The bi-annual luncheon of the Nevada Interfaith Association (NIA) was held Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The event was hosted by the Reno Buddhist Center. In attendance from the International Community of Christ was Bishop Gene Savoy Jr.

Rajan Zed of the Universal Society of Hinduism conducted the meeting. Resident Priest of the Buddhist Center Rev. Shelley Fisher delivered the welcome message. Rev. Toni King of the Unity Center of Reno delivered the invocation. NIA president Rev. Matthew Fisher delivered the presentation “NIA – How we do interfaith.” Fr. Chuck Durante discussed NIA membership, and Dr. Bradley Corbin delivered a Baha’i prayer of benediction.

The luncheon has been a biannual event held since 1999. The meeting provides a venue for the coming together of interfaith members, clergy, human services organizations and at times government. Hosting rotates among various congregations and non-profit facilities in the region.

NIA is a non-profit interfaith network of religious and spiritual leaders in Nevada. Programs include the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Service, the interfaith Nevada Prayer Breakfast, the Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service, and the biannual interfaith luncheons.

Bishop Gene Savoy, Jr. led the Nevada Interfaith Association (formerly the Nevada Clergy Association) as its president from 1999-2017.
