say, if you are whole, you will be filled with light, but if divided, you will be filled with darkness.” ~The Gospel of Thomas
This short saying from the Gospel of Thomas is a variation of other familiar parables. The wise fisher keeps the fine large fish and throws the smaller ones back. In the same way, we might say the wise orchard grower picks the ripe apple and leaves the green one to continue growing or the wise carpenter uses the strong and well-aged wood and leaves the weak, green wood behind. But while this quote speaks of humankind, it is really about how a few of us are the chosen of God. As the Gospel of Thomas says, one of a thousand, or two of ten thousand are chosen. Of course, God doesn’t choose based on size or physical strength, but on our willingness to learn, grow, expand spiritually, and obey the Will of God. But Jesus says humans should behave this way because if we want to be one with God we should try to emulate God as much as is possible.
This is another variation—or perhaps explanation—of the fisherman parable. The farmer sows many seeds so that some will grow and yield healthy fruit. This answers the question of why there are those few who are the Chosen of God. Because we have been given by God a somewhat limited free will, there will be those who will take the wrong path or no path at all. Eventually, all will be on the one path, but the ones who seek the path early and with devotion will be among the chosen.
When Jesus says that when he descended to the Earthly plane, he found them “all drunk yet none of them thirsty,” he means that our thinking was the idle-brained kind of thinking. The drunken thinking of the materialist. And they lacked a thirst for truth, for knowledge, for God. But he adds that we will all repent once we have “shaken off our wine”. In short, once the illusions of the material world are revealed to us as illusions, and temporary ones at best, we will turn back to God and back to the spiritual.
This one is straightforward. The real circumcision of the chosen of God is to cut themselves off from their attachments to the world of matter. It has nothing to do with maiming male babies.
God is whole. The Godhead, the highest dimension of reality is whole. All lower dimensions are part of it and therefore not whole. To become whole, we must raise our consciousness one level at a time until we are at the level of the Angels and God. Then we will be whole, we will be in the Light, we will have wisdom and knowledge. Until then, we live in some degree of darkness.

Second Advent Easter (April 18)
On Monday, April 18, 2022, a concelebrated Sunrise Divine Service was performed at the Cathedral Church of the Americas. A full breakfast was served at the Church of the End Times parsonage at the Sanctuary following the service.
On the previous Sunday, April 17th, traditional Easter in the West was celebrated. On that day, a Sunrise Divine Service was held and an Easter Brunch hosted at the Rectory Abbey at Bishopstead. An Easter egg hunt was also held for the children of the Community on that day.
April 18 is celebrated as True Easter in the Second Advent Church in a twofold manner: first, we commemorate the spiritual resurrection of Jesus on this date in keeping with the solar calendar, which, unlike the lunar calendar used by First Dispensation churches, is fixed; second, we remember the Revelations received in Sanctuary on this date in 1982, an event that served to confirm the importance of this date in the Sacred Calendar of the Church. Revelations received on this date are recorded in The Book of God’s Revelation.
* * *
On April 18, 1982, The Church received a revelation confirming the Second Appearance of God when the Angel of the Lord in the form of Jesus manifested in visible form at the Sanctuary of Revelation and entrusted The Church with the keys to open the Seals of the Book of Revelation. The date of Second Advent Easter was established as part of the Sacred Calendar following the series of Revelations that The Man received on that day as he climbed the Seven Mountains of Metal.
It is recorded in The Book of God’s Revelation that, while on the fifth mountain, the Mountain of Bronze, The Man was exhorted to instruct the Righteous and the Ordained Ministers in the Sacred Calendar of God’s Word, to let them be knowledgeable in the Days of His Appearances and Blessings, and to let them gather together at the prescribed times so their spirits might be anointed by God’s Comfort and strengthened by His Consolation. Thus Second Advent Easter has a unique and sacred significance to members of the Second Advent Church.
On that day in 1982, while The Man stood on the summit of the Mountain of Iron in the Sanctuary of Revelation, an Angel of the Lord appeared to The Man out of the midst of the Four Luminaries, identified Himself as Jesus and spoke:
All prophecies having been fulfilled, Judgement is now upon the world of the living. The Heavens declare the glory of God in His Final Appearance. He has established His Tabernacle in The Sun whose rays enlighten the Soul of the Righteous, putting them on The Way of holiness.
The blind are made to see His Image. The deaf are made to hear His Word. The dead are made to rise at His Coming. Every Spirit is judged before The Creator. Freedom to err is abolished. The wicked find no sanctuary in Darkness, for it is lit and evil is exposed.
As foretold by The Father in Heaven who revealed understanding of future events to His prophets in visions, the fruit of the vine is abundant. All may drink anew the dew for a blessing as drops from the honeycomb. God pours out His Holy Spirit as from a fountain flowing from a rock over desolate wastes. By the perfection of His Light, God breathes His Word a final time. His utterings bring forth a New Creation. He reveals the Image of His Countenance.
God has opened the gates of the Heavenly Temple. The altar is of Light fashioned by the luster of His Presence on the Throne of His Glory. The tabernacle is lit by the sun, and the Bread of Life is placed thereupon. The Heavens are rolled up like a scroll inscribed with His Statutes and Judgements. His Law is written on the Tablets of Light borne by the Ark of His New Covenant as a rainbow.
I ministered to Israel, to a generation unworthy of redemption, and I was scourged by faithless men. I, a man of sorrows who bore the grief of the people turned to their own ways, did intercede for the transgressors, sacrificing myself not to God but to my people out of my love for them. But Israel understood not my preordained presence, which was my destiny from birth as God’s Appointed One. . . .
Moses and the prophets of the remnant of True Israel spoke of my coming to redeem the people. With the rejection of me, the Light went out from the land. But the precious remnant, shortlived, awaited the Advent of God and the brightness of His Second Coming.
The Day of The Lord is near. He appears out of the Darkness to enlighten the whole Creation with His Image and to judge it with His Word. It is meet that He manifest His Image before His full coming and prepare the Creation with His Word. For I declare unto you that when He comes to restore the creation and reveals Himself, nothing shall live save His Light and those Souls reborn of that Light. . . .
Further Revelations received by The Man on April 18, 1982, are recorded with commentary in The Book of God’s Revelation.
In the Second Advent Church, Easter is a fixed date in the Sacred Calendar. The Church celebrates true Easter each year on April 18. On this day The Church honors both the day of Jesus’ Resurrection and the day of Jesus’ Revelations and Appearance at the Sanctuary.
It is known that the Eastern Church had celebrated Easter every year on April 16, the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, also known as Passover. The day of the crucifixion, a Friday, and the 14th day of Nisan, was recognized as the beginning of the 15th of Nisan. Jesus was resurrected on the following day, Sunday the 16th.
The Church, holding to the solar calendar of the Essaei, maintains that the date of Easter cannot be movable in present-day time reckoning, as it is under the lunar calendar (determined as the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring). The fixed Sacred Calendar of the Second Advent ministry recognizes that an annual alignment of the earth and sun, planets, stars, and the cosmos in general, makes this day cosmically important.
Because the manifestation in Sanctuary took place on April 18, 1982, The Church considers this day to be the day in alignment with the original date of the Resurrection. For these reasons The Church keeps this day sacred.
The Gospel message records Jesus as saying, “For the son of man shall come in the glory of the Father with His Angels; and then He shall regard every person according to his works.” It was written by prophets of former times that God would send His messenger to prepare the way of God’s Second Coming, as promised to Adam and Eve, and come as a fire to refine the world. The Old Testament presents the prophecy of Malachi: “For behold the day cometh that shall burn as an oven and all that do wickedly shall be stubble, but unto you that love me, shall the Sun of Righteousness appear with healing in its rays, and ye that do righteously shall grow up as a new people of God. And I shall spare them as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.”
With God’s manifestation in the Sun of Righteousness on February 2, 1962, and the Appearance of Jesus on April 18, 1982, the Second Advent of God and the manifestation of Jesus and the Angelic Host have transpired and are presently at work for the salvation of the righteous.
